Mr. Lee came out the day that I called to give me an estimate and started work the next week -- working around recent rain. His crew came and prepared the house and garage for 2 days, sanding and priming and came back after it rained to finish the job. It took longer than it would have earlier in the year because of the rain, but I can't imagine it going faster or more smoothly while being interrupted by rain. I am having other work done, replacing a leaky window, for example and adding security doors, so they will come back to do touch ups when all that is complete. Mr. Lee called to check on that work to schedule his workers as efficiently as possible. They even cleaned out the patio, saying that it would make their work look better when I thanked them for doing it. The house looks brand new.

James came out immediately and gave estimate for interior and exterior. Had to delay job because of economy and only painted exterior. Price remained the same for exterior. Three men spent three days sanding, scraping, patching. Did an excellent job; included garage door & 2 porches for $150 more; painted wrought iron railings. Paint coverage was excellent. Watch plants to make sure they are not damaged. Workers were polite and cleaned up afterwards. Went above and beyond by digging out a 2x4 ft. dead, overgrown planter box from side of house.

Overall, we were very pleased -- the workers were very accomodating and professional. Great prepwork, painting and customer service. Highly recommend.

My townhome had experienced water damage earlier in March of this year. I contacted Mr. Lee, in addition to 3 other vendors to provide a quote. Mr. Lee was prompt in returning my call and I was extremely impressed with his credentials, pictures and testimonials provided for my review. The initial quote provided to me by Mr. Lee was subsequently reduced by a couple of hundred dollars on the final bid. Wow! How often does that happen even in this economy! Housepainting Inc. was the complete package. The crew of two headed by Nam commenced the work the following week. They were prompt, professional and diligent workers. The prep was thorough and detail given to ensure that all the furniture was covered and edges taped. The wallpaper removal took only 2 days after which the walls were primed and painted to perfection. My ceilings were sprayed and the the drywall repair completed. The team completely removed the remnants of any mess. I was expecting the job to take 7 days. Work began on Tuesday morning and was done Friday of the same week. There is a patch of ceiling between the living room and loft that was overlooked. I am having new flooring installed and when I called Mr. Lee he ensured me that any touch up work would be completed after the floors are done. I highly recommend Housepainting Inc. for all the qualities listed in the categories of price, quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. Thank you Mr. Lee for giving my home the "facelift" it sorely needed.

It came out great. They did an excellent job preparing before they painted, and then a great job painting. The two workers, Song and Estaban worked steadily and just got in done. They had us inspect each phase of the job as they were doing it to be sure we would be happy. We are very happy with the work they preformed.

This is the best experience I've had with any sort of contractor. James, the owner, responded quickly to my call and came the same day to give me an estimate. We had both exterior painting and interior painting done and are equally happy with both. The crew for the outside was punctual, friendly and did excellent work. They also cleaned up and didn't toss their mess into my flower beds which has happened with other contractors! The indoor crew was equally pleasant and professional. We had A LOT of trim and detail work done in our home and they were painstaking about covering things with plastic, putting paper down and, again, cleaning up after they had finished. The paint job itself looks fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I thought their price was extremely fair for the amount of work they did.

Excellent!! LIves up to its many great reviews. Mr Lee gave me a reasonable estimate and started work the next day. He delivered on all his promises. Mr Lee's crew worked efficiently and they were extremely polite and neat. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them in again in the future.

James Lee was on site and provided a written estimate within hours on same day (a Saturday) as calling his answering service. I called him one more time before the job and one time during the job. These calls were returned extremely promptly also. I was very impressed with his responsiveness as you can tell. This means a lot to me. The foreman of the crew working on my home was Song. Song is an good communicator even though his english is not perfect. I never had any trouble understanding what he was talking about and neither did his workers. The whole crew was very punctual and very neat. I didn't find one drop of paint where it didn't belong. Window masking was well done. Every home owner appreciates this kind of attention to detail. They did some things I wasn't expecting such as some light pruning of certain plants close to the stucco and removal/reinstallation of about 15 large patio screens and 2 patio doors. They also moved patio furniture out of the way. Their patching of stucco and wood cracks was very well done also. James and Song both said upfront that puttying a wood surface was not guaranteed and this is understandable since wood expands and contracts a lot. Where some stucco had been previously damaged by sloppy window installers the scratch coat was visible, Song and the crew did a very nice job of patching these areas. We had let the house go too long before repainting so there was quite a bit of wood sanding and priming to do on the ends of the rafters and all of was done to my satisfaction. We were allowed to select our preferred brand of paint. James clearly states upfront that some brands do cost extra. In our case we selected Dunn Edwards which has worked well in both interior and exterior applications and was not considered an extra cost paint. Since we did not change any colors, one coat of paint was satisfactory on the siding and eaves but James did assure me that if a second coat was needed he would do it. Where there was sanding and priming, he used a prime coat and a finish coat. The stucco was primed and finish coated as it had not been painted before. All siding was semi-gloss originally and was repainted the same. The top coat on the stucco is flat. The crew left me almost a gallon of each color for any future touchups. With regards to the interior work, they were extremely fast, thorough and neat. One wall in the bathroom had been substantially patched after a repipe job many years ago. The wallpaper had covered many sins on this wall. James' crew (a different crew from the exterior workers) did a great job putting a new skim coat where necessary after removing the wallpaper. In short, we had a great experience with House Painting Inc and highly recommend them.

