Totally worthless, as we had several problems after the inspection. One is that the flashing around a bathroom fan leaked, causing damage inside the house, then a skylight leaked and needed to be replaced (after having caused further damage and then the runoff of rain off of the roof, in tandem with poor drainage in a flowerbed, caused yet further damage to my home. The latter could have been prevented if a downspout or gutter had been recommended. So I totally wasted my $50.

I'm very sorry the customer was unhappy with our service. Upon visual inspection the roof appeared to be in good condition. Unfortunately, we could not see the metal flashing under the roof at the bathroom fan vent. As to the skylight leak, we referred the customer to a skylight specialist, as we were backed up at the time on doing any skylight repairs. We did not do an inspection of the rain gutter system, therefore no recommendations were made regarding the gutters. A full $50 refund has been issued to the customer. Again, my sincere apologies to the customer. Mike

Crew arrived on time every day. They removed tile for reset, installed new felt underlayment, installed new drip edge metal and galvanized pipe flashing and caps. The crew painted all pipes and vents to match the roof color, then reset the tiles. They cleaned up and hauled away debris. They were thorough and hardworking and very professional. This company is the one you need to call for any roofing needs.

Customer purchased a $50 storm damage inspection and evaluation from Angie's List. We were contacted on 2-1-16 to set an appointment for a storm damage inspection, the appointment was set for 2-3-16 @ 9:30. We arrived on the scheduled date, and we were on time. We do not go on roofing appointments without ladders, we had a ladder in the truck. Upon arrival the customer pointed out some composition shingles on the lawn, that had come down from the recent storm, and made mention of the fact that a chimney repairman that she had recently had out, was on her roof, and told her she needed a new roof. Before we could discuss the issues fully, she asked if we thought she needed a new roof? Given the shingles on the lawn and the information passed along from the chimney repairman, and including what was visible of the roof, we answered, you might. She said she thought she might also. She stated that a new roof was out of the question, and not to even waste our time. A full refund has been sent to the customer. We regret, and apologize for any misunderstanding. Mike

Start to finish professionalism, beginning with a solidly competitive estimate, schedule, and quote. A great team of hard workers showed up, as promised, from day one and worked diligently to the finish with attention to utmost workmanship. Both main contact and crew happily provided feedback for each day's progress and issues. Working environment was kept safe with due concern given to surrounding area and kept tidy at the end of each day's work. It was a blessing to be able to entrust my home's integrity to the integrity of Above it All Roofing.
Description of Work: Took up all roofing tiles, replacing any dry rotted wood along the way, and laid a double layer of roofing paper, resetting and placing full tiles and rake across the entire roof.

We thought there was a leak from the roof. But it turned out that one of the pipes had busted. So they came out and said, "No, it's not us."They were great. They told us that the work wasn't imminent and that we had a little time before we needed to replace our roof. We found them to be very nice and responsive and professional. We would probably use them. I liked them a lot.

If you are looking to have your roof replaced or repaired, you can not do better than to call Above It All Roofing. We contacted them in November, for an estimate along with estimates from 2 other roofing companies. Long story short, we decided to go with an independent roofer that was recommended to us by a friend, which turned out to be a terrible mistake. After over three weeks we still did not have a roof. I called David Brunn with Above It All Roofing, , who did the original estimate for us and explained the situation and asked him if there was any way that he could come out and look at what we had and give us an estimate on what it would cost to fix it. He came out within a couple of hours, looked at the state of the roof and said he would get with his boss, Michael Allen (the owner) and see if they could help us. He said he would get back to us that day. He called us back, said that they could help us and would get started as soon as possible and would work us in when they could, because they had several other jobs working at the same time. They started the next day by coming out and hauling away all of the trash that the previous roofer had left in front of our house and never removed. David Brunn, pulled the new permit with the city that Friday. They came out the next day with a full crew, removed all the damaged underlayment and nails and began replacing the damaged, broken and rotted shiplap, rafter tails and replaced all the facia boards. By the end of the day they had completed all of the woodwork and had our roof completely protected from the rain. The following Saturday they came out again with a full crew and completed our entire roof, including all new flashings and vent pipes, which they painted to match the new roof shingles, along with 4 new dormer vents. When they initially came out, Michael Allen promised that they would have us completed by the end of the following week and they did. They worked quickly, professionally and completed the roof and all repairs to the wood as we had requested. This company and all of the staff that we dealt with were extremely professional and showed genuine concern for what we had dealt with from the other roofer including the damage done by the other roofer. David Brunn was here consistently, during the entire roofing procedure. My wife and I cannot thank, David Brunn, Michael Allen, and Alejandro and the entire Above It All Crew, enough for the job they did. If you want a roof on your home that you can be proud of and not look back and wonder if you paid too much, call Above It All Roofing, you will not regret having a job, well done.

