On 7/20/13, House Painting, Inc. visited our house for a house exterior painting quote. James was punctual, gave a great presentation, was very professional and his estimate was competitive.

This painting service is the best!!! We have had House Painting Inc in the past and rely on them. Their workmen are professional, timely and do quality work and are genuinely interested in making the customer happy. We can't praise them enough. Don't waste your time with anyone else.

They were top notch. They did what they advertised to do. They were quick, they were efficient, they did the job well, management was great. I haven't had any problem with any of the Angie's people contacted.

Very easy to work with, helpful, neat. One of 2 good painter choices but (slightly) less expensive so went with them. 1800 sq ft house needed only stucco painted - 2.5-day job. Worked within my schedule, great crew.

The company had two separate crews, one for inside and one for outside. Everyone was very flexible with our somewhat disjointed schedule and worked around us efficiently enough to get the jobs done quickly. The paint jobs inside and out are clean, neat, and very thorough. The painters never asked us to do anything; they moved all the furniture inside and replaced it (even reconnecting the earthquake straps for the big bookcases); they moved all the plants and furniture and screens outside and put them all back when the job was done; they covered everything that needed to be covered with plastic, tape, etc. and bound up the plants. And before they painted they prepped everything very thoroughly, scraping, priming, washing, filling. In the end, the house looks gorgeous and we're very satisfied with the quality of the work. We'd definitely call them again.

They had a crew of three working on the house. They completed the work in about a week which was in the time frame specified. They did more than I thought they would including framing and installing a door next to my fireplace where the ashes are collected. I am satisfied with their service and will be using them in the future for interior painting.

The sides of the house with south and west exposure was in terrible shape and after House Painting finished the job it looks absolutely beautiful. I expect it will stay that way for a good long time.

Excellent company! I highly recommend them. Recently, I had insulation blown into the walls of my 1939 house in Altadena. As part of the work, the technicians had to drill through the exterior stucco about every 3 feet, in both the upper and lower sections, followed by patching the holes. So, the exterior of my house looked like Swisscheese when they were done. Unfortunately, the insulation guys didn't do a very good job with the stucco patches, so I knew I'd need a very good painter to make my house look good again. Two different friends recommend James Lee (House Painting Inc.), so I looked him up on Angie's List as well as Yelp and saw all the glowing reviews. I called for an estimate and got the response, "we can come by this afternoon if you are available" - talk about prompt service. Mr. Lee walked the exterior, we discussed the level of stucco repair/clean-up needed, and he provided me a more-than-reasonable estimate on the spot. I was so pleased with the reviews, Mr. Lee's attitude/professionalism, and the estimate (did I mention how reasonable it was!), I decided to go with House Painting Inc. right on the spot. Mr. Lee was very flexible to the start date that I wanted and his 2-person team showed up promptly as promised. They were able to complete the full exterior painting (as well as a couple of minor interior patches) within a week. Overall, they did an EXCELLENT job and I couldn't be happier. The amount of time spent on prep work and in fixing/cleaning-up the stucco patches was outstanding. They protected all the landscaping (plants as well as the new pavers I had just installed) and there were no oversprays or spills anywhere. They also removed all the gutter downspouts and patched/painted behind them (which it appears the previous painters/owners had not done). Overall, I am more than pleased with the work performed (have I mentioned how reasonable the price was). Very professional, high quality, prompt ... all the great adjectives/adverbs you can use (but usually never have the opportunity) to describe a contractor. I will definitely use Mr. Lee and House Painting Inc. for all my paint jobs in the future.