If you're looking for a painter, look no further. They don't get much better than James Lee and his expert crew! Meticulous attention to the prep work is the most important part of the job. The final finish color is the easy part. Doing the prep work properly is what I don't have the patience for myself. These guys thrive on it. I take great pride in my home, and James and his crew take great pride in their work. That's a great combination.

It was a great experience. I had confidence that the job would go well based off the Angie's List ratings for this company. James Lee was very personable, explained everything, showed pix of work, evidence of w/c and contractor's license # and validity, and BBB rating. Provided numerous references from happy customers. Could see that he was proud of his work and company, and wanted to make the customer happy. Quick responses on questions and quotes, and matched a competitor's estimate. Mr. Shin and his crew were very professional, courteous, and conscientious to be clean with their work. Mr. Shin explained everything very well, and showed and explained various phases of the job. He and his crew took pride in their work, they did an excellent job, as though they were painting their own house. He made sure that I was satisfied with the job before payment. Their attention to detail was superb. Our house looks like new. James, Mr. Shin, and his crew are the best. Worth every $$ spent. Hire them, you will be very pleased. They truly want the customer to be happy with the job and will go above and beyond to make it happen. Kudos, you guys are the best, thank you!

I asked this company to come and give me an estimate for full exterior house painting - two story house with lots of wood trim. The owner came out promptly, by appointment, walked the property and gave me a comprehesive reasonable written estimate on the spot. I did not give this company an opportunity to meet or beat a better price I received from an equally reputable and licensed painting contractor. Had this company met or beat the price I got from another company, I would have felt completely comfortable hiring this company.

Mr. Lee responded nearly immediately by phone to my emailed request for an estimate, and came over to look at the job the same afternoon. His estimate was lower than others I had obtained, and he provided references and certificates of insurance on the spot. While Mr. Lee did not come back to the site while the work was being done, Mr. Choi and his crew arrived on time every day, did an excellent job of preparing the surfaces to be painted, protecting the landscaping and hardscape, and helping me choose colors. They were professional and courteous. The finished job looks fabulous, and I couldn't be happier.

James had excellent references and gave us a very good price (some others were nearly twice as much), so we went with him. We were on a tight schedule, and he was willing to accommodate. He estimated it would take five days. The crew of two came out the next week and got started right away. They were definitely hard workers and were good at asking us questions and keeping us updated (although the crew leader did not speak English very well). Toward the end of the week, it became clear they weren't going to finish on time, but they pulled in a couple of extra guys and worked all day Saturday to try to make it. They still didn't quite and had to finish on Monday. Overall it was a nice job and made the house look a lot better, although we have had some issues with paint peeling from windows. They also blew a wire re-installing one of the light fixtures, but James paid us for that repair without an argument. Overall it was a good experience.

They wanted to do the painting with the enamel paint and but didn't want that. So we didn't use them but apart from this we didn't have any other issues with them.

It could not have gone better. The job was schedule about two weeks in advance and the team arrive the first day at the time expected. My son was home for school during that week and said that the painters showed up early in the morning took a break during mid-day (it was extremely hot that week) and came back to finish the day at the house. Unexpected postives: ealed the windows with paper from the inside so that very little dust came into the house during the sanding stage; patched stucco on the back side of the house, painted the security door (truly needs to be replaced) and porch. Everything was tidy at the end of each day and the final clean up was spotless. I was given progress updates each day. Overall a very very good experience. Will definitely hire them for the inside of the house.

The experience was fabulous. The owner is James Lee. His price is not cheap, but it was not the most expensive. He said that he has to charge these prices in order to keep experienced painters. It was a Korean father and his two sons that did our house. They were very hard working and very knowledgeable. We liked them and I think it was worth the price. We would use them again in the future.

