I would like to preface with the fact that I am not one for a gushing review. I find them annoying and usually don’t care for them. But I’m writing one today for good reason. Spoke with multiple staff through the course of phone consultations, all were exceptionally pleasant. Kevin came out for a consultation on my 35 year old kumquat, lemon, tangerine, Washington Naval orange, Satsuma orange, and white grapefruit trees. All of which had been neglected for years, but with Sims, I had them turned around and happily producing heavy again after a trim (I did that) and multiple treatments over several months. I followed Kevin’s orders and in a single year we had them producing those oranges we grew up eating that were like candy. Like taking a bite of orange soda. All of the fruit was top notch with a summer, fall, and winter treatment. By spring, it’s like they hadn’t missed a minute of perfect care. I figured it would take a few years. The trees were planted by my wife’s grandfather in the early 80’s and the family hadn’t loved them as he did. But when he took a bite of the first Washington Naval… the joy on his face was pretty priceless. The point is, these folks know their stuff, and they care about you. They will get to know you, they remember you, they actually care about their customers, and they sure do seem to have a happy staff. We even had the good fortune of touring the property. The diversity of plant life, the kindness of the staff, and the guided tour we got… the fruits we got to try as many were in season… you just know you’re spending your money with good people that do good things here. Places like this are few and far between these days. Just stop shopping and call them. Don’t take my word for it. Just call them real quick. You will understand immediately what I’m talking about.

My citrus trees had something wrong with the leaves and weird insects on them. Sims came out, told me what was wrong and suggested a treatment plan. My trees look good now.

I use them all the time. I've used them for years. They're excellent.

My tree ( which is my favorite) is growing new leaves bug free. From the first call to the company to the interaction with the tree tech, I was extremely pleased with the service and professionalism they showed. They didn't try push unwanted services on me, which I appreciated. I will use them again for any tree service I may need in the future. I will also recommend them to friends.

I hire them to look over some Palm trees, apples trees and some other various trees on my property to get a professional opinion if I should cut them down. He did not know what type of apple tree I had, so I gave him some apples to get it analyze. Never heard from him again. Three months later someone calls for more business and I told them they never got back to me. He calls me back and he forgot and left the apples in the back of his truck....which by now they were rotten.

Treated my trees 9 months ago and everything went great. My trees looked great. Then this year, they kept calling and calling to come out again for routine maintenance. I finally gave in so they would stop asking. They came back to do a follow-up and used a different spray on the trees. The trees started browning and dying. They came back after I called and didn't do anything about it. The guy even told me they used a different formula this time, which ended up shocking the trees. They keep harassing me for payments but I cannot get a hold of them to save the dying trees. If I ran my business this way, I would be out of business. They are basically just blowing me off and taking my money.

He came by and evaluated my orange tree never received a report they said they mailed. Others were happy but I thought overpriced for service rendered.

Arrived on time. Very knowledgeable. Very kind about our mistakes - left me feeling far more confident about their care.

Punctual arrival, and common sense approach to what may be wrong with the tree. I had other tree service companies in the past that suggested a course of fertilizers, at quite a cost. As Sim's arborist explained, it is rather difficult to revive a tree with fertilizer when it is already dead. I had wasted my money with other companies. I will rely on Sim's exclusively for all my tree health issues.

It is a wonderful company. They treated my tree for a microorganism that gets in the flower and misshapes the fruit. It has been very effective. They were very helpful as to how to trim the trees and everything.

He was very friendly and full of information. He was saying you can probably hire someone for this but it would probably work if you did it yourself and it did. He was just very informative.

They are an excellent service. I've been using them for years. It looks like they have fixed the problem, the trees were starting to die. They were dropping sap, which has stopped, and they have stopped dropping needles. They are an extremely knowledgable company with all sorts of trees. They are the only people I turn to whenever I need any work on my trees.

We and our landscape contractor had tried several different treatments but nothing was working. The Sim's technician came out and looked at our oak as well as gave recommendations on some of our other trees. We were very close to losing our tree, but Sim's may have saved it. The technician came on time and was very courteous and professional.

I've found this to be a very professional, good company. They are educated people, and I really enjoy working with them. I'd be more than happy to recommend them to others.

I would recommend them. They work in a specialized field, and they seemed to be knowledgeable. Most importantly, the tree is now healthy.

I thought the price was way too high.

Sims normally comes about once a year. They've done a fine job for me. My trees are much healthier now, so I'll continue using their service going forward.

They are very professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. I really appreciate that they communicate well through email and voicemail, and that they follow up with me as needed.

I've followed their advice, and my tree seems to be getting much healthier.

I think they are a very good company. They are reliable, prompt, and considerate of my time because they arrive when they say they will. Also, I think their pricing is reasonable for the type of work that they do.

You can imagine our shock when we received a bill in the mail for this tree service from a company that we did not hire. The fundamental issue here is the involvement and issues from the landscape installer, Landscape Dimensions and this is the basis for my prior review and poor rating. Susan Sims contacted me in May 2011 to discuss my review of April 26, 2010. I appreciate her contact and opportunity to discuss the events of their visit, June 24, 2009. Susan defended their recommendation to apply latex paint to the wound of the tree using arborist literature, and clarified their recommendation on how to do this. She also informed me that Sims did not do the actual paint application on my tree - Landscape Dimensions did. After discussing, it is clear that Landscape Dimensions did not follow Sims recommendations well, and did a poor job with the latex paint which now largely has disfigured our tree and is not limited to just inside the wound. I explained my dissapointment in the fact that the Landscaper hired them and then told them to send me the bill - while the landscaper and their entire crew are still throwing dirt on the tree and planting (warranty issue). I would have hoped that Sims would have questioned sending the homeowner the bill in this case, but regardless, this was not their responsibility and it is Landscape Dimensions that is the root cause of the tree issues - both before and after treatment. In the end, it is clear to us that while Landscape Dimensions used Sims as their "cooperating arborist" to defend the status of the tree (and their lack of accountability for any of it), our conflict was solely with Landscape Dimensions and not Sims. I may never know exactly what should have been done with our tree, but Sims was an unknowing middleman that received a prior "F" rating by association with an unscrupulous landscape contractor. As a result, I am revising our prior rating and clarifying our response. I hope this helps others.

Michael was very professional and gave good advice about my trees. He advised me to a another good company for services he did not do. I had purchased a tree from their company and he gave advice on how to care for it. It has remained very healthy and I have been very impressed with his knowledge. I believe he is a certified arborist as well.

She is reliable, on-time and knows her work very well.

Arborist examined the tree and provided a detailed report, with photos. Report clearly outlined steps that need to be taken to care for the tree, and provided the needed guidance on what must be done if we build around the tree.

THE STAFF WAS VERY POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY EXPLAINED WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TREES AND WHAT HAD TO BE DONE TO TRY AND SAVE THEM. THEY RECOMMENDED THINGS THAT I COULD DO AND WHAT THEY COULD DO.
