Description of Work: As an Angie's List member we responded to an e-mail special for service for our air conditioner-- $69 for service and up of 1lb of refrigerant. Told our unit used old type refrigerant and when the bill was totaled it came to just under $400. Service done Friday May 29. Called to inquire about charge after reviewing the original e-mail on Saturday May 31 and told serviceman or mgr. would call. Recalled on Wednesday June 4, in the pm and got the mgr. who said the refrigerant I needed was $200 or more per lb. and I needed and that is what caused the bill which included a 10% Angie's list and a 5% senior discount. Told him when responding to a $69 offer I didn't expect such a high bill especially when the service technician didn't indicate it was that expensive. That ended the matter!

Description of Work: Kevin is a very nice guy and he did a very thorough job and everything is working fine. But my appointment was reschedule twice that meant I had to change my schedule too. He did tell me that the Angie's List special had swamp his service, and the recent heat wave we had in May brought in more orders then he thought it would. That being said I believe I would use Kalka again.

Description of Work: Air conditioning tune up through an Angie's List promotion. No other services needed. Showed up on time and was professional.

Description of Work: fixed toilet, fix leak in bathroom. In the initial meeting the Angie's coupon was used to fix the toilet and they provided quote to fix a leak in the bathroom. They came back later to fix the leak but ended up charging more than quoted.

Description of Work: They were supposed to accept an Angie's List coupon for service. They refused to do so. I had to wait on hold to for 20 minutes to cancel the coupon with Angie's List. GRR! I won't use them again. I don't recommend them.

Description of Work: Replaced joints of 7 air conditioning ducts in attic, performed routine maintenance on air conditioning unit plus replaced two parts on unit. I thought the price was high, but since I had nothing to compare against and because Kalka was on Angie's List I went with them. Otherwise everything else was exemplary.

Explained I had taken off of work and could not reschedule for the next day. Service supervisor came out to perform service. Although late in the day, service was completed expeditiously. Technicians very professional. Schedulers very polite and friendly. Would definitely use in the future.

Description of Work: The only reason I would not give them an A overall is that they looked at my furnace and said it needed to be replaced, turned off the gas, and said it could not be turned on again until the furnace was replced. I'm sure this is appropriate, but I just had the feeling they were looking to make a sale and used this inexpensive "Tune up" as a way to boost sales.

Description of Work: Bought the Angie's list coupon for a furnace tune-up. Scheduling was a breeze and Johnny showed up at the scheduled time. He explained exactly what he was going to do and went about doing it efficiently. He used "booties" whenever in the house and put down a mat where he was working to protect the floor. When he was done he explained exactly what was done and gave a written report. My furnace was fine and just needed some cleaning and a little maintenance which he did as part of the tune-up.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for $79 for an A/C Tune-Up OR Furnace Tune-Up. They didn’t do the tune up and tried to sell me a brand new system. I wasn’t satisfied and had to hire someone else for the service.
