Above it all would never give me more than an estimate on the back of a business card. I called repeatedly and was never called back after the initial estimate. They seemed like a great company, but even though I was willing to have the work done could not get them to get in touch.

Overall, the experience was great. I am very pleased.

Above It All Roofing did a fabulous job replacing my 30 year old wood shake roof with new composite shingles. Jay Gioia was very punctual and professional, and provided me with a competitive estimate, which was really accurate when the job was over. In addition to replacing the roof, he also went above and beyond and installed new CO monitors inside the home along with some new smoke alarms in order to comply with the City of Mission Viejo permit requirements.

When I called Jay was prompt in coming over to give me an estimate. I had gotten a couple of other estimates that were less expensive but decided on Above It All after speaking with Jay. He was VERY nice. answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. I was planning on having the house painted after the roofing job and he was very helpful in helping me select a shingle that would match the color palate I was considering and, as it turned out, it is a perfect match. During the estimate he suggested that we put in dormers to help keep the house cool. I mentioned that another roofer had recommended using radiant barrier plywood. He told me that he didn't suggest it because he doesn't like to push people into buying extra stuff that isn't necessary but thought it was a great idea. Adding the dormers and radiant barrier only added a minimal cost to the estimate so I got them. When choosing the shingles he purchased a high definition shingle in the same color that I wanted, intuitively knowing that I would like it and he was right. It gave our roof dimension that wouldn't have been there if he had used standard shingles and there was no additional charge for the nicer shingles. He also gave me an additional discount over the 5% Angie's list discount. The workers were efficient and friendly and cleaned up at the end of every day. Jay was a very present figure throughout the process, making sure everything was done to my satisfaction and his. I love my new roof and would recommend Above It All to anyone.

My brother and I contacted Above it All Roofing based on excellent reviews on Angies List. We contacted Jay at Above it All Roofing for an appointment several days later. Prior to contacting Above it all Roofing we had already received several roof estimates for our 86 year old mother's house. Jay was very prompt for our appointment and was very professional in explaining to us and our Mother the work that needed to be done. Absolutely no pressure or hard sale. Jay provided a cost estimate for the work which was substantially lower than the bids we had previously received and we felt very comfortable contracting the work to Above it All Roofing. On the pre-arranged start date Jay was there to supervise the old roof tear off which was completed in one day with complete cleanup of the surrounding house property prior to new roof installation. The roof install crew was ready to go on day 2. Jay supervised the work and the job site foreman and his team were extremely hard working and attentive to our questions. A significant amount of wood facia replacement was required due to the age of the house and dry rot that the team indentified and suggested be replaced with our approval (additional costs). My Mother is extremely happy and satisfied with the roof replacement which was completed in the scheduled time frame.

I contacted the company and Jay called me to set up an appointment. He looked at the roof and we sat down to talk about an estimate. The estimate he gave was slightly lower than a previous low estimate and the labor guarantee was better, 10 years. A start date was scheduled but they were able to start a few days earlier than planned. The work was completed in 2.5 days, the city inspections went well and the clean up was good. Jay always responded promptly to my questions and concerns. I paid no money until after the city inspection and I paid by check, no credit cards accepted. I am happy with the service and the responsiveness of it's representative.

Above It All Roofing is a very professional company. Mike recommended a roofing product good for the windy area where I live. Materials were delivered as crew started their work. Job was completed in one day and one hour the next day. The four man crew did a excellent job. The clean up was outstanding. New roof looks great.

The estimate was the best we received. They followed up with a terrific job on a large house. They were efficient, courteous, cleaned up beautifully and we would not hesitiate to recommend. They deserve their special rating.

From the get go, Jay, the project manager, is very professional, prompt, patient in explaining all the steps of replacing our roof from the old original wood shingles to the Presidential Shake TL. Jay was not pushy, he put me at ease knowing that since it is my first time to handle our re-roofing ( my husband who used to take care of all these, had a stroke three years ago ). Before I finally went with Above it all Roofing, I had four estimates from different companies. However, none of them really explained to me what was supposed to be done, what they will put up there, etc. With Above it all Roofing, Jay came to the house and the first thing I noticed was that he was very courteous, very patient and explained how everything is going to be done from demolition to putting up the new roof. Needless to say, the roof is the most imposrtant and the most expensive to put up, and we are very happy we went with Jay of the Above it all Roofing. I would recommend him to my family, friends, etc. The roof looks beautiful and all our neighbors say that they really did a good job. I would grade them A+ .

