Office receptionist, technician, and the installation trio were thoroughly professional and very pleasent. They put on footies whenever they entered our home. They arrived right on time.They were very happy to discuss what was needed and what they were going to do. These men, if I get their names wrong, please forgive me, Chance, Ryan and Johnny brought sack lunches and "ate on the run". They worked strenuously without taking breaks. They cleaned up completely. They even threw in an energy saving thermostat after seeing my old one which was not part of the package cost. It was a very pleasent experience. I would not hesitate to call on them again.

The work Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. did for me worked out okay. They did a diagnostic check. They didn't really clean very much. It's kind of designed to be sort of an introduction to get their foot in your door so they can try to sell you a new unit. They were just less than satisfactory. The Big Deal was for a tune-up, but he didn't really tune anything up. He just told me what needed to be replaced. I made an appointment with them for the following week, but they never showed up.

The technician was prompt and thorough, and took time to show me things and explain them to me. He laid out various options for things that could/should be done. There was a little bit of pressure to sign up to do some of those things right away, but we don't have the money at the moment so I resisted and he didn't pursue it further. We will probably do the most important items in a few months.

They tried to sell me a home protection warranty because my unit was not working to full capacity and could break at any time. The housing of the unit is rusted near the bottom. They wouldn't discuss it with me alone, my husband had to be present. The owner told me they really wanted to sit down with both me and my husband. I told them to send me the proposal. They never sent me a proposal. They continued to tell me that everything is "old" or the "old designs" trying to get me to replace things. My house is only 12 years old. Additionally, I later found out they are with the same company as Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.

It went very well, very informative tech. Don't feel good about calling them because they are geographically so far away from me. The first tech said they might be opening a shop in north OC but the second tech did not know anything about it.

The service appointment went very well - prompt arrival and detection of the problem and then started repairing right away. Luckily for us it was a more inexpensive switch that needed to be replaced on one unit and both units were very low on freon. All-in-all the service call went very smoothly and we had cold air running after about 45 minutes of work.

The tech that came out was truly a conscientious man named Chance. He explained all that he was doing with the AC unit, the thermostat and tips for maintaining the unit. He climbed into the attic to check the heater unit and cleaned out the air filter. All in all a very thorough service but the young man was outstanding.

I contacted this provider based on the reviews and they were great. The lady that answered my call was very friendly and knowlodgeable. She secured in a appointment for me on a very short notice. The tech. showed up on time and gave me a courtesy call prior to arrival. Although I only asked him to give me an estimate on a new unit, he thoroughly checked the unit and the furnace, including one in the attic. He pointed a few more concerns and promptly gave me an estimate for those items. He did not try to over sell any unnecessary items. Once we close on the house, I will be contacting them to proceed with the work.

The service tech, Marc was very professional and did a great job. He explained everything to me as he went about his work. There was no up-sell of services which I appreciated. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Adam was clean, polite, knew what he was doing, made a few suggestions to avoid future problems and was very satisfactory.

The service turned out fine. They came out as soon as I called them. I just paid the price of the big deal. They were excellent.

He was very professional. Jose was really good. He was very polite. He was very helpful. When I asked questions, I got good answers. I called them originally because the front faucet that I was going to water the lawn with did not work. The sprinklers that I haven't used in a long time were leaking. He had to cut that off and disconnect the sprinklers. That was okay. While he was waiting for a bit of equipment that would trace the pipes, he flushed out the water heater and found that when that had been installed several years ago, they used galvanized piped and you're not supposed to use that with copper. When he found it, the output in the house was clogged up very badly. There was a very, very small area that was left because of this electrolysis. So he had to replace all of the piping with copper. He had to sauter it so it was an all day job. He worked out in the hot sun for the faucets and dig, nasty work. I was really astounded at how much work he did. He had to move the water heater to get back there. He wanted to make sure that it hadn't gone back to the rest of the house because it was all copper piping. He put a big mat down. There wasn't any problem there. He cleaned everything up fabulously afterward. He even cleaned the top of the water heater. I think I got a good deal on price.

The repairman was very prompt and timely. He was very professional. He informed me of what he planned to do. He told me about a part that was still working but might need to be replaced within a year and gave me the option. I asked him to take care of it at that time. He took a couple of hours to get both the servicing and repair done. The overall experience was very positive.

The Technician from Kalka Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. was very kind and a con-artist. We had the unit evaluated by two other HVAC specialists, not from Angie's List and they stated the following: Unit is free of corrosion and is actually one of the cleanest unit they have ever inspected. The unit was tuned and repaired for $388.00. Connection to the fan motor was loose. Once the connections were adjusted, the NEW HVAC TECHNICIAN, shortened the combustion pipe, so products of combustion would flow properly, insulated the AC pipe on the HVAC unit. Not only does the unit run perfectly. The unit meets all current safety regulations and no carbon monoxide was or has been detected and they even placed a two year warranty, on the work completed. Unfortunately we will not be using Angie's List in the future.

