The provider arrived on time. He informed me of what he intended to do. Performed the service. Saw during the course of the work that the faucet in the garage might have a problem, but informed me that it was not something that needed to be done right away.

I was scheduled with a 3 hour service window and they called and canceled at the last minute. Normally this would bother me a little but yesterday it bothered me alot because when I originally scheduled I explained to the customer service person that I had house guests coming the next day and my AC was not cooling well. I also told them I really only had the next day to get it accomplished because of plans that would make me unavailable. She gave me an appointment time and assured me they could do it so I bought their deal. Had I known they might cancel on me, I would have looked for another provider because I only had that day to get the service done. So I can't speak to anything about the actual service because it didn't happen. Only that for my first time using this provider, I was not very happy with the result. Later in the day they called to reschedule but I declined because my window of opportunity was gone. The customer service people I spoke with was very nice, apologized for being "overbooked" and reiterated how busy they were with lots of AC calls. But I needed someone who would keep the appointment they scheduled me for. I chose them because of so many reviews and this one experience won't keep me from trying them again but maybe first I will try one of the providers with less reviews because maybe they are not as busy. We will limp along until I can reschedule. I have asked for a refund on the deal.

I'd use again. The technician Darren was nice and knowledgable.

Two techs (one was a trainee, I think) showed up on time and were fairly transparent in their activities. Since I didn't actually see what they were doing, I have to assume that they did the work requested. A detailed report was provided at the end of the work. I was not terribly happy with a effort to sell me new A/C units, though I expected that would happen. A/C companies use "service specials" as sales opportunities all the time. Ratings note: A = "exceeds my expectations" B = "meets my expectations"

I get a call from Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. stating that they can't service both, one after the other. But that the technician would have to come out twice, at 2 different times. I thought this was nuts. She said that in the "fine print" of Angie's List, they weren't "allowed" to do 2 consecutive services. I've never heard of such a thing. The maintenance guy would already be here. Why would he have to leave and then come back? She checked with her manager, who never came on the line to talk to me (how rude!!), and told me that it was confirmed ABOUT this crazy behavior. They wouldn't do consecutive services. Then I started getting emails from Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. confirming a service date. The 2nd email finally told the truth. They wanted to charge me $89 ($20 more) for the 2nd service. But the A/C units were 6" apart. I returned to my Angie's List email and said "CANCEL THIS SERVICE". I don't want anything to do with Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning Inc . I felt they weren't being honest with me. Even the manager wouldn't talk with me. On the morning of the cancelled service, I get another call from Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning Inc , wanting to know when they should come out for service. Frankly, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. How many times do I have to cancel? They were shocked that I still DIDN'T want their service. This company has terrible customer service. They tried to get an extra $20 out of me by having their technician drive away and then return another time. I felt they were being dishonest. Also, I didn't like the "find print" statement. I wouldn't use their service again.

So far....so good////we were very pleased.

Provider would not perform tune-up without doing additional troubleshooting, for an additional charge.

The technician arrived on time. After discussing the problem I was having, the technician wanted to do a diagnostic. He determined my a/c equipment was old and that I needed a replacement, rather than a tune-up or air duct cleaning. He also provided information and pricing about a new a/c system.

It felt like a scam. You pay for the deal and then have to pay more before they come out. It did not feel right.

They only did a diagnostic test. Once this was done, they told me that I did not need the air duct cleaning or the A/C tune up.

Andrew from Kalka Heating showed up on time and was very professional. I found him very knowledgeable while we discussed things as he conducted a review of my system's current performance, its filters and its coolant levels. After determining that I was low on both systems [with no pressure (pardon the pun)] from Andrew I elected to purchase additional coolant. I always work alongside my contractors and Andrew was agreeable to my assistance and owner oversight [something I am very clear about]. I hereby award both Evette, who scheduled and followed up on the appointment and Andrew A+'s. [Note, I am NOT a relative nor did I know either of them or Kalka prior to engaging them from an Angie's list deal.

