My house was in bad shape. I wish I could attach pictures. I got several estimates to paint the whole thing, including the detached garage. House Painting Inc. was not the cheapest, but I immediately had a good feeling about Mr. Lee, the owner, and his proposal was by far the most detailed and professional. Also the photos of the finished work were seriously impressive. So I hired them. Best decision about any contractor I've ever made. The outcome is spectacular. Mr. Song and David showed up 30 minutes early on the first day and got to work. Mr. Song walked around the property and pointed out what he'd be doing exactly, and asked my preferences for some things. It was then that I realized how much work was ahead. As I said, my house is 90 years old, with all the original sills and woodwork. And I have a total of 36 windows.

We had a great experience. James and his team were always punctual, very professional and the quality of the job was wonderful. They went out of their way to please my husband and I, got several different paint options when we weren't happy with our initial color choice and finished the job promptly. Would absolutely use them in the future and recommend. They were slightly higher priced than some other providers but we were very pleased with the results.

Mr. Lee and his associates were very prompt and professional in all aspects of the job. Our crew actually arrived early on most days, and were never late or no show. No hidden "Oh by the ways". Every aspect of the job was handled exactly as was discussed during the estimate process. I provided the color choices we selected, and they advised on the use of finishes in different areas and why. Job was finished within the parameters that were discussed in advance (5 days total). All mess was cleaned up to satisfaction. All left over paint was left with clear labeling for any future touch-ups. They were not the cheapest company of the 3 estimates I got, but based upon the prep time / paint time I felt that in the long run HP, Inc was the better value and would do a more thorough job. They did. Very pleasant experience, would not hesitate to use again.

Painted my mother's house exterior. This is the second time I have used them, the first time was for my uncles house 2 years ago. . They are prompt and do a good job. Her house required a lot of prep work and it was all done well. The price was fair and the work quality was good. Showed up on time and completed the work without interruption.

We were very pleased with the work that Jeff, Chris and Oh did on our house. They were prompt, very thorough, and did quality work.

The painters arrived on time as scheduled and started work immediately. We were given an update each day as to what work would be done, and we were consulted on trouble spots. The two painters were prompt, polite, and efficient. The preparation, cleaning, priming, and painting of the exterior of the house, garage, and storage room (including doors, window frames, gates, fence, and bars) was completed in 6 days. We received a very detailed estimate from the owner Mr. Lee and that was the price we paid. The outcome is beautiful - a complete transformation. Several neighbors stopped by to comment and get the company's phone number. We will definitely recommend House Painting Inc to friends and family.

They were great. Got here on time. They were very careful of my plants. i can't say enough about their professionalism.

My family and I are so thoroughly impressed with the professionalism, punctuality, meticulousness, honesty and more than fair pricing of House Painting, Inc. When the owner, Mr. James Lee, first arrived so punctually at our home, then took the time to do a walk thru and show me all the details of what they were capable of achieving as well as informing me of the water damage caused by our sprinkler system and the rain, I could immediately see that this was an honest and fastidious person who stands by his company. To further prove his point, Mr. Lee then openly shared with me his liability insurance and A rating with the Better Business Bureau as well as all the hundreds of incredible references through the decades of hard labor. When he offered the more than fair price for the exterior painting of our home, I immediately felt agreeable because I had such a good feeling about him and his company. Mr. Lee proved his point triple fold. The following Monday, his crew of 2 men, Abraham and Vincent, started work. It took them 5 days of intense, hard labor in the hot sun. Abraham was incredibly knowledgeable and well-informed. Both he and Vincent were so very skilled and respectful. Not a day went by in which Abraham did not keep me informed of any details or let me know when they would be departing and returning the next day. Abraham offered to paint our four sample paint colors on the walls in order to help us make a proper selection, and when the choice was still too difficult, he offered to add the potential #1 choice in the primer in order to give us a better idea. It worked, and we found the perfect color for the house. It is this kind of initiative that encourages me to continue to recommend House Painting, Inc. to friends and family. I will also hire them again for all of our interior painting needs. There were times when I would leave the house, and Abraham would remind me to lock the door. They never complained, always kept a professional and positive demeanor, and were the most respectful working houseguests for the week. When the painting, was completed, Abraham took the time to do a final walk thru with me, and when I pointed out a spot that needed some fixing on the fascia board, he immediately took to the task. After they had both left and days later, I found that the hose was placed back crookedly, they returned to my home after a long day of painting in Glendale, to amend the problem. It turned out, there was no problem. It was originally crooked. I felt so bad. In the end, the painting job is just stunning, and we are utterly so impressed and so pleased. We can't say enough positive and wonderful things about Mr. Lee, Abraham, Vincent, and House Painting, Inc. We will forever recommend them.

