FENCE MENDERS

A friend of mine recommended Fence Menders for rod iron fence repair. As a result, I call the company and obtained an estimate. Upon comparing the two other estimates with that of Fence Menders it was clear that Fence Menders was a fair price. Upon the arrival of their crew, they went right to work and completed the task in no time at all. The job was finished I was contacted by the crew so that I can expect the work prior to them leaving. As I examined both gates that were repaired, they look brand-new. I must say the work exceeded my expectations. The work area was clean as though no work had been performed. All I can say is job well done top-notch and I’m certainly going to recommend them to my neighbors and friends.

Fence menders had the best estimate and good reviews, so I hired them to Fence my back yard. They did an acceptable job, though I think they could have done better at matching the bottom of the fence to the ground. They didn't attempt to do that. But I guess that is what you sacrifice for a good price. There were areas where the fence was 6" from the ground due to dips that they didn't compensate for. But what most upsets me, is that for two years in a row, the gate to the back yard has dropped to one side, making it very difficult to close the gate. I am on a somewhat busy street and I got the fence to keep my dog on the property. So when people come to my kitchen door at the side of the house, or deliveries occur, visitors don't always close the fence. Even I have been frustrated when leaving for a walkey and have left it open for a time. Last year, it took 3+ weeks and numerous messages to get a response. But finally, Dan showed up. But this year, no. I left several messages, stating that it is nearby impossible to close the gate, that it is worse than last year. That he told me the gate wouldn't do this two years ago when I asked what to do if it does, yet here I am. He didn't call to acknowledge my messages last year, and when he finally came he said that he would just come by when he's in the area, for future reference. I don't think I should have to call every year for this same problem. There is no reason for the gate to do this. No special terrain. I think I will have to pay another company to replace it? If he has been planning on coming in fixing it at some point, I have not heard anything from him, and I think that he could at least return my phone call and let me know what is up. Very disappointed.

The whole process (initial phone call, onsite estimate, written estimate, actual work) was done in a timely and professional manner. We were extremely happy with the work done! They charged an initial 50% deposit when you sign the contract and agree to the terms of the work. The remaining balance could be paid once the work was completed either by paying the work crew or waiting for an invoice to arrive in the mail. We chose the latter. We kept their business card. Should our fence eventually need to be totally replaced, we will definitely call the Fence Menders to do it. We will also tell the management company for our homeowner's association to refer tenants to them instead of the non-responsive company that they have on file. Fence Menders shows an Irvine PO Box as a mailing address, but they are actually located in Santa Ana CA.

They were really good. They were professional. They responded quickly.

We contacted Fence Menders by phone to inquire if they would be able to repair or replace our back perimeter fence. Our fence was in need of repair or replacement. Mr. Perkins came by the next morning, took measurements and gave us a written proposal. He told us the fencing could not be adequately repaired, it had to be replaced in its entirety. I explained at that point that my neighborhood requires that our home owners association architectural review board would have to approve the work prior the start of the project. He said it would be fine, and he had worked with our review board in the past. During the submission of the information to review board, my neighbor wanted to have the fence separating our properties replaced as well. I then called Fence Menders once again to inform them of the additional fencing that would be needed. Without hesitation Mr. Medina made an appointment to come out to our house to do the added estimate and amend the proposal. During this visit, I explained that once we had received the approval that I would contact his company and inform them. I also explained that my wife and I both work and probably not be at home during the work. He assured me that the work could be accomplished without the need of either of us be present. Once the approval was given, the work began. Fence Menders did and excellent job of replacing our fence. It was like they were never there. They workers removed all of my wife's ornaments, plants and decoration from the old fence so that they would be able to remove it. Then replaced everything just as it was. Well beyond what you normally expect on a work project. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone that is in need of their work. Additionally, I would readily call on them again in the future for any other work that I need. Great company, very professional and efficient.

It went smoothly as soon as they arrived. No fuss, no muss. They always checked with me for any questions or concerns as they went along.

Called for Fence Menders to do a bid on a fence on one side of yard, approximately 90 ft. Ty was very professional and sent me a proposal via email about 6 days later. I had to call to get the proposal sent to me which did cause some delay in my decision of who to go with. Ty sent a detailed bid though with several options on types of fencing so that would take more time. I have no doubt that they would have done a good job but I went with a friend who gave me a much better price. Fence menders was the highest bid of 3 bids. I would recommend them only because any contact was always professional.

I called and the receptionist said I would be called back by one of the team. Ty called me back, we talked about the problem and made an appointment for him to estimate the job. He arrived promptly and we discussed options. He listened to my concerns and considered my suggestions. He was prompt in sending me an estimate and returned my call to set up the date. The crew came on time and Ty was there, orchestrating what needed to be done. They added wooden posts to the front of my cinder block and hung the gate on the new posts. They added all the hardware which was heavy duty. It looked great and I was very pleased with the results. The crew was efficient, friendly, and professional. They left the work area clean.

They were prompt, on time and very professional. They gave a competitive estimate. He took his time and gave suggestions, also.
