They scheduled the appointment for Monday, and no one contacted me to confirm the appt, so I had to do that. Then I was told the technician would be late, after 5PM. I took off early from work to meet them, and no one showed up, and no called me to tell me that they were not coming over. Waste of time dealing with them.

Said they could get someone out on a Sunday as long as I was willing to pay an upcharge. I was willing, and until 9 PM they insisted they could get someone out, but then finally admitted they couldn't. Promised first thing next day, and that everything needed for the job would be on the truck. 3 hours late, nothing was on the truck, and they only sent one tech who proceeded to wrestle the old unit out by himself. When the replacement arrived, they had no lumber and the wrong base pan. After the job took 3 times longer than they said it would, Kalka didn't honor the quote they gave me, but came in hundreds higher. They tried to appease me, but still didn't honor the quote. I had to leave town, which was why I wanted the job done Sunday. After they were done, the water pressure was awful, because they hadn't opened the main shutoff all the way, which they only realized on their second return after they first treated my wife like an idiot. Only reason it isn't an F is the heater works.

As part of my contract from last year, Kalka sent their plumber/water heater repair contractor to flush out my water heater. They said it could not be flushed, and I needed to have a new water heater, through this one was only 5 years old. They also tried to sell me water treatment equipment. The entire job of replacing the water heater and putting in water softening equipment would run about $5000. I decided to get a second opinion with a contractor with Home Depot. The Home Depot sent a contractor they used for installation /repair of water heaters to my home. Their service technician showed me how the water did drain from my water heater if you turned on the valve, and that I did not need a new water heater. He cleaned out some of the sediment and replaced the original water heater, though he brought out two water heaters as I originally told him I needed a new one. He was upset that the Kalka Water heater contractor tried to sell me a new water heater and water treatment equipment when he didn't open the valve to flush out the water heater. Kalka's contractor wanted to charge me about $5000. The contractor from Home Depot charged me $300 for the water heater flush and cleaning. I've had no problems since.

The provider did not perform any services, and canceled our appointment 3 hours before our scheduled appointment. The reason they provided is that they are overbooked, and I fall too low in their priority of customers, so they will put other customers as priority.

My A/C fan was not turning on automatically nor was it cooling off the house. Service was performed by Jose. He was extremely personable and fast. He explained everything that was needed and gave me a detailed estimate of all of my options. We chose to repair the unit instead of replacing. In addition to the repairs, he cleaned the unit as much as he could.

It was fine. It was all good. One technician came out that day.

I had Kalka Heating & Air install a new furnace for my home on 2/26/14 and wrote a favorable review for them (see above). On 3/2/15 Huntington Beach experienced a fantastic hail storm and , by coincidence, I happened to be home. The temperature dropped precipitously. I went to turn on the heat. I could hear the furnace turn on, but no hot air. Called to request service. The technician visited the home on March 4th, 2015 and diagnosed the problem. Faulty ignition kit. The charge would be $386.00 for labor, parts covered under warranty. When I asked if there was any flexibility, since I reported it 4 days out of warranty, I was told NO. Even if it was 1 day out of warranty they still would have to charge. I asked the technician to talk to his office since I thought this was bad customer service. He called me back and said that his boss told him to waive the $59.00 service call and I paid $328.00. I was not happy about it, but did not want my family to go without heat. My warning to all: Please test your system before the warranty expires. There is no forgiveness from this company.

The work turned out fine. They were fine. I did not pay anything more than the $39 of the big deal.

Since the manufacturer provided the part, I was very dissatisfied with the labor cost.

I had bought the Angie's service for a AC check of the system. Of course there was something that needed to be done. I thought the $169 was a little high for the recharging, but I with the price of the System Check I figured it worked out.

They came back install the new chip and gave us several suggestions on how to fix the rest of it.

Everything turned out well. I would use them again.

They were on time, returned my calls in a timely manner and the work was done with no extra charges.

I had the feeling that he wanted to install a new one. I wanted him to fix the old one. His estimate was high. He wanted to charge me $1,000. I would not use him again.