Kalka provided a great experience. I placed a call on Saturday morning because our air conditioner stopped working on of course one of the hottest days of the year. Jessica was very helpful and was able to arrange for Marc to come out to our house within a couple hours. I received a 30 minute courtesy call prior to arrival. Marc arrived on time, well dressed, and courteous. He wore shoe covers in our house and was polite to the family. He repaired the problem within about twenty minutes and we finally has cold air back. He tested the remainder of the system to make sure everything was fine. This was the best repair experience we ever had. I would highly recommend this company for any heating and cooling issues. They also introduced me to the sister plumbing company for which I have scheduled an appointment.

We had called when our heater stopped working. With an 18 month old and a 93 year old living in the house at the time we were anxious to get heat back up. The service person looked at the heater and then showed me where the 27 year old heater had cracked between the heating chamber and the ventilation. He recommended replacing the heater. We had known that the AC didn't work, but we were also not pleased with it's placement on the exterior of the house. We were advised that it would be cheaper to replace both at once than to replace each individually. We agreed, selected models with the help of the service person, and began installation. More installers arrived and the entire crew remained until after 9 PM to ensure that we had heat for that night. We were very impressed, and very thankful.

Based on prior service with these guys they seem to have great service and quality but expensive pricing and i get the feeling they try to upsell you and the angies list coupons are a way to get in the door and start the selling process. I may be wrong but thats how it seems. So I schedule the ac tuneup that i bought the angies list coupon for and they came and did it. Chance the technician was professional, on time etc. He did the work, pointed out some things that I may want to fix now or later and offered the monthly service plan which i declined. All ok so far. Then to give me an estimate to replace the digital programmable thermostat he got a a pre-pricing sheet (just like all the rip-of plumbers use) and told me $331. I told him he had to be joking right. Several angies list reviews show Kalka have previuosly done this work for $99 or so, the thermostat itself only costs $30 to $50 and it involves unscrewing 3 wires, 2 screws taking out old unit and putting in new unit and testing. He offered to double check the price with the office but they did not answer. i went online and showed him several cost sites where the most expensive high end installation was 229 and average much less. So i declined the work which is a pain for me because now i need to get someone else to do it. I can only think Chance made a mistake and showed me the wrong price sheet. If they really are now charging 331 to replace a thermostat thats excessively high. So once again I feel let down by Kalka. There is no doubt the owner is trying to do things right and their guys are clean, punctual, well trained etc and probably do high quality work. I just wish their prices did not feel so excessive.

Bought the $39 Angie's List "Big Deal" Spring A/C tune-up & 15-point inspection from Kalka Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. March 21, 2012. In August we called Kalka on a Friday evening about 5:45pm and told Mara that our A/C was only blowing cool air-no refrigeration. 10 minutes later the owner, Kevin Kalka, called us and would send out a Tech the next day, Sat. Tech Adam Martinez arrived timely, was neat and clean and would not step into our home without first putting on protective booties over his shoes. Adam was very personable and asked us to accompany him on a tour of our home's exterior & interior pointing out the furnace, a/c unit and vents inside the home. He went right to work inspecting the equipment. Afterward, he discussed the Good, Bad and Ugly with us. Adam was quite professional, courteous and knowledgable about his craft. He explained our furnace and a/c operations and shared his findings with us. The Good: We had a good 14 year old Rheem Air Conditioner and Gas Furnace. The Bad: There were some parts in the A/C Unit that were starting to show wear and there were burn marks at Contact Points. Our Plenum needed to be taped and sealed to keep cold and hot air in the ducts. The outside fan motor was leaking lots of oil and should be replaced. The Ugly: A new Starter Kit was installed. A new Universal Fan Motor was installed. The Plenum was resealed. What started out to be $39.00 ended in almost $934.00 worth of work. We feel that Kalka was professional, skilled and did a good job. The technician that came to my home was professional and very nice. He explained everything to me in detail. My heater was too old to really be helped by a tune-up, but he did what he could and gave me a quote to either repair or replace the unit. I ended up using another company to get the work done.

Our condo was built in the 80s. And we haven't upgraded much of the amenities since. And since we never use our air conditioner, we just assumed that it was broken. So we called Kalka because it had the highest reviews on AngiesList. Within a few days, Chance from Kalka came out. Chance is a young friendly energetic guy. He showed up on time and he was conscientious about the cleanliness of our home so he put on some shoe booties before he walked in. He carefully explained what he wants to do and expertly went through his checklist to diagnose the root of the problem. Within minutes, we know that 1)our conditioner was still functional 2)our air filter hasn't been changed since 1980s 3)our thermostat is the source of the on/off problem He then recommended Nest as the current state of the art (even though he doesn't offer it). He told me how to put it on should I buy Nest. From beginning to finish, it was less than 1 hour. I am impressed by Kalka's training and by Chance's professionalism. I'd recommend Kalka to anyone else in Socal.

We purchased a $99 big deal, and we did not pay any additional charges. They easily came back out when we had an issue with it, and they did not even charge us for that either. They were very nice and very thorough. We did not buy any services other than that deal.

All went very well. The service man who came was very knowlegeable, courteous and informative.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were fine and I would use them again.
