This review is going to be a bit different from the other ones here because I wasn't a customer; I worked for Cameron as a piano teacher a couple months ago. On the surface, Irvine School of Music is very professional, all the teachers I've gotten to know there are all great people. It's really too bad Cameron doesn't have the moral fortitude needed to be a business owner. Or at least an honest business owner. I won't go into all the details here but basically, he took an issue with me writing about the advantages and disadvantages of commercial music studios on my own website and wanted to fire me. Not because I violated the contract, or for my teaching ability, but for speaking frankly about the commercial music studio landscape in general on my own website. And instead of talking to me about it--I think it's because even he knows his reason for firing me is petty and unreasonable--he lied to me about my students and then he lied to all my student's parents about why I wasn?t there. I guess I should have known this about him when he told me to lie to my students on our first lesson. I didn't. The parents that were lied to can back up both my character and the things I talked about. If you are considering taking lessons here or are currently taking lessons here, I hope you?ll consider searching out these teachers privately; it?ll cost you less, most of them will even travel to your place for lessons if needed, and most importantly, none of your money goes to support an dishonest business owner. Ps. I read a negative review on Google and Cameron?s response to it. He takes the negatives and used it as an opportunity to spin it into a positive one. If the article was written in anticipation of their relocation that means the inaccurate descriptions in the article were provided by Cameron himself. I doubt the journalist would consider the ISM room to be a concert hall. Also, the negative review is right, there are five classrooms. I guess in Cameron?s effort to better serve the needs of the students and teachers he got rid of a room? My guess is Cameron included the office and front desk area as a ?classroom?. PPs. Cameron might not be a bad piano teacher, but most parents want their piano teachers to do more than just teach piano; they want a good role model for their children also. And it?s on that front, as you can see for yourself, Cameron fails miserably on.
Description of Work: Taught piano lessons to wonderful children and parents.
