He has been totally irresponsible, He never shows up when he says he will be here. The kitchen was supposed be done last Oct and it is still not finished. I have been very patient and understanding.

It started out OK but quickly slowed down after about the first 3 weeks. The demo was finished and most of the debris had been removed but work seemed to stop. If we had someone working at the project for 2 days in a week we were lucky. Alex builds all his own cabinetry ad vanities and that was finally installed at the end of Sept. The cabinets are beautiful and we'll made. During October things became even more delayed. None if the electrical work or the plumbing was being worked on. We had contracted for all new tile flooring throughout the condo, but had not seen any tile yet. The two showers were eventually tiled and done by early November, but the site was a disaster with trash and debris everywhere and no sign of it ever being cleaned up. I was in constant contact with Alex and he was always telling me that there would be people working to complete the job and still no one showed up. In mid November half of the floor tile was picked up and a sub contractor was working to prep the floors. I went to the site to clean the place up for the tile contractor as it was still a disaster. On Friday half f the tile was down and I was at the site when the tile contractor told me he was out of tile and could not finish the job. I called Alex and he promised to deliver the rest of the tile that afternoon. It turned out that the tile had not been paid for and the tile contractor had not been paid either. We had paid for this work and material 6 weeks ago. I paid for the tile and the contractor again and finally got that finished. I also confronted Alex and he admitted he had run into some financial difficulty and lost all of his help except for one person. At that point I took the job out of his hands and called in a plumber, an electrician, cleaning people, and another contractor. Alex had originally promised a move in date of October 1. This was changed 4 times and I re-scheduled my mover 4 times. We are out about 10,000.00 out of pocket beyond what we had as our construction loan. The loan had a built in contingency of 7000.00. My main complaint is a lack of honesty about what was happening or not happening. Several times I asked Alex about subs to help out and he constantly told me he did not need them. Some of the small amount of plumbing and electrical work that he did do had to be corrected. The electrical was a huge problem and cost to correct. I was very disappointed by the entire experience.

I obtained bids from competent companies but chose Alex Maese due to his flexibility in working with me, close proximity to the job site and reasonable costs. Alex’ attentiveness in responding to my phone calls was outstanding. He cared about the project details and explained everything so that I understood the procedures. Alex’ decorating advice and good taste helped to keep the project in a trendy updated mode. Jason sent pictures of the repairs in progress keeping me up to date on a regular basis. On the spur of the moment I decided to have my master bedroomsoundproofed. This added an extra week to the schedule, and the materials required special handling due to the heavy boards and special glue. An excellent job was done under Nathan’s supervision. They replaced my kitchen pantry shelving with melamine shelving. Patrick, the painter, retextured the walls, then applied 9 different paint colors I specified to all the walls including 3 accent colors so the house really popped with a coordinated subtlety. I was very pleased with the custom tile back splash installations in both bathrooms and master vanity; the repairs to the kitchen tile back splash were artfully done so you couldn’t tell it was even repaired. The cabinets were custom stained in the kitchen and painted in the bathrooms and hallway with faux detailing, a vast improvement in quality over the original cabinets. Raoul, the cabinet builder, created a beautiful dark stain for the kitchen cabinets. I am thrilled I went with their recommendation instead of the lighter stain I had chosen as it gives the kitchen a fresh, rich look. Isaac did a great job installing prefabricated granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms. My neighbor found the prefabricated granite trying to save me money, but if I had to do it over, I would choose a slightly higher grade granite to match what I had; It helped to keep the island with the original granite intact, and it all blends nicely. Working with Alex and his capable crew turned what seemed like an overwhelming job in the beginning into a rewarding, satisfying endeavor. The time to complete the project took longer than initially discussed, but part of that was due to my own revisions. I highly recommend them.

Vendor worked with us to keep the cost reasonable and did an excellent job.

Came to my home but never got back to me with a bid

My experience with him was average because of the length of time he took to complete the job. It was supposed to be 12 days and it took 8 weeks. His professionalism and the service clean up were good but we had communication issues. The cabinets and countertops look gorgeous. The quality was impeccable. If I were not on a timeframe, I would absolutely hire him again but if I was, I would not.

I was very satisfied with the services perform. The work and product was of high quality and finishing touches were done to our satisfaction. We did have a flexible timeline and were not in a rush to get the job done so that help us not get frustrated by some delays (which always happen). I would use this contractor again to do this work without hesitation - He is very trustworthy and gets the work done properly. We were doing our vacation home and he was able to do the work without us being there and send us updates frequently, when we got there, we outlined the few outstanding things we wanted/needed done and it was done within the week. Highly recommend.

He stood me up 3 times. You don't set an appointment if you are not going to show up. Each day he promised to call, but never would. Just tell me if you are not interested, but don't keep breaking promises. He finally told me to meet him at his shop and assured me that he would be there and that he would wait for me. I called him 6 times to tell him that I was on my way, he never answered the phone. I never went because I did not trust him to be there. I wasted three days, getting the run around from him. He has not contacted me since to apologize or anything. Not professional.

Alex took our tiny, tired and, yes, tacky 1957 bathrooms and transformed them into beautiful and functional rooms. The workmanship is first rate and the results far better than we had imagined. We have a '57 mid century desert home.The kitchen cabinet doors are solid cherry wood which replaced veneers. They are beautiful and are fitted much better than the originals. The bathrooms are spectacular. Alex saw potential and design that other contractors just didn't. He took our 6x7 tiny master and went into an adjoining storage room and gave me a beautiful larger bath. One of my biggest concerns was storage since we didn't have any. He made beautiful custom cabinets and included a 7' linen cabinet that I could not have imagined. In the process, took what was left of the closet and made a pantry with 4 large pull out drawers and a door that matched our kitchen cabinets. Beautiful and functional.The bathrooms are both beautiful. We pulled the old tub out of one and he made a beautiful shower with tall, clear glass doors. The other retained the tub but it was tiled inside and outside the tub. It now looks more like a spa. Alex is very easy to work with and extremely responsive. He readily incorporated my ideas but I quickly learned to trust his ideas and suggestions. The custom cabinets are beautiful and the tiling is first rate. His staff is easy to work with and reliable. We went out of town for a few days and were very comfortable leaving the house to them. Alex is very responsive and I recommend him very highly. After talking to other contractors, some of whom came over once and never called back, i feel we were very lucky to have found Alex.
