+ -1 moreGary did a great job. He figured out the problem right away and was in and out within two hours. He was clean and very professional. He had all the parts in his truck, which saved a lot of time. I would highly recommend him to friends and family.
Description of Work: Gary needed to find what was cause a fog horn like sound. He found the problem right away. He changed the insides of two toliets and some caulking.

+ -1 moreWhen I called him to come out to get an estimate he wanted me to send a picture to him. I could not send a picture because I was not at the home at the time. He said that he would not perform the service because I rent the property out on occasion when I am out of town. He then began to argue with me and curse at me. He then cursed about my family and then he said eff you and eff your family and hung up on me.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal. I had called him to come out to get the work completed.

+ 0 moreWe had what seemed to be a slab leak in the backyard - the planter was filled with water even after the gardener had capped off the sprinklers. Had a "name-brand" plumber come out and was told they will need to rent a machine to break up the concrete patio to look for the leak and it'll be $4k - $5K. I searched on Angie's List right away and saw Moses' plumbing offering a $100 whole house tune up and had them come out to take a look at the leak and also inspect the whole house since we have several major issues we knew of but had never taken care of. Gary and Luis came out and were able to identify the leak right away, drilled a few holes in the wall to cap off the leaks w/o ever having to destroy our concrete patio! The cost was less than half of what was quoted by the other company! We took the opportunity and had all the "issues" in the house taken care of, too.
Description of Work: Fixed leak in planter and all plumbing issues inside house.

+ -1 moreIt was a horrible experience. The technician does not give accurate opinion for work. He suggested some work to be done, and additional cost is requested. After the first attempt of fixing, they suggested additional work to be done with additional cost. But no improvement of condition was guarantee. I was upset and argued with the manger on the phone, they finally agreed that if the additional work did not help improve the condition, they will not refund the full charge. So I agreed to it. However, in the end they realized the diagnosis was incorrect and should reversed everything they have done for the whole time.

The representative was very helpful, and when we told her that we needed a plumber to reignite our water heater, she volunteered to find one for us. She found Moses Plumbing, which was offering a $100 discount for a ?Plumbing Tune-Up, Water-HeaterFlush, Toilets and More,? and we decided to hire them. The workmen were prompt and arrived the day that we called. We found them to be polite and very competent, explaining to us clearly what should be done for the safety and efficiency of our plumbing system and how much each item would cost. They were persuasive and we agreed with all their recommendations. The total bill came to $1,920. Given that our house is about 20 years old and had apparently not been updated by previous owners, the price seemed reasonable for all their labor and new parts installed. And before they left, they cleaned up all the places where they had worked. I rate them very highly.

+ 0 moreGary made sure I understood the first procedure he would perform and up front cost. If no success, he would go to the second procedure, up front cost. He also examined inside toilet tanks and advised me to remove and replace one wax seal and flapper, cost for parts. Reset water pressure for flushing. Extra work beyond Job 1 Moses Plumbing has removed and replaced all kitchen pipes in February 2015. Also cleaned and flushed washer pipes.
Description of Work: Clogged toilets. Gary explained the two (2) possibilities causing over flow of water.

+ -1 moreGary sent his crew out and explained there would be a minimum $200 fee for the estimate, which would be taken off if we went with his services. We accepted the estimate and the work was started. I had asked Gary (never actually met him, all by phone) when I first called if he would do the dry wall repair. He said yes, they did it all. I picked his company based on this info. When the work was started, I called him after he had spoken with his crew, and he estimated the dry wall repair would be approximately $250. We agreed and the work was completed. Then, I discovered his crew does not do the dry wall. He sent a dry waller out who estimated it would be over $2000! We were flabbergasted! The main problem was we screwed up by not getting a written estimate to start. If you use him, insist on a written estimate before starting work. His crew requested cash payment when done, but were unable to give us a receipt (?) so we gave them a check. Gary said he would get us the written receipt the next day. It did not arrive until over 3 weeks later after we had called many times, and although he said it was discounted for Angie's list, we have no idea if it was. We did have a problem where the pipe was put outside the wall under the cabinets, and we had this repaired by another person after his team thought it wasn't a problem. He said he would reimburse us $100 for the other person to do the repair, but he did not. As for the dry wall, we had it done for $650.00 by another person who did a great job. If you use them, get everything in writing up front. In spite of all this, Gary was always polite on the phone. It would have been better if he had done the estimate in person and provided a receipt upon payment.

+ 0 moreDiscovered the leak at 9:00am. By 11:00, Louis was here. By mid-afternoon he was gone leaving a small hole in the drywall and a hole outside in the stucco where the pipe rerouting occurred. He was very courteous and professional, explaining each step along the way along with the estimate. All-in-all, it went very well, as far as slab leaks go. By the way, this was the 2nd time I used Moses. The first was a much smaller problem (clogged kitchen drain) but the results were exactly the same: responsive, courteous, professional and the problem was resolved.

Description of Work: Gary Inspected all of the plumbing in the house and yes, drained the Water Heater; he gave ne some very good advise on making the Water Heater More efficient and SAFER. Inspected toilets and tuned them up where needed and on cleaning the Hard water that had built up in the drain. Explained other maintenance procedures that would make our water usage more productive. Gary is honest and integrity.