I'm very sorry that you were unhappy with our service. The leak that you had could not be repaired with a pipe collar. The roof needed to be replaced in the section around the pipe. We did not want you to waste your money on something that would not fix the leak. Mike

The job went great!! Scott responded to my appointment request via Angie's list right away. We were able to set up a time for the estimate and I felt confident in Scott's review and suggestions for roof replacement. The time for work was set and the team arrived on time, with Scott there to ensure everything went smoothly. The tear-off was a loud, noisy process, but the team worked quickly and efficiently to complete that portion of the job in one day! The re-roof was completed in two days. I am so pleased with my beautiful new roof. Mike, the owner, came with Scott to our final meeting to ensure I was happy and had no complaints. I had found some small orange disks in the yard and made a comment to Scott - he immediately went on a walk around the yard and picked up all evidence that roofers had even been there. I highly recommend Above It All Roofing! Scott and Mike are A+ in my book!!

Scott was amazing!!!! I called him out to repair some tiles that had fallen off and inspect the roof for leaks that I thought I heard. Scott is very professional, efficient and honest. He arrived early, was easy to talk to and was very informative about the condition of the roof. He spent about an hour at the house and didn't even charge me. I was incredibly grateful for his time and service. I wish people like him were the norm. Hands down I will recommend this company and will use them for all future roofing needs.

Although it turns out I didn't have a roof leak, Dave couldn't have been more helpful. I had Servpro come out to my house simultaneously to check for moisture (required by my insurance company in case a claim needed to be filed). Dave was kind enough to stick around and made sure I understood what was going on and what was necessary. Had there been a leak he was honest and said that his company was unable to fix the repair for a couple of months due to El Nino, but kindly recommended two competitors that could possibly get me in sooner. Efficient, knowledgable, honest guy...what more can you ask for!

The roof was installed prior to us buying the property in May 2015. Even though the roof was only a few months old at the time of our purchase the provider refused to honor the warranty unless we paid 10% of the purchase price of the roof to transfer the warranty. The former owner denies knowing about that restriction but in reviewing the contract, that condition is listed under the "fine print". I had several email/text correspondences with the company but they ceased responding and were firm that we had to pay the 10% of the purchase price to receive any services related to the warranty. While treating our attic for a rodent problem during the summer, we had 3 companies give us estimates. Each person independently commented on how much rubbish had been left behind in the attic from the roof installation. We paid the company that we hired to haul out the old insulation plus the debris left by the roofers. This week, we had new gutters installed and the crew noticed that some of the roof tiles are missing. We will need to call a roofer to fix the problem, which should not have occurred within a year of a new roof installation. The only contact that I have had with the company is by email and text. I did not post a review earlier because I recently joined Angie's List. Approximately cost of service $18000.00
Description of Work: The provider installed a new roof in December 2014/January 2015.

Response from Above It All Roofing, Inc
As is a common standard in the construction industry, our warranties are non transferable from our customer that we did the actual roof work for, to the next owner and the next and so on. When houses are sold inspections are done to check the integrity of the home. Sometimes roof tiles are damaged due to inspectors walking on the roof or the previous or current owners may have done roof modifications. If a previous customer of ours gets ready to sell their property, and it is under our warranty and if the home inspector finds any problems with the roof installation we would always correct it. Our customers have a warranty they can count on.

The estimate for flat roof fix was $13,850 with the Angie's 5% discount for applying 50yr material warranty GACO product to approximately 1000sf of roof. We went with another licensed roofer who did it for 40% less with a 25yr material warranty similar product. GACO is listed as approx $300/5gal online. Material is expensive but I don't think that there is a 40% difference. Plus they were booked out months in advance and we were looking for help before El Ni?o storms.
Description of Work: We bought the roof inspection service which was reasonable but we're not provided a written report of areas recommended to be fixed or for future maintenance. We also asked them for an estimate to address better waterproofing the flat portion of our roof.

I'm very sorry that we could not repair the roof within the price range you had in mind. There are many ways one can go about doing a repair on a roof, We cannot and will not cut corners to make a price fit into a particular budget just to get the job. We can only do quality work, which we warranty. by doing the work correctly. Sincerely, Mike

Above It All Roofing is an exceptional company run by an ex-military man and it shows in the attention to detail and the "tight ship" that he runs. From the sales person David Brunn, who made the first contact and was punctual, pleasant and extremely knowledgeable, to the foreman, Alex and his crew, who were consummate professionals, the job could not have run smoother had I managed it myself. The company is a little pricy compared to their competition, but you "get what you pay for" as the old saying goes. The tear-off crew showed up punctually on Monday morning and began the tear-off. They worked quickly and efficiently and were done by noon. They cleaned up the area including using a broom-like magnet to pick up all the nails, screws and other small metal debris. Alex and his crew showed up around the same time along with the company delivering the roofing materials. Tar paper was laid down in strategic places and all materials were loaded on the roof. Alex and his crew had the roof completely tar-papered before they left on Monday. They cleaned up each day before they left as well, also using a broom-like magnet. I went out to check. David Brunn had dropped off plastic sheeting as a precaution against rain. He says that the "boss" requires it as standard practice. Again, attention to detail. It rained lightly on Monday evening, but the roof was fully protected. The crew worked a long, hard day on Tuesday and told me they would be finished before noon on Wednesday. They were done before their estimated time. Alex was wonderful and answered any and all questions I asked, no matter how silly. I learned a lot about steep pitched roofs and the right way to install a valley. The crew cleaned the roof, the work area and the ground around both my and my neighbors houses to ensure that no debris was left. I am extremely satisfied with my new roof and the quality of the work performed and would definitely use this company again. Two and a half days and a brand new roof. Let "El Nino" do its worst !

