The company responded to my request to set an appointment very quickly and set an appointment the same week I purchased the offer. The telephone representative was friendly and professional.
The technician Mike V. showed up on time. He too was very friendly and professional. He explained what he was going to do before beginning the work and then proceeded to examine our entire system, including the compressor outside the home, the thermostat inside the home including the vents inside the home, adjusting them as needed.
He then proceeded to spent a fair amount of time inside (a very hot) attic inspecting the system there as well.
Overall, Mike seemed very careful and professional. He answered our questions and was most pleasant. He even polished and waxed the top of our compressor cover, making it appear as new.
After his work, he discussed his findings and opinions and made recommendations for improvements to the system.
All in all, a very positive experience from a very nice and pleasant professional.

The service went fine. They did exactly what the deal stated. The technician was okay, and my only problem was that I thought the coupon included a free filter and they did not have the filter on them. They were supposed to come back with the filter, but they never did. They did do a nice job and I had no issues with scheduling.

It didn't turn out very well. They didn't have very much to say other than my system was hopeless. They said I needed a new system and I felt like it was an up sell tactic. Al they did was came out and look at the system.

They were unable to schedule the service for a month which seemed a bit long. But they were very punctual for the date that was scheduled.

I would give them a D overall and won’t take the time to complete anything on their behalf. The guy spent about 10 minutes looking at my A/C & told me they were rotted out, needed to be replaced along with the heating and it would cost about $10,000. He refused to recharge the coolant telling me they couldn’t because what I purchased was for coolant not fixing. Basically, they have my money for no services performed other than a house call worth about $20. I have since had a reputable dealer out who spent considerably more than 10 minutes testing my lines and the problem has been resolved. I am so disgusted with this whole situation that I am going to cancel my “membership” with Angie’s list and continue to use the people I have been using and trust.

I was really happy with the service provided by Andrew. He spent time checking the A/C system all around the house. He gave me advices on how to keep my A/C running well and answered lots of my questions. I will sure use the service from Kalka Heating & A/C again.

We had a little bit of a problem getting scheduled, but they stayed right on top of it. We had a really hot spell that hit and there were a lot of people whose units were out, so I told them to take care of people who had no AC first. So they did come a little later, but that was just fine. Everybody was very nice and courteous. They checked out everything and cleaned my filters. The deal was great!

My tech was great, though it took much more time than I had allowed, though that was due to my system and his diligence. My only concern was the estimate and response to the intervention (I am a little jaded, so take that into consideration.) I was told my furnace was unsafe and he turned it off. I believe that is true, however the package for a new system and the conversation bothered me. I was told I could not get a better deal anywhere that would do a job as well as they would. I am all for company pride but leave that to me to decide something so subjective. And when all was said and done, the prices he quoted were not written on anything, so it really was not a quote. So I can't say it was an official sales pitch.
I will say that no-one has called to pressure me into a decision, which I appreciate quite a bit.
I still give them an " A" because for the work he did for the money was well beyond the call of duty.

The service did not go well. They were not able to work on our split AC because they were not familiar with it. I had to pay an additional $90 for them to even look at my system. I even had to beg him to bring the price down from $240. The technician did come out and took a look at the system. He was professional and seemed to know what he was talking about. I was rescheduled 3 times so scheduling did not go very smoothly. From beginning to end, the service did not go well at all.

The service went well. I actually had them replace some parts for the unit for an additional fee. I thought the fee was reasonable. They were very fair, honest and happy to explain things. I had no issues with scheduling and they showed up on time.

Installation workmanship and quality seemed very good. When testing, I thought fan was blowing too slow but was assured it's a variable speed unit and would adjust itself. Had to call back several days later to have them increase blower speed. Several weeks later we found water dripping from the evaporator coil through the return duct and all over the kitchen floor. The evaporator drain pipe was clogged. $7,800 worth of new gear installed and they left the old, clogged drain pipe. Installed a couple of feet of new PVC to fix. A few weeks later, the entire system died. Couldn't even get the fan to turn on. Was told a bad switch in the outdoors compressor blew an internal fuse in the blower unit. Replaced relay/switch in the compressor and everything worked again. Charged me $230 for the switch. This is a 24V, 30A switch/relay that's all over the internet for $25. When I complained, was told I was mistaken about the price and, besides, only licensed contractors can buy the switch.

The service was fine and technician was great. However, I would have hoped that they could offer their services on weekends. Fortunately, I had the week off and didn’t have any problems scheduling with them. They also showed up on time.

Customer service reps were very friendly and professional when making the appointment. Service tech was also very friendly, and seemed very knowledgeable. The only reason I would hesitate to use them again is their integrity with their pricing.
After determining what repairs should be done for my a/c, the service tech said he thought the price would be $180. He did the job then said, "let me go get my price book" to confirm the price. He came back from his van after 7-10 minutes, without a price book, and said the job was actually $255. But, he said that he saw I had a credit for $75 so my total would still be $180. Well, isn't that convenient for Kalka.
I had bought their $29 deal through Angie's List, which included a service call AND a $79 credit towards repairs. So just know that if you buy the deal, 1) the price does not go towards the repairs the way most providers' service charge does, and 2) they'll simply inflate the price of the job to account for the credit you should have.
Very disappointing.
P.S. The nitrous blast also caused a ton of rusty, mucky water to spray out of my bathroom sink on to, well, everything in the bathroom. The tech and I spent 25-30 minutes wiping everything down to clean it up. That wasn't ideal, but I could overlook the annoyance if the pricing had been on the level.