+ -1 moreI called on a Friday afternoon and Gary answered right away. I explained the problem and he asked for me to text him a photo of the leak so he could assess. He called me back within 5 minutes and told me exactly what needed to be done. He was finishing up a job near my house and said he would stop by after. He showed up right on time as he said he would and fixed the leak. While he was here my husband wanted me to ask about our low water pressure. Gary checked everything out and did a quick fix that did increase our water pressure! He also noticed corrosion around our valves and recommended we fix these within the next six months. Beyond doing a great job, Gary was very friendly and took his time to explain what was happening to me. I was also very fortunate that he came quickly and worked late on a Friday. This was one of the most painless repair calls. Thank you.
Description of Work: We needed to replace a leaky hose bib and detach an old sprinkler system.

+ -1 moreThe technician that came to my home was very nice and was very enjoyable to work with and talk to. Once he had his findings of what needed done to the plumbing in my home the technician put me on the phone with his boss. This is where things went south, after speaking to his boss, who seemed to be the owner as well, he gave me a quote for how much it would be to fix the things his technician found. When I told him I would like to think about it and do some research he he became very rude, he told me I was getting a great deal and that "there was nothing to think about". When I told him that I am sure he was giving me a good deal but I just did not know if what they were recommending was really required he said "well if you don't decide now I will take the discount away". When I told him that I would still like to think about it even if that meant losing out on his discount he hung up on me. He called me back a few days later to "check to see if I wanted them to provide the services previously quoted" when I told him that I thought the discount was gone he said "if you decide to have us perform the services we previously spoke about I will honor the discount". I told him I still had not decided, and he hung up on me again. When I called him back to see if he hung up on me or if the line was disconnected, he picked up the line and hugnup again. This deal was a joke, I basically paid for them to come out to tell me what they thought needed fixed and how much it would be.
Description of Work: The provider came and looked at all my plumbing as part of the deal i bought.

+ 0 moreThey were awful! They were supposed to fix toilets which they screwed up even more. They didn’t have proper equipment, so they said they would come back. They never came back. They didn’t do the water heater flush. They also didn’t show up for an appointment and didn’t call to say they weren’t coming. I had to take care of it myself.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal from them for four toilet tune-ups, water heater flush and whole house plumbing inspection.

+ -1 moreGary and his team were outstanding. I called first thing in the morning and Gary came out within two hours, right at the time he stated. Gary walked me though what was causing the issue, fully explaining and showing what had happened and my option to for fixing along with the cost for each option. Gary also walked through the home and providing us with an overview of other plumbing issues that may prove to be an issue later on. He did not pressure us to make any of the repairs nor to pick one option or the other. Clean up and follow up by Gary and his plumber was great. Will definitely use Moses Plumbing again!
Description of Work: Detected and repaired a leak under the slab in one of the bathrooms. Replaced corroded pipes, water pressure gauge, hose bib, and water connections under sinks.

There was some confusion over the included items in the toilet rebuild and provider ended up charging me extra about the $99 angie's list deal. This was eventually reconciled in the price of the next service that was provided. The overall price of the service was a bit more than other quotes, but the work was quality.

+ -1 moreOverall, the entire process went very well and was completed with high quality at a reasonable price. I would definitely do business with them again. Everything that they did was exactly what I would expect when working with professionals.
Description of Work: I suspected that there might be leak in one of our showers on the second level of our home. There was a dripping sound that didn't happen before and it sounded like drops of water hitting a puddle of water. The sound was coming from behind the tile wall in the shower. I called Moses Plumbing and spoke to Gary. He at first wasn't sure if he would be able to check my problem since he was working on another job already. He gave me an estimate of when he would know for sure and let me know that he will have a better estimate within the hour. He called me back within the hour and told me that Luis would be able to come to my house to assess the issue. Luis arrived in about 30-40 minutes. First thing he does is introduce himself and before walking into my house to check the issue, removes his shoes. I explained the issue and he was able to hear the dripping sound that I heard. We checked all around to see if there was water damage on the 2nd and 1st floor. We then agreed to cut out a section of dry wall that was behind the shower faucets so as not to damage the shower tile. The section of dry wall that was cut out would be replaced with an access panel so that if there was any reason we needed to look at the valves again we can simply open the access panel to look at the valves instead of cutting out drywall. This job cost $125.00. We also needed repair on a tub faucet - its connector to the main pipe broke off. The connector was made of plastic PVC pipe. Luis replaced the small plastic pipe with a copper pipe and reattached the faucet. The connector copper pipe needed to be constructed and welded together before attaching to the main pipe. This job cost $140. In addition, Luis identified other potential issues in our plumbing and gave me pricing for each issue. Throughout the whole time, I didn't feel he was hard selling me on additional repairs but was simply pointing out items that could be made to run better or to avoid potential problems in the future. After everything was done, I rechecked the work and everything looked good. Luis also mentioned that if I encounter any issues due to the work they did, they will come back and repair free of charge.

+ 0 moreI called Gary for fixing the bath tub, since i was not having hot water, only cold water. This was a sort of emergency situation. Gary was ready to show up at a very short notice, and also offered to inspect the rest of the house plumbing, as ours was a new house we had just moved in. Gary found more issues, and agreed to fix them at a discount. He had difficulty fixing the earlier tub issue, but made sure that he fixed it, with utmost professionalism. Since he had to put in extra labor and materials, we agreed on a higher price than anticipated, but the work done was great. I would recommend him, and hire him again for other plumbing work.
