I found Phill's business on Angie's List on a Sunday morning. Phill was available, responsive, and willing to come out to my home only a few hours later. Our water heater thermostat had gone out the night before, leaving us with no hot water. Phil reaired that quickly and made time to fix a gas leak in a pipe feeding a fireplace gas log burner. Phill explained his work carefully and demonstrated a clear understanding of everything form the advantages and disadvantages of tankless water heaters, building codes for gas lines, and plumbing issues related to the installation of toilets. His work was meticulous. Phill minimized his impact on his worksite and was highly considerate in cleaning up after he was finished. I would not only recommend him for any plumbing job, I plan to have him out to install new plumbing fixtures in our home very soon.
Description of Work: Repaired our hot water heater and installed a gas line into a gas log burner.

Phill was able to reseat the faucet cartridge to allow water to exit the faucet. He was professional and gave me advice on what parts I needed to get from Moen in case the faucet acted up again. The only hiccup in our dealings was that he lost the notes he had taken when I first called. So I had to call him a second time to get him scheduled to come to our place.

Phill and Miguel came out and analyzed what we thought was one leak in our slab. After fixing the one leak, there was still a smaller leak in a nearby pipe. This was fixed as well as identifying a third leak in my sprinkler system. Phill is a pro's pro. He knows his craft and worked tirelessly to remedy our situation, We will definitely use him again if needed.

Phil came out and examined the water damage. It was determined that the damage was not do to a leaking pipe, but rather my tenants allowing water to puddle on the floor after they shower. Phil provided a few ways on how to handle it, but ultimately did not need his services for this particular job. I would contact him for any future jobs though.
Description of Work: Phil came out free of charge and provided me with several options on how to handle my leak. Although it turned out that I didn't need a plumber for my issue, I would certainly call Phil back to handle any future repairs.

This is the second time I've had Phill's plumbing out (different problems) and it was a great experience. Called them yesterday (Tuesday) about some bad water hammer when the landscaping timers would go off. Phill said he'd have someone out today. They called this morning, and came out as scheduled. Miguel was clean, dressed appropriately, very easy to communicate with. We looked over the situation and he diagnosed that the landscaping plumbing was connected upstream of the pressure regulator, so the water pressure to the lanscaping was way too high. This also explained why I kept having to replace pop-up sprinklers. While we were walking around, he noticed gas smell and found where it was coming from. He gave a fair price - $450 parts and labor for a pressure regulator/check valve, and $100 to fix the gas leak (it involved unscrewing a bunch of pipes, putting on sealant, and then reattaching). I said to go ahead, and he went off to get parts. He came back, installed everything, fixed the gas leak, relit the water heater. Then the moment of truth: turning the landscaping on and back off. Totally silent - I couldn't have been happier. While we were wrapping up, he told me how to measure and adjust the water pressure on the landscaping, if I needed to adjust it in the future. All-in-all, excellent, fast service at a great price. I'm going to continue to use Phill's for my plumbing needs.

The Gas Company detected a natural gas leak inside the home and immediately shut off the service. The first few plumbing companies that claim they do Natural gas lines were both overly priced and did not seem to have a good game plan to route the new lines. Phill arrived on time and was very knowledgeable the moment we went over the task. Phill represents the highest level of honesty and knowledge that one could ask when hiring a professional services. The job was challenging (older home), but the work was orchestrated perfectly, clean, and on time. I highly recommend Phill's Plumbing... He is now our permanent plumber for any future needs that may occur.

Knowing I had a party planned for July 4th, Phill and his team worked all day on Saturday to put in a new gas line to my BBQ. This was necessary because the old galvanized piping was leaking gas and it was clear that it was leaking far into the ground and not fixable. (Besides, galvanized steel is no longer 'code'). This entailed digging down 18" and about 6" wide for about 40 feet from the house to the grill. Phill and his team were careful to lay down tarp to collect all the dirt, and layer out the sod in sequence so that it could be replaced in order it was removed. They dug under and through 2 planter beds that were contained by small retaining walls, making sure not to disturb the irrigation pipes in the lawn and in the planter, as well as, not disturbing the planter lights, the electrical wiring to the BBQ area and the coax cable to an outside TV. It did require a new pipe above ground along our outer stucco wall, but Phill kept it clean and neat and as professional as possible. The piping underground is now 'up to code' and handled by Polyethylene tubing that will not leak or corrode like the metal pipes. Connections from the Polyethyene piping to the galvanize piping were all wrapped to ensure proper insulation against the elements. Included with the Polyethyene tubing is a tracking wire that will allow us/future owners to know where the tubing is so as not to damage it while digging near it. They started at 8am and worked until 6pm, making sure everything was put back where it originally was. Aside from some cuts in the grass, it is hard to tell the work that has been done! It was a large expense, but I am glad that we are able to use our grill without fear of leaking gas. Phill is very knowledgeable and experienced in this type of work and knew exactly what needed to be done.
Description of Work: Did a pressure test on my gas line going from the house to the outdoor grill. Once it was determined that the line was leaking, installed a new gas line.