I called the company to get a diagnosis on what caused my upstairs 20 yr old furnace to stop working. Jennifer answered the phone and we set up an appointment to have a technician come. Jennifer was a pleasant and professional customer service rep. I also received an email confirming my appt time and the name of the tech, Jose. The email included pictures of Jennifer and Jose. Nice touch. Jose came out around 9 AM and was very professional. Put on shoe booties without being prompted when entering the home. I went up in the attic with him and he checked all the equipment and diagnosed it as a burnt out motor. Also, the capacitor was weak so he suggested I may want to have that replaced. He quoted me a price of $1104 to have both of those items replaced. Then he stated that they could replace the entire furnace for $2974 and the work could be completed on the same day. Jose is a very good salesman and he convinced me after a little give and take on the price that he could do it for $2600 out the door. I knew this was on the high side but for convenience sake I bit the bullet and said okay. The installers, Richard and Eddie, came out around 1 PM on the same day to start the installation. They too were very friendly and professional. They laid cloth on the carpet, wore shoe booties and treated the house with respect. Total install took about 4 hours and the furnace is now working. I would recommend them again if you don't mind paying a bit more compared to other HVAC companies.

That was very basic and it was fine. I would use them again.

I bought a Big Deal for $39 for a Spring A/C Tune-Up and 15-Point Inspection!

Purchased the big deal for Furnace and A/C tune-up for $160. We had to wait over 5 weeks for the tune-up. This seems a bit excessive. We have a dual-zone system, so I expected to pay double and we did. Our home inspector was concerned about the evaporator drains not having plumbing traps and that the drain lines were not properly sloped. I wanted Kalka to address this. However, the technician was more concerned with big ticket items, like cleaning/replacing the evaporators or installing starters on the A/C unit. Neither of these were necessary (the house is only 18 years old). I eventually did get the technician to install plumbing traps. That work would cost $456. I thought this was steep, but I wanted it done so it would not be an inspection issue in the future. I asked the technician how long it would take and he said less than 30 minutes! $456 for 30 minutes of work and a little PVC pipe? I checked the work later. He did install traps, but not with the U-section. Also he did nothing to improve the slope of the drains. Finally, the big deal was supposed to include new filters, but the new filters they provide are so bad that the technician recommended that we don't use them. This company is a joke. Don't use them.

they were prompt and professional and pleasant to work with. we only have positive feelings towards their work.

I would have scored them an "A" but the helper that was working with the experienced worker was his 1st day on the job. I had them comeback and do an inspection with fresh experienced eyes to make sure the job was done right which they did and it was.

Looked at furnace. Said we should replace. Got a second opinion who said there is nothing wrong with it. It's been working fine.

They contacted me, I explained what I wanted, and they came the following week to do the work. The price was cheaper than another quote I received. The service was good. They were fast and completed the work in one day. One of the technicians arrived in the morning and stayed late in the evening to ensure it was done properly. They have called to follow up but I have no problems with the work. I will probably sing up for their annual maintenance plan because it is a good deal.

The office called to let me know that Johnny was on his way. When he arrived, he put on booties over his shoes before he came in--love this! Our furnace is in the ceiling in the kitchen and the ceiling is 12 ft--no easy trick to reach it. He brought the ladder needed to do the job, completed his maintenance and then cleaned the 3 air filters that are so important to the proper functioning of the furnaces. He reminded me re the cost for the maintenance before he started and that's exactly what I paid. On time, professional, and knowledgeable. This was the 2nd time I used this company and I'll definitely use them again.

The installer arrived on time and provided the necessary pricing. Yes, I was shocked to see that to replace the two spigots and two valves it would cost $812 + a service charge of $59 !! Purchasing a membership resulted in a final price ( excluding membership ) of $771 ( $732 for the 4 items above and the $39 service charge ( reduced from $59 because of the membership )). I should have just cancelled the appointment there and then and paid just the service charge, Yes, the work was done without any issues and yes I was informed of the cost prior to starting but for the work that was done, the cost was ridiculous. No, I will not use them or recommend them to anyone. If you need images of what was done to get an idea of the work completed, just let me know.

He went to great links to look for any other problems that could exist. He was quick and thorough. I would definitely use this company and this technician again.
