METROPOLITAN HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING

Our Air conditioning went out during the 90+ degree heatwave late on a Wednesday night. Called our home insurance and the contractor they assigned me to wasn't available for 8 days due to backlog. I called on Thursday and asked the insurance to assign me another and they hooked me up with Adam at Metropolitan. He called immediately and said he could be at my house in 30 minutes. True to his word he arrived with a mask and socially distanced. Very professional and in less than 20 minutes he replaced my capacitator and air conditioning was keeping our family cool. Murphy's law, my thermostat randomly went out two days later and on a whim texted Adam to see if he could address the issue and he immediately texted back late on a Sunday night and said he would come out the next day. I can't recall any service I have had that was this responsive, respectful, and reliable. Ask for Adam, you won't be disappointed.

Run, just run. Without a doubt this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would give them negative stars if at all possible. Check my profile - I love giving positive reviews to companies that deserve them. The fan on my ac unit stopped blowing. I called my home warranty and they sent out Metropolitan. We had to wait a few days for an open appointment, which was fine, and they seemed to fix things but the next day the problem was back. Repeat this FIVE TIMES and we are still without a working ac unit, 3 weeks later. Plus, due to this company being incompetent and not figuring out the problem - we have thousands of dollars of water damage from the leaking ac unit. Please do yourself a favor and if you get assigned this company through your home warranty, refuse their service and ask for another company to be sent out. The problem still is not fixed but the home warranty has decided to send us another company, one which will hopefully be able to do their jobs properly. This company should not be in service - just horrible!

I am under contract with a home protection company. A service technician from Metropolitan Heating and Air Conitioning came out to check my AC unit for a leak I was told about the day before. I have a maintenance contact with another company (long story and a stupid move) for the heater and AC. They checked my AC yesterday and said that my coolant was about gone and I had a leak. I had them fill it back up...not cheap. The tec stated that I need all this work done for both my AC and Ducting. That is when I call my home protection company. The METROPOLITAN HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING service found the problem in about 30 sec.The service valve suction line cap was very loose. The tecnician tighten it up and done! The Metro tec was very professional and I felt like I could trust him. He was stright forward and did his job. He didn't talk smack about the other company nor did he tell me how bad the unit was and that I needed all kinds of work done. I will tell my friends about him.

Awful, just awful. I have American Home Shield, and this company contracts through them. Water was literally CASCADING down my HVAC unit, pooling underneath and ruining my hardwood floors. They were supposed to come out as an emergency, within 24 hours, but decided that they would wait from early Friday Morning until late Monday afternoon. When the service guy finally made the appearance, the water had stopped pouring out, but the pool of water was still apparent. The guy took a look and told me there was nothing wrong with my HVAC! I asked him if he saw the water pooling, he said yes, but that could be from anything. I asked him if he noticed it was over 100 degrees in my home. Yes, he replied, but that's because my air conditioning was off. (!!!) I turned it off due to the water spilling out of it! I turned it back on to show him, and he saw that water did start to dribble out, so he put tape on it and said it would be fine!!!! I called up AHS and asked for a second opinion. I will never use this company again.

I asked him in to replace the rigid gas pipe with a flexible one. There was a small crack at the bottom of my furnace. Instead of recommending a part or panel replacement, he recommended a total unit replacement costing a thousands. He left without fixing the furnace only with a recommendation to replace the unit. Expecting insurance to pay for it. The job to fix a furnace became one to look for a big contract opportunity for insurance claims. A previous HVAC inspector I got during my house purchase, did 10x the amount of inspection and tested all the units by starting them up and checking for leaks in the ducts all for the same price. He didnt even bother with any of these. Totally not recommended.

The guy was very professional and very thorough. They did the job right. I would use them in the future.

The compressor on my four year old air conditioning system brook down. I called the company who installed it (Kemmitz). Kemmitz' technician arrived the next day and told us that the compressor itself was under warranty, but the labor and other materials to fix it would cost "about $1,450. Kemmitz' technician proceeded to tell us that we needed a larger AC system at a total costs of $4,790. As they were the company who recommended and installed the same system only four years before, something seemed wrong. And so I checked Angies List and found Metropolitan Heating and Air Conditioning, with numerous favorable reviews. Upon calling Metropolitan, "NAS" (who think is the owner) responded to my voice mail within minutes. He arrived on time the next evening. He said he would have to check to see if the blown compressor were still under warranty. The following day, he called to advise that, indeed, the compressor was still under warranty, but it would take about a week to get a replacement, and that the total cost of installation would be $475. "NAS" called 5 days later to say he had the compressor, and he installed it the same day. All in all, an extremely good business experience. I most definitely would use his services again, and I recommend him without hesitation.

Nas from Metropolitan was sent to offer a second opinion on why my AC was not cooling. When he took the cover off, he asked what the first person had concluded. I told him that he said that the damage was due to the sprinkler but I did not believe that considering the fact that the area was not wet and there were even cobweb inside the box. He looked me straight in the eye and said, "You are right." He went to his truck, came back with some special wire, a dual run capacitor and the hard start capacitor. He certainly knew his way around, pulling out burn wires, connecting this here and that there. He checked the compressor and had cold air coming in within an hour. Tremendous job by a really knowledgeable, highly experienced individual.

They were very efficient. He worked quickly. He was very nice and neat. He was very knowledgeable about what he was doing. He was on time and worked quickly.