Having done a fair amount of work on our homes in the past, I must say that this was one of the best, if not the best, experience I've ever had with home improvement trades. From the minute James bid on the job, until the last touch-up was done, the entire crew was professional, friendly, and obsessed with the quality of the job. Abraham led our crew, and he was beyond words. They painstakingly patched, taped, and prepped for several days - I don't think anyone could have been more precise about it. We had requested that they use white (actual white, not off-white) for the job, and they were both concerned we would not like the outcome. James even called us the night before the top coat began to make sure we were 100% sure (we were - and we are 100% thrilled with how it came out). Abraham painted with the kind of care that you would use on your own home, if you had unlimited time to do the job (except he's a pro, and can move pretty quickly, even while being precise). They ended up taking about 6.5 days for the whole house. The night before they finished, our dogs put some scratches one of the exterior doors that had been painted. Abraham noticed the next morning, and we assured him it wasn't his fault and he shouldn't have to fix it. He insisted on it, saying he didn't want to leave without knowing that we were completely satisfied. I don't think I would ever consider using another painting contractor on future project.

They did such a good job and their price so reasonable, we decided to hire the again.

Mr. Lee's crew showed up exactly when they said they would. In fact, I got an estimate 4 months prior and had to wait to start the job. When I called to finally start the project, they scheduled for the very next morning. His crew of three showed up in the morning and started by prepping the house. They taped off everything not being painted. They even wrapped up all the plants! They were professional, neat and accommodating. I have two dogs that needed potty breaks through the day! Each day they wrapped up, cleaned up, and put their supplies away. It took two days to do all the prep work. I had a lot of damaged trim. Two days to paint. They were very detail oriented. Not a speck of paint landed on any ground or plant. They did amazing work. My house looks amazing. I would highly recommend them!!

They were one of three painters who submitted bids to paint both the interior and exterior of my home. They were thorough, responded quickly and did timely follow up. They were also very competitively priced. I used another painter who's work I witnessed first hand at a friends house for an a nearly identical price. I would have used House Painting Inc. if I hadn't gone with the other company. I may still use them on future work. The positive reviews about them in Angie's List were consistent with my limited interaction with the company

They arrived on time as scheduled, the supervisor was friendly and helpful. After they prepped the deck, rain was in the forecast so they covered the entire area with plastic sheeting to protect it - and yes, it did rain. They returned a few days later to paint and stain; they were patient when I considered changing something at the last minute and were able to acquire a replacement board in an unusual size that needed to be replaced. Our deck was not protected properly when it was built by the previous owner so it was a bit of an eyesore and challenging to prep. We were concerned about how it might turn out but It looks beautiful and our neighbors have commented on the improved curb appeal. You get what you pay for, meticulous work and the full attention of the crew and supervisor while your work is being done - plus once they are done the only thing left behind is the beautiful result.

This experience was a pleasure from beginning to end. Everyone was extremely punctual, courteous, clean, and helpful. They very carefully prepped my house before starting any actual painting. They worked with me on color selection and proved to be very knowledgeable about their work. They also took total pride in their work!! And always cleaned up at the end of each day. Extremely professional! Courteous! I highly recommend them!

I had called references and every one gave them the highest recommendations! My experience is that these gleaming reviews were not good enough! I most highly recommend this company! On time. Masked and taped the area properly. Followed instruction well. Corrected mistakes without question. Followed up 6 months later to schedule an appointment to come back at paint/patch areas where needed at no charge.

We had many people recommend painters, but we wanted to go with Angie?s List #1 rated painting company and that was House Painting by James Lee. James came out and talked with us for over an hour and showed many examples of finished homes and current letters from countless clients about ranging from the average guy to VPs and foreign dignitaries. Our plan was simple to sand and repaint all the white trim which was badly needed and all the rafter tails on the 2nd story. Mold had started growing under the gutters and they power washed and removed all the mold. Benjamin and his partner were here for two weeks. Our yellow lab loved him and he was friendly to all our friends and neighbors and does excellent work! They prepared all the locations and cleaned up every day. We LOVED his attention to detail! We?ll have them back in a few months to repaint a few rooms on the inside of our home. Two thumbs up to James Lee and his company called House Painting.

They are excellent painters. Nothing can be detected wrong. It gets done exactly as you would dream. No issues with the crew, paint, clean up or anything else. They were here for six days and it was done. It was a bit chaotic that week but it went quickly. A different crew from this company painted the exterior of our house in 2012 and it was the same positive experience then too. I can recommend James Lee's company services without reservation.