Mike, the owner, came out to the house himself to assess the job and gave us a quote on the spot. There was no pressure, just information presented in a calm and friendly manner, and we felt that he explained everything very well. We had a fair amount of concern about how the plants around the house would be protected and he assured us that his workers would take every precaution. On the day the job began, the crew showed up 45 minutes before they were legally allowed to start and, at precisely 7:00am, they started working and they worked as hard as any crew I've ever seen. The job was difficult and very dirty (because of the old roof tiles breaking into small pieces), but they kept it pretty well contained and at the end of day, the clean-up was complete. Plants came through the ordeal just fine, too! Total time for completion of this job was 1/2 day less than we expected, so we were thrilled and the end result is a good looking roof with one less antenna! A problem did develop on the job when a misstep by a worker put a hole through the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. Mike responded immediately and sent a super-competent drywall repair person who did a perfect repair job. We're very happy that we chose Above It All Roofing and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.

The whole project took just a few hours longer than three days from start to finish. Above-it-All employed a crew of up to ten men, all of whom worked diligently, cheerfully and respectfully throughout. They were efficient, cleaned up each day's debris very well, and gave us a very good-looking roof. They made good use of some very large equipment?probably the biggest trash hauling truck I've ever seen and a very cool crane-like conveyor system for ferrying shingle packages to the top of the roof. They paid a lot of attention to safety procedures, which had been a concern for us, given how steeply pitched our roof is. I was very impressed by the whole operation, how smoothly and quickly it all went, how conscientiously they adjusted their schedule to coordinate with the solar contractor. I felt that everything was explained well, both during the estimating process and during the actual work. The final bill was slightly more than the estimate because of the dry-rot replacement, but Mike had cautioned us up front that we might encounter some dry-rot, so this did not come as a surprise, and we had no problem with the slight overage. We had received some lower estimates a year ago when we first started saving for the project, but this company had the highest ratings on Angie's List, was easy to deal with in negotiations, laid the whole project out clearly and did not seem to hide anything. So we went with them, and the whole thing was a very satisfactory experience. I would not hesitate to use or recommend Above-It-All Roofing in the future.

David, the Above It All representative, came out on time and fully inspected my roof. He clearly explained all options we had and did not pressure us to go one way or another. The price he gave was quite reasonable for this area and we accepted the offer. I particularly liked the fact that this company has a lot of years in the business. As part of the service, the company replaced any dry rotted material after removing the old roof down to the plywood sheeting. We were clearly told before hand that any would replacement (i.e., wood sheeting, shiplap, etc.) would be an additional cost but at essentially the price of materials. This was quite fair since that kind of damage can only be assessed after the old roof is removed. The workers were always on time and started promptly. They worked at a good pace and took few breaks. David was present during most of the first day during roof removal and always came by thereafter to check on progress. He was a real hands on supervisor. The total job was essentially completed in two days. All permit pulling was handled by the company. City inspections all passed the first time without issue. No pre-payment was requested prior to starting work. You only pay when the work is completed to your satisfaction. The workers were courteous and answered any and all questions during roof installation. They also did a great job at keeping the work area clean. Final cleanup was also great. Overall, I was quite pleased with the work quality and experience. This is a professional group from the word go! I would highly recommend this company to anyone seeking to replace their roof. We went with a conventional shingled roof but the company works with all types of materials. Pricing can increase if the roof to be replaced has a steep pitch but this is clearly explained before hand as part of the bid. If someone is looking for a new roof, I would definitely call this company. Great job, guys!

From the initial contact of meeting, giving estimate it went well. Everyone showed up when they were supposed to and the job lasted 4 days. They did a nice job and did some cleaning. We are still finding some large roof nails around the outside of the house.

We were operating on a tight time frame and had a few mix ups (husband gave the wrong phone number) but when they came, they provided a very prompt report. Even though it was in their interest to "pump up" the problems (we had said we would hire them to do the repairs when we bought the house), they actually said that some of the things pointed out by the inspector were really not all that bad. They also confirmed that the source of a leak in the house was probably not the roof. Made themselves available after normal working hours to talk with us too.

Jay came out to do the estimate. He is very professional and clearly has been in this business for a long time. He helped me make the decision on type of roof. He did not try to sell me a more expensive roof. We set a start date and they we here on that date at the time Jay said they would be here. His guys work so hard. Each day they came on time and stayed until the job was done. They cleaned up our yard and also our neighbors. The skylights took a little longer than anticipated to come in but they came right back out and installed them. There is some drywalling and painting that needs to be done around the skylights on the interior and Above it all Roofing is going to take care of that. There are 3 things about my experience that I especially liked: 1. Jay was always around and could be reached quite easily 2. He said pay me when the job is done and even though they had to wait for the skylights to come in, he did not ask for a deposit, partial payment or anything until the job was completely finished. He is a man of his word. 3. He has a host of referrals for painting, gutters, etc. I would not hesitate to use this company again or refer them to friends

Removed all tiles, replaced paper and re-installed tiles. Work was done efficiently and all concerns were addressed. I would use them again.

