I wanted a white glossy coating on my floor. When I called I spoke with Lora (That is how she spelled it). When I spoke to her she was a very good and respectful salesperson. She really oversold the company and the product. She explained that the process that they do. She told me that there is only a total of three licensed contractors in California that do what they do with a license. I'm not sure where you get a license to destroy somebody's concrete floor but they can do it. She explained that the current quality of concrete is important to check before they even quote the job so she set up an appointment for two days later to inspect. She oversold how superior that her product and install was she scared me away from all other companies. Of course with their high quality comes a high price(double the next highest bid). I explained that I needed the job completed in 7 days from the date of the initial phone call because I had cabinets being delivered and had nowhere to store them. That was on tuesday Sept 10th. She explained that once she came out it would be three days till completion. She showed me some pictures of jobs they completed with great results. She came out two days later and inspected my floor and said it was perfect and the results she be really good. She explained the process and I asked a lot of questions because I have heard very mixed results on epoxy flooring. (hence the reason I went with the expensive guy) I specifically asked if it would be a smooth surface and would it have a shiny wet look. Those were the two most important qualities that I was looking for. She explained that it would be very smooth due to the fact that it is a self leveling product that makes for a very flat smooth result. I was curious if it would orange peel since they were applying with paint rollers in very thick layers. She assured me that it would be smooth and no orange peel once again. I stressed that for the price it would need to have those results. Anyway day one took place for application on fri the 13th(Should have known the job was gonna be cursed) I got home late from work and was anxious to see day one progress. Immediately I was concerned so I called Lora and left a voicemail. She was nice enough to call me back later that night. We talked about how bad the orange peel was and she assured me that it was only the first of three coats and its needed more material to level out to be a smooth surface. During the project they did not even take the care to tape the walls bottom edges to avoid overcoat on the walls so they got epoxy all over the freshly painted walls. She said she would talk to her technician to have him be more careful. When she talked to the technician he tried to cover his but and say that the white was from them peeling of the masking tape that was on my walls that the painter left behind and when he peeled it off it pulled the new paint with it. It was very clear that it was epoxy on top of the paint. I explained that it wasnt my main concern as touching up wall paint was not that big of deal but I just wanted them to be more careful when working on my house. Then she kept refusing to believe me even though I told her it wasn't that big of deal. They came back on day two and sanded, then applied the second coat. When I got home on this day I was even more concerned as now there was millions of pit holes and what looked to be dust under the coating plus even more orange peel. They assured me it just needed sand once again before the final coat which was supposed to be a tinted clear coat. Against my better judgement I took her word and let them put more material down. The third day (sept.17th because the tech's truck broke down so he couldn't finish up on the 16th as promised on the contract ) they started by sanding. On this day they only sent one of the two techs out which she later explained was the less competent one. One spot where he sanded it looks like he left the sander on and went and had lunch so it had black circle burn marks in that area. Now the orange peel and dot holes had multiplied by 10 times. The technician acknowledged that it looked terrible to my wife and he told her that they would need to come back and sand and apply more. Lora called my wife later that day and told my wife that he was not in a position to make that decision. He seems to be the only person there that has any integrity. There was no sorry that we missed our deadline or that our service was terrible or that the product looks horrible. Then she goes on to tell my wife that we are being picky (even though she hadn't seen the floor at this point) and thats why they usually throw the confetti over the epoxy to cover up any blemishes in their workmanship. At this point I was upset and I took pictures and emailed them to her so she could see I wasn't exagerating. She then realized it was really bad. Im not sure if the guy was losing his hair or it was paint brush bristles, but there was hundreds of hairs epoxied to my $3,000 garage floor. I was finally able to squeeze an apology out of her and she explained said she would come out and inspect for herself. She came out and took more pictures to send to the manufacturer to figure out what went wrong and said don't worry we will take care of it. I told her at this point that they were already over their deadline and my cabinets would be there in two days so I need it fixed immidiately or I would have to get someone to rip it out and redo the job. She told me they would be out the next day. Once again that was a lie. Two more days later she said they needed more topcoat and explained that they would come out on Fri the 20th and sand the floor, then clean the floor and touch up my walls. The guy showed and fixed the wall paint and then proceeded to hand sand the floor without a machine for a total time of 15 minutes. He came and went three times in the period of an hour that day and was completely gone by 10:00AM. During the day he said to my other contractor that was working at my house that we are just complainers. Luckily the contractor came to our defense and explained that we just wanted it done right. He didn't bother putting the topcoat on because he said the installation was botched and they would have to machine sand, clean and add one more layer of epoxy before he could topcoat it. He said he would have the office call that day to talk about what we were going to do. Nobody called me that day so I assumed they walked off the job. My cabinets arrived on that day with nowhere to put them. We then got two days of light drizzle on my brand new steel cabinets which I had to leave in my driveway due to the unfinished. I called my tile contractor and asked if he could rush a tile install because I was out of time and my cabinets had arrived. He explained he would have to remove the epoxy to bond properly to the concrete. I said go ahead and order the tiles as I figured the other company wasn't coming back as they now missed their deadline by 10 days and there was no end in sight. Then two days later I recieve a call from my salesgirl Lora about the install. She tells me they have more epoxy and they want to come out. I explained to her that she missed our final deadline so I had to hire someone who could finish the job. She seemed disappointed but she understood. Fast forward two more days and now the owner of the company calls me. He immediately starts telling me that we have a contract and I need to pay him the full $3000. I did not ask for my $400 deposit back even though I had to spend $1,000 extra to remove the epoxy prior to tiling the floor. I run two large businesses and explained that we work with contracts quite often and when one side materially breeches a contract the other side has right to cancel. He then explodes on me and starts yelling at me and calling me a big shot. He said he is gonna put a lien on my house and sue me even though the work was never completed. he insisted that I was just trying to rip him off and I wanted something for free. I explained to him that if this was the case why would I rip it up and put tile down. I said that I'm more than happy to show him where the epoxy was so he could see that I was just trying to get it done right. He then called me a big shot again, said he will see me in court and then hung up on me. I have not seen business done like this since the 1970's. I'm glad there is great forums like this to share horrific experiences so nobody has to go through what me and my wife have gone through with this company and it's President Mike. If you are interested to see pictures of just how bad the install was just let me know and I can send you some so you can see that I was acting completely reasonably. I hope this review was helpful!
