We went with another Angie's list ( A rated ) roofing contractor with a lower price for the same roofing materials and labor. Jay introduced us to the world of roofing as he cheerfully explained what to expect if we have a new roof installed. He is professional and knowledgable. Later, he provided us with addresses to look at houses that have the shingles and colors that we preferred.

I scheduled five reroof estimates and specifically asked for Jay with Above It All Roofing (AIA) based on other reviews. First, AIA has a live person answering at all times. I appreciate a live person rather than a voice mail. Secondly, I left my contact info and Jay called back the same day. I wrote comments of those who did not return calls in the hopes that the standard of customer service in all service industries changes for the better. We scheduled the visit for the next day. Jay arrived on time and went to work. He explained the reroof process thoroughly and reviewed the proposal step by step. From my interaction, Jay has been with the company from the beginning and is genuinely invested in ensuring quality customer service and quality product delivery. Overall and compared with three other project managers, Jay was patient and not pushy. The experience for a first time reroof customer was stress free. However, customers should always do their research on the reroof process, ventilation, and current materials. Compared with my other estimates, AIA was in the same ball park excluding the 5% discount for angieslist members. Although we went with the fourth company, Jay was professional in his post communication. Thanks Jay!

Everything went great. Our original estimate came in at $12,000 but with the caveat that they wouldn't know how much wood would need to be replaced due to dry rot. We were dealing with an original roof from 1960 so we were not surprised that we needed more replaced. They started on Monday and finished Friday afternoon. Jay updated us pretty much every day on how the project was progressing. Each evening they cleaned up the area well. We had our final inspection on Sunday afternoon and pointed out a few items we wanted adjusted (nothing major). Since it was Sunday afternoon we said he could do the adjustments on Monday but he did them all on-the-spot and everything looks great. When Jay came by to pick up our check he adjusted our invoice a couple hundred dollars lower because they didn't end up replacing a few boards he thought we would need. We're very happy with our new roof and would use them again.

The sales rep, Jay, explained what products were available, how the work would be performed and gave me the most reaonable quote of the three roofing companies I requested an estimate from. The workers were always on time, very professional and answering all my questions. My house was over 3400 sq. ft. with a detached garage over 400 sq. ft. It was a big job and we were a bit anxious about it all. There was a little damage to some of our plants but they will grow back. This occured because they had no vehicle access to our back yard and garage. Jay also suggested a company to install new gutters which we used. With all the work completed we are so pleased.

Overall, we found Jay to e knowledgeable and very professional. The many positive reviews on Angie?s List were justified. We chose another company because of just a couple of minor points, but we felt that we would have been very satisfied with ABOVE IT ALL ROOFING and would be very comfortable recommending the to others.

Called up Above It All Roofing and set up appt the next day for David to provide me an estimate for a small unique repair to my roof. David was prompt, very professional and understood my issue. He wanted to get his specialist in this type of repair out to look at my specific situation - unfortunately, he said it would take a couple weeks before he could make it out. Also, he said the minimun charge would be at least $850 - due to liability insurance. David was the last of 3 roofers (all were highly rated on Angies List) to come out - one of the other roofers had a excellent cost effective solution to my unique situation at 1/2 the price, so I went with them.

The job went very well on schedule. Excellent company to work with and Jay couldn't have been more professional.

From the inital proposal through completion, the project was handled professionally. Jay Gioia, our project manager, responded to all queries via email and/or text messages within an exceptionally short time lapse. The work was accomplished quickly and to high quality standards. Workers arrived as scheduled daily and worked into the early evening to complete the project on schedule. Daily clean up was accomplished generally well. Some minor concerns at project conclusion were quickly and adequately addressed. The final price was higher than the original estimate due to the need to replace a larger than anticipated amount of facia, rafter tails, and shiplap (due to termite infestation and dry rot). The damage was not evident until after the old roof was removed, so it could not have been accomodated in the inital proposal. I can't speak highly enough of "Above It All" roofing, and would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of roof repair or replacement.

As an engineer, I am comforted to know that my roof is structurally sound, and it looks great! Above It All Roofing is focused on customer satisfaction, ensuring the job is done right and met all three permitting inspections. They did a superb job at improving the look of my house and improving its resale value. That being said, I was disappointed at the number of nails left in my yard - still finding them 6 months later. Also, they cracked the shiplap boards around the perimeter and were reluctant to come patch the cracks prior to the painter arriving. I also had to call them back to trim-off exposed nail tips. There are still many nail points sticking into my attic that I just noticed while performing some maintenance. On a more positive note, they did a very good job with the fascia craftsmanship.

Out of the 4 work bids I obtained for this job, Above It All had the lowest price. From start to finish, they were a pleasure to work with. This was a big job and Above It All was professional and efficient at all phases of this new roof project. They were also extremely fast! Dave was a pleasure to work with. He checked in with me each day of the project and updated me as to how the job was going. He was always available to take my calls and always answered my questions with detailed information. I would definitely use this roofer again. In fact, I already had them come out to look at a commercial building repair.

Very professional. No mess. Hardly knew they here the entire time. Took pictures before and after Completed work as originally stated. Great people to work with.

