Description of Work: THe technician was just great; spent a lot of time inside and outside in the heat. The AC did need fluid (freon?) and that was $187. The 39 was very reasonable but the $187 freon was included with the ad the week before so I thought that was pretty high considering I got had to ask for the new filter in my deal. I wanted to use them because they were local and would again as the provider was so informative and professional. They did respond with a $25 voucher for next visit...

Description of Work: After the inital work, I contracted for more extensive work which they completed in a very professinal and timely manner. There were some minor issues that needed additional attention which the company repsonded to in a timely manor. They are on the pricer side for such work.

Description of Work: Reviewed and tuned up existing ac & furnace. Was professional, very friendly, talkative. Did a great job on the tune up and provided some good info. Also asked him to bid a new complete system and his bid was REALLY high.

Description of Work: started with a coupon for coolant top-off... I asked about replacing 45 yr old compressor... and we did it along with matching condenser! Probably could have gotten it done cheaper, but the company was good to work with and did a thorough job of tuning up my ducting... oh, and they convinced me to buy an electrostatic filter... which I am seeing the benefit of already.

Description of Work: My only complaint was that the service provider came to give me an estimate for a new furnace and he game me too much information, I kept asking for the bottom line and would get more info. Their prices were competitive with other estimates I received and went with someone I had used in the past for other repair work.

Description of Work: Andrew came to my home for an AC tune up. He was very professional and explained what he was doing and why. He also offered tips to help keep my AC unit running efficiently.

Description of Work: They were super helpful in our decision as to whether to go new or repair our current AC and heating. In the end, we felt it best to go all new for warranty reasons. The warranty helped out considerably when our AC failed to work this spring. Kalka sent a guy out at no charge and had the unit up and running the same day. Turns out it was a faulty part which they replaced no charge.

Description of Work: I originally called Kalka because I had a coupon for both a furnace and a/c service. The coupon was a misprint (should have been for one not both), but they still honored it. Overall, we are very happy! They serviced both our a/c unit and furnace. They tightened a screw and added some freon to our a/c unit to prevent future leaks. We would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I spoke with Kalka heating on the phone in regards to an offer on Angie's list. They helped confirm that the coupon I wanted to use would not work with my service needed. They were honest and didn't lead me to purchase the coupon to find out later that it wouldn't work with the promotion. They also helped lead me to another offer that fit better with the service I needed.

Description of Work: Mike did an assessment of and tuneup on our A/C unit. He did a thorough job testing the system and made some adjustments. It is an old systems and he gave us recommendations of items to fix in the A/C and the furnace. He pointed out what needed attention first. However, he didn't pressure me or push to have us order on the spot. He also suggested a yearly contract, but again, did not push to sign it on the spot. He recognized that we were having other repairs done and we would have to put off this project for a bit. If and when I get the work done, I would definitely use Kalka.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Deal for an air conditioning tune up and in between the purchase and the scheduled visit the air stopped working altogether. The change in plans did not seem to phase Mike at all. He went about a thorough diagnosis, fixed the problem and alerted me to potential future issues without trying to sell me something. Their customer service is IMPECCABLE from initial engagement to the end of the service. Jen is probably the best dispatcher I've ever seen. When booking the appointment she gave me a 3 hour time window and was clear on what to expect from the service. She called the morning of the appointment to provide a more refined ETA. When the tech got a little behind schedule, she called to not only alert me but also included a new ETA. My house is an extreme challenge to find so Jen called back to tell me the tech was there. Mike took the time to ensure I had a quality education on the repairs he performed and my heating an air conditioning units in general. He answered every single one of my novice questions without seeming to be hurried. I would definitely call this company back!