We got an estimate from James Lee almost a year ago. He showed us his impressive book of reviews, insurance info, and took the time to answer all of our questions and explain the process. He was very professional. It took us time to finish up some other projects before we decided to move forward with the painting. The girls from the office called occasionally to see how we were coming. They were not pushy, they were professional and following up. Finally, when we were ready to start the job, Andrew and his crew came to the house. Our house needed a lot of prep work and the crew worked for three days scraping, sanding and getting the house ready to paint. We picked a color that was very different from our original white paint. All I can say is "wow". The house looks brand new! The painters worked quickly, cleaned up each day. and did an amazing job. It took the painters 5 1/2 days from start to finish. I would highly recommend James Lee and his House Painting crews.

We booked a date for a estimate. Something came up and the time had to be changed. A call was put into the office and the office booked the estimate for the same day, but a new time. The day arrived and the person giving the quote showed up at the original time. When the office was to ask why they didn't come at the new time which was booked, there was no explanation and no apology. The next time the person would be available to come out would be several days later. Initially, that day was booked but after thinking about how unprofessional the process had been so far, we decided not to use them at all. The office was called back and the appointment for the quote was cancelled. This should have been the end of the story and I should not be writing this, but there is more. I heard a knock at the door and then immediately somebody tried the handle. Which was strange and I thought only somebody I would know would do that. I opened the door and it was the person to give a painting quote. I was a little confused and said that we didn't have an appointment but it was my husband who had made the original appointment which had been cancelled. and he said, oh this is the second time you screwed up the time, I already came out here once before. I was really dumbfounded by his aggression. Then he said can I come in and give an estimate. In that split second, I thought, why not. Might be good to have a backup plan with the current painters and we also plan on doing the top half of the house in the future. We might not be happy with the painters we had. I asked him to give me a second as I had my child in my arms. I then decided why would I want to pay a large sum of money to somebody who was already being rude to me. I opened the door and he then gave me his card. I thanked him for the card and said, look, I'm sorry, we've already booked somebody. Then he reached in the door and said, give me the card back. I said, well, you never know, but he interrupted me and said, no you don't need it, give it back. I said, I'm sorry. He angrily said, ya, I came all this way out here. I'm sure he called his office and tried to figure out something, but 30 minutes has passed and I've received no phone call from the office nor apology for this rude unprofessional behavior. It is possible to be professional and to also do a good job. I'm done employing people who are unable to act professionally. In response to the provider response below. Wow, what a bunch of lies and still, not one apology. Your company came to the first appointment AT THE WRONG TIME and WE CANCELLED THE SECOND APPOINTMENT SO THERE WAS NONE. YOU WAITED 15 MINUTES BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT EXPECTED AND IT IS NOT OK TO TRY AND OPEN A PERSONS DOOR IF THERE IS NO ANSWER. It was you House Painting INC, which made both mistakes. BOTH OF THESE APPOINTMENT TIMES WERE CHANGED/OR CANCELLED AND YOU DID NOT MAKE THOSE CHANGES IN THE SCHEDULES OF YOUR ESTIMATORS In addition: It is clearly stated that you did not give a quote nor know what the job was, this was based on professionalism. The amount listed is based on other estimates. You have no idea what the job was. But yes, you would have been by far the cheapest at 2000, so pat yourself on the back for your imaginary estimate based on square footage. In addition: The person who came to the house was not friendly. The name he gave me was not correct, another problem in communication in the office. When I realized he meant my husband and told him so, he was very rude to me. And then told me he had set two wrong appointment times (which if you read any of the above, you will see is not the case) I did not ask him too look downstairs. He asked me if he could look downstairs and I thought it might be good to have a back up estimate. And correct, upon thinking of it further, I decided I had no desire to have this rude man in my house. In addition: It was obvious the person who came to my house was very upset, grabbing the business card back from my hands and storming off while saying he had come all the way out here for nothing. He should not be surprised at all by this review. You spent two hours mistakenly trying to give a painting estimate. I am continually amazed by this company and their lack of professionalism.

Mr. Lee and his team were incredibly professional, punctual and transparent. I called for an estimate appointment and met Mr. Lee at my home a couple days later. He presented all of his credentials, insurance, and testimonials from other clients. We did a full walk through and that evening I had a quote. I will say it was a little higher than the other quotes but I was very impressed with their reviews and presentation so decided to work with them...more often than not you get what you pay for. I was at the final stage of repairing a bunch of water damage and needed to get the job started and finished in a specific period of time. The crew was always punctual, work was top notch, and they finished exactly when they said they would. I would highly recommend them and will certainly look to them for any future painting needs I may have.

The crew showed up on time and did a great job. Since ere was no water on the exterior of the building the crew had to hand scrape all exterior brick work. They repaired a damaged exterior soffit and matched the existing paint perfectly. I plan to use them for all of my painting needs in the future.

James quickly responded to request for an estimate. Her was timely, prepared and professional. He had photos of his work, documention of licenses and insurance, and references on hand and ready to share. His estimate was beyond my price range so I kept soliciting estimates. Work is now complete by another painting contractor at less than half the cost of James estimate. I am very pleased with my newly prepped and painted wood patio cover and iron fence surrounding my property.