We initially received three quotes from three different A+ listed painters through Angie's List and by far, House Painting Inc was the cheapest. James came by, took a look at the house and gave us an estimate within 24 hours of the visitation. After we agreed to go with House Painting Inc, a crew of three came by and started the interior painting. For a house about 3000+ sq ft, David and his team was able to complete the job within 4 consecutive days which included moving very heavy furniture and placing them back when that specific area was completed. They covered everything in plastic including floors, staircases, and furniture to make sure no paint accidentally spilled on them. They were very careful with removing window coverings like curtains and blinds and placing them back when those areas was completed. They were very respectful and was very diligent in getting the job done quickly but yet making sure it was done with perfection.

They were very punctual for the initial estimate which was very reasonable compared to others we got. Mr. Lee was informative and gave good tips. The crew, headed by Andrew, was amazing. They were very meticulous is the protection of our property and careful in moving our things. They worked in very cold weather and high wind without a hitch and were diligent in retrieving masking papers that had blown to our neighbors' property. The painting was first class with excellent preparation (sanding, priming, power washing, etc.) They were careful to check with us every step of the way to insure colors were right. They also did little extra things without charge like caulking our skylight while they were on the roof painting the chimney caps. They also stayed late to make sure they put everything back exactly as it was before they came.

They showed up exactly on time, with big smiles and crisp white clothes. The prepped with diligence and painted two bedrooms. When I returned every switch plat was back in place and they had even fixed a little damaged area on a closet door. There was not a spot on anything and they had done precision work in every way. Well worth the extra money. When I have to do the rest of the house I will definitely use them again.

James Lee from House Painting Inc arrived on time for our estimate appointment for exterior painting of our 2 story 1974, 2900 sq ft house. He was professional, knowledgable and friendly; he had many excellent references and photos of home and buildings painted by his company. I was impressed by him, his references and detailed description regarding the prep work that would be done. I accepted his estimate which was very reasonable on the spot. A few days later two employees; Abraham and his co-worker arrived early for work, they spent the next 4 days cleaning and preparing the house to be painted. All windows and 3 sliding glass doors were covered with plastic and taped completely around. The built-in pool was also covered with plastic wrap that was taped down. They were careful not to damage roof tiles, putting down boards to protect them, they also covered bushes and plants. They worked non-stop (break for lunch they brought from home) sanding, scraping, patching, spot primer on prepped wood, followed by power wash. It took 4 days because the house needed a lot of work. They covered every inch of the house including sanding, patching filling and repairing some metal trim along the roof. Drop cloths were put down there was no mess, they cleaned up everything before they went home each day. These guys are great; this house has never had such thorough prep and repair before being painted. The house has been painted 4 times over the 25 years we have lived here, none of the work came anywhere near the laborious and careful preparation work done by Abraham and his co-worker. Once the prep work was completed the house was painted in no time, the painting was also done with meticulous care. Early during the job I changed my mind about the color; Abraham once again brought chosen paint samples and applied them to all sides of the house on the stucco and wood so we could see the colors in different lighting and surfaces. Years ago I painted the front doors a shade of dark red that was mixed and not a standard color. I wanted the doors painted the same color and had only the paint can with a bit of dried paint in it. Abraham took the can to the paint shop and brought home a perfect match, other painters had not been able to match the color. Our house looks beautiful. Neighbors stop to tell us what a great job the painters did and they love the color Abraham helped me pick out. The house has never looked better. The prep and repair work done by Abraham and his co-worker are behind the transformation and of course their great paint job. Their detailed preparation was excellent, everything was cleaned all materials hauled away, no splatters or mess. This is a great company that works hard to do the job right. So skimping on the tough stuff, no trying to paint over bad spots, they fix the bad spots! It has been 7 months since the house was painted and it's still beautiful. No problems.