Jay was in charge of our new roof and did an excellent job. He was always available and was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Work started on schedule and finished on schedule as well. We were at work while the job progressed and our neighbors informed us that the crew was great. When the job was finished, Jay came by and together we looked at the workmanship. I had some minor concerns and the next day they were taken care of. When all was said and done, the job even came in under budget! I highly recommend Above It All Roofing!

Jay declined the job. His concern was the type of roof that was installed was a type his workers were not acquainted with. Rather than try to attempt the job and cause damage to the property. He felt the best course of action was to refer me to other providers that may be able to do the job. I asked him if he would like to do the gutters if I used another roofer. He declined due to gutter portion because it was not a major component of his company, ( He is mainly a roofing contractor.) . He then referred me to a gutter service that he felt was very good. If had to break up the work between contractors. I really appreciated his honesty and knowledge. A professional knows what he can and cannot do. If I had to place a whole new roof on my house I would call him first to bid and the work. Jay is a real professional.

Very pleased with my roofing job. I was worried about the process and how it might go, as this was my 1st new roof. I got 6 quotes from reputable roofers through Angie's List. Jay came out to estimate the job. The price was the lowest of all the quotes. There were a couple family owned businesses that also Quoted the job. I like to support family owned businesses so I asked if they could match the quote. They said it sounds like a great deal if they do what they say they will do and that they could not match the price, with the same materials. The job started on time, finished on time, and on budget. There were extra charges for damaged boards that all of the companies said should be expected. There were no overcharges and I will use them again when I need another roof on a different place. The crew was clean and tidy, treated the property respectfully, and were informative when I had questions. I have experience working with construction projects, and this one went great. Roofs are more than I thought they would be going into this. However, I got 6 quotes and some were as much as 20% higher. Call Jay, he will take care of you and make you happy. Now it better not leak!!! It looks great. Thanks

I tried to get several estimates for this reroof project last May. Two companies took a look at my house and said they didn't do roofs that steep. Scott Byrn, the Rep for Above It All Roofing, showed up and said the same thing. What set him apart was his next question: " Since I'm already here, do you have any questions about roofing I can help you with?" He knew there was nothing in it for him, but he gave me a half hour (on a Friday afternoon, no less) to help me understand a bit more about the roofing process. Before he left he took some measurements and said he'd show the project to the company owner just in case. I went on to get two more estimates--both companies very professional, but not on par with Above It All Roofing. So I was happy when Above It All said they could do the job and gave me a very competitive estimate. Everyone with the company was courteous and hardworking. I knew I had made the right decision when the foreman of the reroof crew (Ilio? or Elio?), in response to my statement that it must be miserable having to do so much extra work because of the steep roof, said, "No. I don't mind. I like that the steep roof really shows off our work." It was over one hundred degrees all week, the workers had to be roped in like mountain climbers, but it didn't matter because of his pride in his craftsmanship. The finished project exceeds our expectations. People we've never met have stopped to ask for information on the roofing product (a synthetic shake made by Boral Roofing called Cedarlite 600) and on the company that installed it. From start to finish, Above It All Roofing was an exemplary company.

On Saturday, 9/19 morning, I submitted an inquiry to Above It All Roofing, asking about the possibility of doing a roof inspection report for my home. There isn't anything wrong that I am aware of. Personally, I was looking for some professional opinion and guidance to see if an inspection and/or maintenance was recommended. Please excuse me if I got the caller's name wrong. :) David called me in the afternoon to discuss my request. He was extremely courteous and honest. It helped tremendously that he lives in Irvine and knows exactly the Irvine community where my home is located. He patiently answered my questions about the tile roof inspection report and the roof tune up service costing. However, it was his professional and honest opinion that such service wasn't needed yet in my community (built 2001-2002). He pointed out that the community across the street from my homes were the ones needing checkups. In summary, I will hold off the roof inspection request for a few more years. But when the time comes for any roofing services, Above It All Roofing, will definitely be my first to call for what they did today. This is a veteran owned company that is honest and ethical.

Could have not gone better. I flew down to Santa Ana to check out the condition of a couple of rentals. One house needed a new roof. Since I was only in town for a couple of days, Dave made a special trip to give me an estimate. Once i accepted the estimate, we chose a date for the roof replacement. Dave took care of getting the permit and his workers arrived as scheduled. The tenants had no complaints about the process and the roof is beautiful.
Description of Work: Removed both layers of roofing, repaired all termite damage to roof, and installed new roof.