I could not be happier with House Painting. James responded right away. I need the work done quickly and as soon as I gave them the go ahead, they came the next morning at 8:30 am. James initially estimated 3 days for the job; it was finished in less than 2 1/2. The quality is absolutely fantastic and I am thrilled with the results. The painters asked me about every detail, how I wanted it done. They were professional, punctual and friendly. They taped and covered EVERYTHING and they cleaned up perfectly. The results are just totally awesome and I am totally pleased. Plus the price was very competitive. Job well done, I would absolutely use them again in the future.

James called me back almost immediately and was able to come out and give me an estimate the next day. Andy and his team were extremely accommodating in terms of schedule and started the job on a Saturday to get going to meet our schedule. They were very flexible and professional at all times. We used them to get our house ready to go on the market and we will definitely use them again in our new house!

The reason I picked them is because of the reports they had on Angie's List. The lived up to the great comments that were left on them. They were great. They started the job three days after I called them. It took them five days to complete the work. They did a superb job.

Very well. I learned that the painter was tied to one paint manufacturer, but I had selected another brand and color. Mr. Lee used the paint brand and color I selected, and did an excellent job at the same price as he originally estimated. There were no reasons or issues that I felt needed a repaint after they completed the project.

James, the owner, came to give me an estimate on the same day I called. He walked through the areas under consideration and made extensive notes. He listened carefully to my comments and concerns about the project. Without having to ask he presented me with documents that proved he was insured, and had an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. He also provided me with a list of recent homes/businesses in my area that I could go and look at, including some where the customer was willing to receive calls from prospective customers regarding their experience with the company. He also has notebooks filled with actual letters of appreciation from clients. The project started one day later than planned, but James called me a few days ahead of the scheduled start to let me know and to make sure I was okay with the one day delay. The wallpaper removal in the kitchen area was going to be tricky because we wanted to keep wallpaper that is in the breakfast room which shares a common wall with, and is open to, the kitchen. The wallpaper had been wrapped around the corner of the kitchen into the breakfast room so I wasn't even sure it would be possible to remove the kitchen paper without damaging the paper in the breakfast room. CJ worked meticulously and the result is incredible! He did, in fact, successfully remove the paper I wanted removed, and the breakfast room paper is in absolutely pristine condition, due to his efforts. The project took 4 days to complete (including painting after removing the wallpaper). All my furniture and cabinets were carefully projected by plastic sheeting. The placed all the furniture back in position and put window treatments back in place as well. They arrived on time and left on time, just as they had agreed.

The project started one day late, but James called a few days ahead of the scheduled start to advise me and to make sure I was okay with the slight delay. CJ and his helper arrived and left punctually every day. All of my furnishings and cabinetry were carefully protected with plastic sheeting and extensive prep work was performed prior to paint application. I originally wanted to leave the ceiling in the family room white, but decided as the paint went on that I wanted the ceiling color to match the walls. They happily accommodated my request. The project (which also included wallpaper removal) took 4 days. Upon completion they placed all of my furniture back in its correct position and put window treatments back in place. Having work done in your home as always somewhat disruptive, but this company made it as easy as it can be. I actually called James this morning to have him return to give me an estimate on another project and he'll be here at noon.

This was our 4th time using James Lee's HousePainting company. We are delighted with James Lee and his whole crew of painters! This time we did not know exactly which colors to choose for the interior. Our lead man "C.J." made excellent suggestions: swiss coffee, milkweed, bone, and navaho white. Now our home interior looks very clean, bright, and happy! "C.J." is excellent: hard-working,respectful, and humorous. Very fast, no problems.We give HousePainting our 5-star recommendation---interior!!!

Mr. Lee sent two super teams. One finished theinterior painting and one for exterior. Both teams were superb. They arrived on time, were neat and professional, open, polite and hard working. They INSISTED on starting on a Saturday and even worked over Labor Day, despite my worries of having them working so h****** a national holiday devoted to leisure! The inside crew worked with my dog and myself in the house. They are not just fine with dogs, they wuold stop by and give him a pat and a nice talking to now and again. He loved it. They respected my privacy to the extent that sometimes I forgot they were there. Both guys not only made my kitchen a dream room, they fixed and finished the bedroom we had made some major painting errors in. No problem. Now, it looks like a spread in a magazine. Two bathrooms and a hallway were painted as well. It's lovely. The outside crew was the same in manner and an pbvious hard work ethic. They also were fine with my dog. I had no trouble communicating my needs and wishes. They sanded, fixed, scraped, filled, fixed and turned a house with huge patches of flaking stucco into the prettiest house on the block. They even fixed a hole in the stucco the roofers left! They did such a good job, I don't think I'll need them again for some time-but should my paint need re-doing, I'll definitely use them. I now reccomend them to anyone I know is looking for a painter. To seal the deal, the price was fair and affordable!