We are completely satisfied with our new roof. We had two prior estimates and then joined Angie's list where we found Above It All Roofing, Inc. Dave is extremely professional and gave a competitive estimate. He answered any questions we had and he was very responsive with phone calls, emails, and visits during the job. All of their workers are top notch and friendly. Things were cleaned up at the end of each day. Their attention to detail is beyond comparison. The whole process was seamless and the roof looks awesome!! We would highly recommend using this company for your new roof!!

I love working with Jay from day 1 till the end of the project. He gave me the best price among the 3-4 companies who gave their own estimates. Everything was systematic and within time frame. There was 1-2 days delay but not a biggie. Jay always answer all my calls , explains everything in detail. He gave me discounts. He is really great. If any friend of mine or a friend of a friend of mine would need any roofing I would recommend him. So far, everything is okay--roof is fine , no leaks. One thing that they missed though was taking all the nails out from the ground where my crawling plants are. My husband stepped on one and had to be brought to urgent care for his tetanus shot. Other than that I have no issues so far. Thanks Jay.

I picked this company because they had the most A ratings on Angie's List. I would rate them an A as well. The person that came out, Scott, did a fantastic job and gave me a good estimate. He did everything he said he was going to do for the price that was quoted. I felt the price was competitive and I haven’t had any issues.

The job was great from start to finish. Above It All Roofing did a fantastic job of re-roofing our house. I am completely satisfied with the job and with our new roof. Dave showed up at the house to give me an estimate for a new roof, promptly at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning, as promised! Actually, he was a little early, gotta love that!! He was friendly, patient and professtional and always on time, each and every time!! He answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns with a big/genuine smile. He also answered my emails immediately, as well. The guys that tore off the old roof and the guys that actually put the new roof on were just as prompt and just as professional and also addressed all of questions and concerns too. This company does not cut corners and is very detail-oriented. They addressed issues with our roof that other estimates from other companies did not even notice or ask about. Above It All Roofing was not the cheapest bid that I got, but I knew that I was getting quality material and received quality workmanship and service. I believe that their price was very competitive and it was money well-spent. I highly recommend using this company for your new roof!!

Very happy with this contractor. We had to do this by proxy with our son who lives in our investment home. We communicated with Scott by phone and had him check out a leak that had discolored the ceiling drywall. We asked him to coordinate with our son for the inspection. He made an appointment, arrived on time and gave me a detailed report and called me to discuss the problem. This was a 35 year old original roof that the builder had cut corners on - however, it did last 35 years. Scott explained why the roof had failed, how he would use different materials to make sure it didn't happen again and gave me a price quote. He was highly rated on Angie's List, so I didn't bother wth another bid (when I bought the house I got a re-roof bid from another roofer through my Real Estate agent, and Scott's was in the ball-park). I gave him the go-ahead and he arranged the start time with my son. He started the work on time, finished about half a day later than he thought he would, and did a very professional job. My son, who I am exposing to as much home-ownership problems as I can for when he buys his own place, was guided by Scott throughout the whole process. He even gave him a walk-through at the finish to explain what to look for in the future. Our son learned a lot. Scott communicated the whole way with me, explaining what he was doing and why, where he was improving the roof's integrity and updating me. I strongly recommend this roofer and would surely call him first the next time we need roofing services.

Jay, of Above it All, is a very nice, responsive, trustworthy, and considerate person--there's no doubt about this. His workers were good, too. I am overall very satisfied with working with Above it All, but I would suggest if you hire them to make sure your aesthetic expectations are in sync with the workers' sense of what you want/expect, and make sure Jay knows so the work is executed accordingly. For my project, the workers used too much cement to affix the Spanish tiles on the roof area facing the front yard. I attribute this to there being different workers doing different parts of the roof over time. By the time I noticed, it was pretty much too late. The rest of the roof had more consistently and thinly laid cement. When I informed Jay about it, I had a sense he would have been willing to have the part of the roof in question relaid to satisfy me, or to work out some other arrangement, but I didn't ask for that. I am happy we got away with paying short-money for a roof that is waterproof and is guaranteed longer than all of the higher bidders. If I had defined what I wanted in the scope of work, I am sure Jay and his workers would have done it exactly as I wanted. I totally recommend that you get multiple (+4) quotes--seeing the disparity of the quotes I received makes me think there is A LOT of wiggle room for contractors working on roofs. Above it All seemed to offer a reasonable price for a reasonable job. No smoke. No mirrors. No scare tactics.

He checked it out, told me that I had cracks in my flashing, and told me how much it would cost. He also told me that I could seal it myself if I wanted. I ended up doing it myself and saving several hundred dollars, but I appreciate his honesty and good advise. I would definitely call them again if I had roofing needs in the future since they seem like an honest and conscientious operation.

A mild storm was approaching so the company wanted to postpone the project. I did not want to postpone because 20% chance of rain even for a few days in a row is not much of a chance in OC. In any case, it was postponed till later in the week, so it took longer than the original time estimate, I assume because work started over a week end and also the rescheduling of workers and deliveries. The contractor was available by phone for any questions we had .The job went well, pretty clean and organized. We paid after we were satisfied. Even now I notice a few nails and long staples in the garden which is inevitable so be a little careful; however, they were very neat and cleaned up at the end of each day. Finally, no leaks even after several storms since last October! I would recommend their services to others looking for a friendly, knowledgable and professional staff.

Through the whole process Scott was very helpful with communication. On the day of the job, he showed up himself to make sure everything went well. A great experience for me and I highly recommend Above-It-All.