I just called to have someone come out to do a quote. We have water damage in our bathroom. Cracks in walls in bedroom and living room and all 3 rooms need to be painted. I wanted someone to come out to give us an quote. Depending on the price. We might wait a few weeks between to do everything but all in all it's a big job will be at least over 2k for sure. The lady who called me back paused for 2 seconds told me she talked to someone and that what we are asking for is too small of a job they specialize in whole house interior painting. What a joke

Gosh, I have to say how wonderful these guys were. Absolutely everything was done well and every detail I pointed out was covered. The crew was friendly and walked me through all repairs. They were here everyday on time for 5 days. The place looks great and my neighbors and people driving by have stopped, looked, and commented on how beautiful it looks. I really can't say enough. Totally worth it and I would recommend these guys all the way!

The person came out to do the job. He didn't speak English. James Lee came out to tell him what to do. The guy starts power washing our house and gets some of the stain off in areas and then calls James Lee. James Lee calls my husband and says he's got to come home. By the time he gets there, James Lee was gone and the guy who doesn't speak English is leaving. We find out that the stain is oil-based and, according to James Lee can't be power washed off or replaced. Except, where the power washing has taken place there is stain removed. So, it does come off. James Lee says all the wood on the house has to be replaced, and left. We call about the railings. He comes back out. Looks at the railings and says that they need to be removed and powder coated. We looked into this...it's was not feasible. We talked to contractor friends who recommended a painter. He came out...sanded the railings, repainted them and sealed them. They look great. The painter who did the railings will also be redoing the front of the house. The stain will be darker than the stain that's on there, and will cover like paint. We've talked to a couple people who said there is no reason to remove all the wood simply because it's stained with oil-based stain. That's something that can be worked with and is everyday in LA. I'm not sure what the deal was with James Lee, but he didn't do any work on our house, except to make it look worse by power washing part of it, and leaving. I'm not sure why he's so highly rated by so many....our experience was a total 'F' experience.

My house is 3700 sq. ft, and it is only 15 years old...so it was a big job. He is doing a great job on the inside of my house too. I trust Andrew's opinion on color. He and the crew are great and I would hire them again. Several of my neighbors have called for bids on their house. That's how good mine looks now.

I received an estimate over 2 years ago and, as a courtesy, House Painting honored the pricing provided on my original quote. The House Painting crew arrived promptly (in fact, 30 minutes early) on the scheduled date and quickly began the project. The crew foreman was very professional and receptive of my questions and observations. He took me on several walk-throughs of the project throughout the process. I was quoted for a primer coat and two coats of color. The first coat of paint applied was the color, with no primer. It was completed for the entire front of the house before I was able to come out to review. I communicated that there was supposed to be primer applied first and the House Painting crew apologized profusely and quickly solved the issue with no argument. I did have to ask that the trenching be deepened to 6" rather than the 3"-4" I saw. The crew was diligent in cleaning up each evening and protecting my surrounds and outdoor furniture. It was estimated that the job would take 5 days. With a crew of three and summertime LA temperatures, the job was completed in 3 days. Overall, I am very satisfied with the end result and most definitely would use House Painters again.

House Painting's crew arrived promptly on the set date and wasted no time getting to work. The exterior needed a lot of sanding, sealing and wood replacement. The crew took two full days working non stop for this step. During that time they were responsive to my concerns and questions. On day three the painting started with great attention to detail. The eaves of the house were well prepared and painted. During this time all bushes and plants were covered with canvas and windows were carefully covered with plastic to prevent over spray. Every day the crew was here they worked full speed and every man knew his job. The bathroom was painted and again cabinets etc. were well covered to avoid any possible drips. All in all the crew was polite and professional. That was worth the extra dollars I may have paid for their services. I would recommend them to anyone. .

Mr. Lee and his crew were amazing! Mr. Lee came out and gave me an estimate the day after I called him and his crew was able to come out the next week. They were very thorough and professional and were even willing to do the job while we were out of town (a friend of mine supervised the job). The quality of the paint job was excellent as well. I will definitely use House Paining next time we need a pain job done.

We got two quotes but we haven't decided to do it because both prices were high. The estimate process was fine. They all came out on time and they were professional and gave us a quote. Their quote was out of our budget. They came out to quote within the time frame. Their estimate was for $6,000 or $7,000. The guy was knowledgeable. He showed us all his referrals but the price was just way out of our budget.

James and his team are incredibly professional, responsive, punctual, and do very good work. We would definitely use them again in the future!

They all were very professional and conscientious when working on site. They were helpful in there feedback to specific questions and also were very cooperative when asked to do something.

On June 26, I called House Painting for an estimate to varnish our back door. They had painted the exterior of our house in 2011. I was told Mr. Lee would call me back. I have not received a call back. I realize this is a small job but expected at least a return call since they are rated so highly on Angies List. Guess he has too many bigger jobs and doesn't have time to return calls for smaller jobs (even though that would be the professional thing to do). Will not be using them again.

The work was not done because they do not do what I was wanting o have done.