Phill came on time and immediately assessed the water leak coming from the rusted galvanized water pipe connected to the sprinkler manifold valve. He crawled under my house and inspected the water supply piping to find out if there was other source of the water leak. Having found that there was no water piping leak under my house, he decided to bypass the rusted upstream water supply to the sprinkler manifold valves and restore water to my house. Phill honestly told me that it would be a lot cheaper if I could hire a landscape professional who can relocate and remake my sprinkler manifold box than if he would do it himself. Such gesture is indeed rare for a professional guy like him. I told him that appreciate very much his suggestion and told him that I would do so. He also gave me some tips and information about what type and sizes of PVC pipes that I should use for installing new pipes for my front yard water sprinkle system. Overall, I was very satisfied and happy with Phill's service and professionalism. I would definitely use his service again in the future and would recommend him to my friends and relatives for any plumbing services. I hope every professionals would be like Phill.

Phill and his assistant were very professional and fun to talk to. Before I called Phil from Angie's list, I called my home warranty policy for them to fix or repair my current toilet. The plumbing company was Pro-connect. The plumber from Pro-connect claimed the toilet was cracked from unatural causes, so the warranty company BPG denied replacing my toilet. I told them I wanted to contest their decision. Anyways, I just looked on Angie's iist and found Phill's Plumbing. I called him and he quickly returned my call. I explained the issue and he said he could replace toilet the next day. The next day, he looked at my tiolet and said the issue was not a crack but the seal was broken. He patiently took the toilet apart and showed me the problem. We discussed the costs of replacing parts vs. replacing the toilet, and I decided to replace toilet. Within 1.2hr the tiolet was replaced and the new one installed. I asked Phil to look at the other tiolets in house. He complied. Overall I give Phill ***** stars!!!!

It was a pain to have the tech come out and find out that Grohe had a defective part. (No fault to Phill's Plumbing either. We got the faucet). Phill and his tech were very accommodating to all questions and phone calls we made to them. Phill always answered his phone and the tech always called back. The work was done quickly and the tech Eric wore shoe covers every time he came into the house which to me was excellent. Also, when we first called Phill sent a tech the same day. When the part arrived, we called and told them and they came out within 2 hours. We will be using Phill's Plumbing again. Great work guys!
Description of Work: Called to have a kitchen faucet changed because it caused a flood under the sink and have angle stops changed. I provided them with the faucet by Grohe and the hose to the pullout faucet was defective. Tech Eric had to come back out a second time too change that and also accommodated us by going clear back to pick up a new Insinkerator with a filter that started leaking as well.

I called Phill late on Sunday night after we discovered the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom was caving in and water was dripping down. He explained how to shut off the water upstairs and suggested I break through the ceiling to allow the water to escape to avoid even more damage. Despite a full schedule today he sent Eric at 7:30 am to fix the problem. Eric was professional, pleasant, and prompt. He discovered a fracture in the pipe in the ceiling. It was a tricky job with several joints meeting in a small space. He was able to saw off the bad part of the pipe and rejoin using new parts, which saved us from having a much bigger repair job through a wall. He was here more than 3 hours, so I think the price was reasonable. I have used Phill's before and will gladly call again.

They were clean, courteous, skilled, focused, and they perservered.
Description of Work: Detected location of hot water slab leak with audio equipment. Attempted to locate manifold in interior walls for re-route of hot water lines (unsuccessful). Removed concrete, cut and repaired copper pipe, and resurfaced concrete slab. Returned about two weeks later to deal with report of new moisture in carpet in the area of the repair. Determined that no leaks persisted. Concluded that residual moisture in clay soil below slab was being released as water vapor near heated pipes. The vapor vented through a crack in the slab and condensed under objects sitting on carpet. Solution: allow moisture to continue to vent for six months (keep carpet area clear), seal slab crack.

Per our conversation on Friday, February 14, 2014, I gave you the example about the Moen replacement part and calling a plumber in to replace it. I had all the parts and the plumber told me that he had to charge me for one washer, but this was a policy that his company forced them to do. Again, I would have like to get honest information I was hoping to build a relationship with your company because of Angie's List and all the great things people have had to say about the quality of service. I did not get that with you or your company. It would have been nice to get a simple service charge and educated on putting on caps, than having my walls cut up and valves that I did not need. In the future I will go to YouTube before getting ripped off.
Description of Work: Hoses started leaking after washer was removed in the laundry room so I called the after I had used them in the past. Mike (Michael) cut my walls and copper pipes and replaced them with new valves. My house 15 years old. There was nothing wrong with the valves or the pipes. After he finished, I asked, "how do I know it won't leak when you leave." He replied, "see those caps, place them over the valves in the future it will stop the leak.

Response from Phill's Plumbing
As per what is written on the invoice, the client had the washer & dryer removed. The washing machine water supply valves would not shut off completely, and she had the hoses dripping into a bucket. The only repair for her style valves is to replace them. The is what my technician performed for her. This is what she wanted, this is what we did.
