Description of Work: Our heater went on the blink and we contacted Kalka from the Angie's List directory. They came out and the technician indicated that the coil might be filled with dirt/dust and suggested a cleaning for about $500. I asked if there was any alternative to this major service because he could not confirm what the problem was. He replaced the thermostat, adjusted the gas flow and cleaned the filter to improve air flow and said this would probably correct the immediate issue that might relieve the problem for another year or so. He charged us $280 for the thermostat and the service call. I saw that the thermostat was listed on Amazon at about $65 and questioned him on the cost. He got a bit defensive and said he could put the old one back on. I said no and just asked him to be honest about the pricing of any components used in the service call. The heater has been working for the most part, but I was surprised at the costs that were suggested, but he said I could check with any company to ask how much it would be to clean the coil unit.

Description of Work: New HVAC and ducts. Damaged opening to attic. Lied about doing it. Brought ugly replacement that did not match other molding. When rejected, told to find my own person with lots of stipulations as to whether they would pay.