I had several roofers to give me estimates for the roof re-do. Jay arrived on time, took his time to assess the situation, which was a bit different than a regular re-roofing, and sent me the estimate by email, as I requested. I chose Above-It-All Roofing because they gave me the most detailed estimate of anyone, and their price was quite reasonable and in line with the other contractors. When I contacted Jay, he gave me an approximate date for the job, which was about two weeks away. He continued to check with me during those two weeks, to keep me appraised of his time frame. On the day before the roofing was to begin, Jay came out, delivered some material and re-assessed the project. We realized that there had been some misunderstanding on my part as to the extent of the job, but Jay worked with me, did the job I expected, and did it with no extra cost to me. On the day of the roofing, his employees arrived at 7:30 am and were finished by 3:00 pm. These men were conscientious, working quickly and well. They cleaned up the debris as they worked, and made sure before they left that everything was picked up and the area around the house was clean. The wind caught a piece of plywood as it was being tossed off the roof and blew it into a window, and Above-It-All made sure the window was fixed in a timely manner. These guys did a great job.

Because the house needed an entire exterior facelift, I decided to use a general contractor for the job. But I was very impressed with Dave's professionalism and his knowledge, and the quote he gave me was very reasonable for the job. My experience with him was extremely positive.

Every thing promised was completed and all workers were professional. The projected started with framing the roof over an existing veranda. Once the framing was completed the roof was installed. Looks Great!!

The first employee wanted to give an estimate over the phone by me sending other contractors' measurements, etc. This made me leary at first. But then Jay, one of the owners, stepped in. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. A bit late, but this could have been a communication error, since the first employee had told me his "guy" was 5 minutes away. Jay was thorough, honest and professional. When asked about a shingle upgrade after the initial estimate was made, the increase was reasonable. If not for a personal referral to another contractor from my neighbor, I would have been comfortable using Above It All Roofing. Words of advice to everyone looking for a new roof. Make sure you're comfortable with whomever you select and you trust them. Price isn't everything - peace of mind is also important. Pay attention to wood replacement prices (especially with tear off) and add about 10% of your total roof area in linear feet of fascia to get a realistic final ESTIMATE so as not to cause a heart attack if and when the change order comes. For example, our roof is about 2600 sf. so take 10% of 2600 or 260 Lf of replacement wood, multiply by fascia price and add to written estimate. Some will have more (sorry) and some will have less (great), but hopefully there won't be too many bad surprises. Good luck to all!

They were on time to the minute and it was a great experience from start to finish. His explaination of what the problem was and how he was going to fix it was great. I would certainly hire him again.

Mike Allen was very professional from the date of the estimate and quote and throughout the installation. Everything was done according to the agreement, no short cuts taken and Mike and his project assistant Ruben ensured that everything was done correctly. Upon initial installation a few tiles cracked and they were replaced immediately. The roof was complicated in that there were a total of six large skylights and the previous skylight company had not installed the skylights correctly, there was a leak in one small area as a result, there was no blame, it was completely taken care of and the roof is now perfect. I would highly recommend Mike Allen with Above it All Roofing . He always returned my calls personally and helped with roofing selection and was on time, quaitly work and the price did not change from original quote to completion of the job.

They were fabulous in every way. Everybody that I came in contact with was great from the beginning when they came out for the estimate to the workers. The workers were here everyday when they said, got everything done when they said and everything was great. I recommend them highly. They were right here on time when they said. Their price was very fair, very much in line with what I had looked around. The guys were very nice, very polite and very professional. They were English speaking and great. I would use them again in the future if need be (Hopefully I will not need a roof for quite a number of years, but if I do I will use them).

We obtained multiple quotes and Dave was very responsive, professional, thorough, and provided the best price for removing and replacing our flat roof. His works arrived on time and Dave was here everyday providing support to us and his workers. Dave also pitched in with obtaining and bring the material. His workers worked very hard with little breaks especially the last day when they added the remaining 2" insulation board and hot mop. His workers were all very professional and cleaned up all the material that was all over our yard. Prior to having Dave replacing our roof and adding the insulation board, our house was very cold. Now we are very comfortable and can tell the difference with a warm and cozy home. We can't thank him enough. Thanks Dave. :) We would definitely use his services again should we need roofing. But for now, we are dry from the rain. :)
