After listening to multiple ads from as many mortgage companies I decided to refinance my home with Greenlight. At first the process seemed to go well, but then communication stopped for weeks. Finally I was told my processor was no longer there, and another person took up my file. Then they told me not to buy anything on credit since the file was in underwriting, and so I missed out on some lucrative promotions I would otherwise have taken advantage of. More weeks passed by, and they then proceeded to ask for some of the same information I had already given them! To make matters worse, since the processing had taken so long they wanted another full years worth of documentation. They never did make the loan, stating "customer withdrew application", which wasn't the case. This was not a hard loan to make -- excellent credit, plenty of income, low loan to value. At least they paid for the appraisal.

The experience has been awful. The most disappointing aspect of the ordeal was their lack of honesty and integrity. The last item for our file, the appraisal, came in three weeks ago and we were told everything was in place. The few minor items Greenlight requested were supplied immediately. Despite daily phone calls to the loan consultant, his manager, the closing coordinator "manager" and the retail sales director, the file sat on a desk collecting dust. Our loan consultant was typically the only one who ever answered or returned our calls, but he often didn't have answers. The closing coordinator continually lied to us about the progress of our loan, saying she was ordering docs while she know the file hadn't even been to underwriting. Three times over the past two weeks we were told to expect loan docs the next day only to have our calls go unanswered. We nearly lost this deal entirely because of Greenlight's lack of performance. Although they have done several successful refi's for me in the past, I will not use them again because of the insincerity with which they handled this purchase loan. I am a Real Estate professional of 30 years and have worked with dozens of lenders. I have never seen such ineptitude.
