provided the services of the offer, and that was fine, what we did not like was the cost proposed to us was WAAAAY high, over $300 hundred dollars from another provider, also after he left the a/c unit was not working at all, when before he came it did, so when when we got another provider to come out and do the fix for us, the new Tech told us what the problem was with A/C, appears that Kalka Heating Tech forgot to plug the unit back in when he was done.

Dispatch was polite, but could only do so much.

I had scheduled an air conditioning service for a Tuesday service between 11-2. They called at 12:05pm saying that they could be there in 45 minutes. I suggested, how about 1:00pm to make it easier on everyone since it was around lunch time. I waited and waited until 1:40pm, since no one showed up, before finally calling them. They said that I should wait as they try and find their employee. I should WAIT while they find their OWN employee? How about my time!!!! I cancelled on the spot and asked for a refund over the phone with Kalka. Nothing happened I sent emails through Angie's list for them to refund my money. I finally called them 5 days later since they never wrote back and even though they received the emails, they said that I would have to go through Angie's list. The woman on the phone said someone else handles the Angie's List question but he's not available and didn't know when he would be available. This is the worse customer service. I should not only wait while they find their personnel but I should wait for any refund. My suggestion, don't walk away from Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning but run away. Don't use this awful company.

They were able to fix it. They were fast and prompt.

There was additional work that had to be done to make it work out, and the price for that was too high.

Bought Angie's list $69 special to check AC system and provide 1 lb freon. When the sales person and technician arrived I was told the special did not apply to R-22 which is being phased out. As the unit was low on freon they put in 2 lbs of R-22 for $150 per lb. I was told by 2 other HVAC contractors that they charged $40 per lb for R-22. They also provided an estimate to replace the system with a Maytag variable speed furnace and 3 ton 16 seer AC system for $16K. This was at least twice that of other estimates subsequently received for comparable systems, although their warranty would provide 3 years labor, as opposed to 1 and 2 years labor by other contractors. Although Maytags may cost more than other manufacturers, I felt the markup was excessive. They also recommended duct sealing for an additional $2K. Both employees were courteous and positive. The technician appeared to be competant but the sales person was somewhat persistant in persuading me to agree to a purchase that day.

Showed up on time. Very professional and knowledgeable. Pleased with quality of work. A bit pricey, but overall I am pleased.

It went well. I have used the company before. They were timely and did everything I would have expected them to do.

They did a good job and were moderately timely with their contacts to schedule and follow up for bid and services.

Fellow inspected and cleaned(?) the exterior portion of our air conditioning system. To my knowledge he did not add any refrigerant. He then inspected the interior portion of the system. He then told me I needed $1,000 to $1,500 worth of repairs and maintenance work. I declined, and he left.

They came out on time and did the service. They had to replace some fluids. But, everything worked out fine. I'll probably call them back. There were additional charges beyond the big deal amount. With the fluid, I think it was a little over hundred dollars. They called up almost after I signed up for them. They were punctual. They came out and stayed with the job. I'm fine with them.

They are a little pricey, but they do a good job.

ORDER NUMBER: 1718683, DATE: 1/6/2015, CREDIT CARD PAYMENT OF $29.00, COUPON CODE HVAC-1718683-1 I CALLED KALKA HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING INC. TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT, THEY SAID THE SOONEST THEY COULD CHECK THE FURNACE WOULD BE 1/13/2015 IN THE MORNING, (THIS WOULD BE THE NEXT WEEK - BUT, I HAD ALREADY PAID BY CREDIT CARD SO I SAID THE APPOINTMENT TIME WOULD BE FINE, AND TO GO FOR THE 13TH. THE TECH CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE SAYING THEY WERE TAKING CARE OF AN EMERGENCY AND WOULD HAVE TO RESCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT??? OUR FURNACE NOT WORKING WAS A KIND OF EMERGENCY ( I GET UP AT 2AM, SHAVE AND SHOWER, AND GO TO WORK AT THE AIRPORT ) WITH THE COLD MORNINGS - I HAD TO USE A SMALL ELECTRIC HEATER. I CALLED THE TECH BACK, TALKED TO HIM, AND CANCELLED, I WILL NEVER CALL KALKA HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING INC. AGAIN. I HAVE TWO COMPLAINTS, ONE-PROFESSIONALS WHO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT SHOULD KEEP IT, AND TWO- I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY $29.00 RETURNED TO MY CREDIT CARD. THE TECH (KEVIN) TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO GET IT BACK FROM ANGIE'S LIST ??????? I CALLED A LOCAL HEATING AND AIR COMPANY AND THEY WILL BE HERE TOMORROW (1/14/2015) TO CHECK THE FURNACE.

They charged me $50 for this visit. They charged me a service fee, but not for the work this time. About a month later, it stopped up again. They charged me $245 to snake out the drain and did not charge me the service fee. The technician was very professional, but I was unhappy with the price. I am not calling them back out. They are professional and courteous, but the price is terrible and the drain is actually starting to stop up again.

I was so happy with their work that I purchased deals. They pointed out some things I needed done in the future. I plan to hire them again because they were very conscientious and did good work.

The tune-up was done decently and the tech was polite and timely. The problem I had was with the $8,000 estimate he gave to purchase a new unit. He added in a 3 year extended maintenance contract. I currently have a combined 2-ton a/c-heating unit for a 2-bedroom condo. The $500 estimate he gave me for the repair was a hundred dollars or so more than that of another company. My neighbor fixed it for $140.

They were professional and gave us a reasonable estimate of around $10,000. We liked them, but we went with another company that we had a slightly better interaction with.

They checked the ac unit and determined that it couldn't be fixed. I didn't have them do any additional work or replacement work so there were no additional fees associated with the deal.

It was fine. Their people are clean and friendly. They are truly sales people, but they weren't too pushy. The only thing was, they said I had a problem with my heater and it would need to be replaced. I told them I would get additional opinions which I did. They were fine with that. I had another very reputable provider say that absolutely nothing was wrong with my unit. I have since used the unit a number of times and it's worked fine. I used them a few years ago and had a 1 year contract. They stayed in contact with me to make sure I utilized the contract which was good. From what I can see, they have slightly higher prices than other companies though.

It was good. There was a discounted rate for the installation for the furnace. It was supposed to be all inclusive, but there was an substantial charge added for integrating the furnace into the existing system. The advertised rate was $1,900 and I ended up paying $3,000. I am a little disappointed with that aspect of the job.