The company responded to my request to set an appointment very quickly and set an appointment the same week I purchased the offer. The telephone representative was friendly and professional. The technician Mike V. showed up on time. He too was very friendly and professional. He explained what he was going to do before beginning the work and then proceeded to examine our entire system, including the compressor outside the home, the thermostat inside the home including the vents inside the home, adjusting them as needed. He then proceeded to spent a fair amount of time inside (a very hot) attic inspecting the system there as well. Overall, Mike seemed very careful and professional. He answered our questions and was most pleasant. He even polished and waxed the top of our compressor cover, making it appear as new. After his work, he discussed his findings and opinions and made recommendations for improvements to the system. All in all, a very positive experience from a very nice and pleasant professional. Thank you Mike and thank you Kalka.

Nothing to comment on service; but all contacts were professional and courteous.

Scheduled two service calls for two different A/C units. Second unit does not need service.

I advised this company that I wasn't sure if my ac unit was running or not before they came out. When they came out, they said it was not running and they would not be able to do the tune up on a non working A/C unit. They advised that it looked like it needed new coils and would cost me $529.00 to get it running. I declined. This company has charged me for the Big Deal that I purchased as if they did the tune up when they obviously wasn't able to do any work at all. I would not use them again in the future.

The service went fine. They did exactly what the deal stated. The technician was okay, and my only problem was that I thought the coupon included a free filter and they did not have the filter on them. They were supposed to come back with the filter, but they never did. They did do a nice job and I had no issues with scheduling.

It didn't turn out very well. They didn't have very much to say other than my system was hopeless. They said I needed a new system and I felt like it was an up sell tactic. Al they did was came out and look at the system.

Scheduled appointment yesterday from 2-5pm. Provider was a no-show. I took time off from work to wait for them. No call to cancel yesterday nor follow-up today.

They were unable to schedule the service for a month which seemed a bit long. But they were very punctual for the date that was scheduled.

I saw their coupon on Angie's List and I called them to ask if I can use the coupon for the diagnosis before I purchased it. They said yes so I bought it and scheduled the appointment for Friday 7/11/14 between 2 to 5pm. The company called me around 2.30pm on Friday and re-scheduled the app to Monday 7/14/14 because the technician didn't have time. Then I got another call next day. This time they told me that I cannot use the coupon for diagnosis and they requested $59 more (by the way, I paid $55 for the coupon) and they said they need to re-schedule again all of a sudden even though I had an appointment on Monday. They misinformed me, wasted my time, and tried to charge me more.

I would give them a D overall and won’t take the time to complete anything on their behalf. The guy spent about 10 minutes looking at my A/C & told me they were rotted out, needed to be replaced along with the heating and it would cost about $10,000. He refused to recharge the coolant telling me they couldn’t because what I purchased was for coolant not fixing. Basically, they have my money for no services performed other than a house call worth about $20. I have since had a reputable dealer out who spent considerably more than 10 minutes testing my lines and the problem has been resolved. I am so disgusted with this whole situation that I am going to cancel my “membership” with Angie’s list and continue to use the people I have been using and trust.

Called day before, scheduled for 11-2 next day, with promise of 30 minute call prior to coming. No call by 2:45 so I called. Advised technician running late on another job, will come "after 4", again with 30 minute call/head's up . No call, so I again called at 4:30 - still late but coming, now en route. Arrived near 5 pm. I understand delays can occur but I cannot understand why receptionist, dispatcher or technician did not call to advise customer of delay. I wasted an entire day (technician left somewhere around 6:30) and missed a birthday reception for my daughter because I wanted to get the AC fixed. Receptionist stated "they have the equipment on the truck to fix it so it will be fixed today". No fix as options were all much higher than anticipated, with replacement emphasized. I understand this, I have had HVAC experience before and with an older system, the focus is usually on replacement. However, I will get a second opinion as I suspect there might be another option to replacement or very expensive repair.

I was really happy with the service provided by Andrew. He spent time checking the A/C system all around the house. He gave me advices on how to keep my A/C running well and answered lots of my questions. I will sure use the service from Kalka Heating & A/C again.
