I had OC Decks repair my existing deck which had numerous structural and esthetic issues. They were so professional throughout the process. Even when change orders came up, they explained everything thoroughly and left decisions to me throughout the project. The workers were neat, timely, experts, and hardworking. I felt like they made safety a priority and they did not rush anything. I am pleased with the final product and I would hire them again in the future.

Sharon and Ed came out. They were very professional, measured and gave us options. Within a couple of days, we had a bid broken down by components. As we gathered other bids, no one was like OC Decks in professionalism. We were so glad that we went with them. They communicated with us throughout the process. We never had to guess what was going to happen. The guys showed up early and worked all day. The only delay was for the timber tech due to back log at the port. They went over and beyond to make our deck spectacular. I have never had such a pleasant experience with a remodel. I can not thank them enough for making the process so smooth and for the gorgeous deck and railing we now have.

It started as a Deck repair, but when they found the wood was rotten and termite-infested, the entire deck had to be demolished and rebuilt. I am extremely pleased with the finished product. It is so much better than the original.

OC Decks did a great job from the first meeting for estimate to last day of the job. Ed and Sharon, the owners who came out, were very helpful in outlining what needed to be done. New French doors were installed and the coordination between OC Decks and the window installer worked out great. The repairs to our large balcony deck were more involved after removing the old deck, and Sharon kept me informed of exactly what needed to be done and the cost involved. They did a superb job, replacing stucco that was torn out, and matching paint perfectly to the walls and trim involved. Alexia in the office was very personable and helpful throughout the job. The crew were very respectful, honoring the quarantine, never coming in the house, using ladders to reach the balcony for all the work. OC Decks came highly recommended to me by a local real estate broker that I trust completely. I would highly recommend OC Decks and feel they are competitive in price. The quality and care of their job is A+.

OC Decks did a fabulous job from start to finish and deserves an A++ grade! My mother needed her 484 square foot deck above a 3-car garage waterproofed. She had previously repaired the existing roofing material that was really old but there were still problems with leaking. So I found three companies (from Angie's List and Yelp) and scheduled them to inspect and provide proposals to remove the existing roofing material and install a new waterproofed deck. Of the three companies that we interviewed and received proposals, we liked OC Decks the best for the following reasons: 1) Ed and Sharon Kim, the owners, came out to meet us on the first visit while the other two companies sent estimators; 2) Ed suggested installing wood pickets to the existing wood railing to make it more secure and showed us pictures of another project where he finished a similar installation; 3) Ed said he would repair the deck stucco walls and paint to match the existing color; 4) OC Decks provided a step-by-step proposal of the project; and 5) Their three references spoke very highly of the quality of the work by OC Decks. While OC Decks original proposal was not the cheapest, we felt liked the project scope because new wood pickets would be installed in addition to waterproofing the deck. We had to wait for OC Decks about 1.5 months before the start date because they had a backlog of projects. But OC Decks was worth the wait. It took them 2 weeks to complete the project with Lorenzo and Abraham at the project every day and occasional visits from Miguel the foreman. Alexia, the office assistant, emailed me pictures of their progress every day and I spoke with Sharon and Ed several times about their recommended changes and approval of two change orders. My mother is thrilled with her new waterproofed deck and updated wood railing and I thought that the workmanship was excellent. This remodeling project was a success from start to finish. We were very pleased with both the process and the outcome of the project. We received clear explanations and sound recommendations from OC Decks on what needed to done. The work was done in a timely manner, and the work area was well maintained and kept cleaned up during the project, and any existing structure (e.g., balcony railing) was not damaged. We were impressed with the professionalism and performance of the workers.

I called to have someone come out to view job and give a estimate and no one ever called me back.???

We had serious storm damage as a result of shoddy work done by another deck company, requiring that our decks be redone. OC Decks came out and gave us a best case, worse case scenario and made sure we understood the issues. They kept us in the loop the entire time. We ended up having to demolish down to the joists where we found that several joists were in bad shape. The team showed us the damage, gave their recommendations (though they recommended we sister joist 6 beams, we decided to do all the exposed beams so there would no be issues in the future) providing detailed change orders and reasonable charges. The crew were professional, courteous and each night cleaned up. This company is not the cheapest way to go, but if you want quality work done by professionals that stand by their work, this is the company to use. I will be using OC Decks to maintain our decks and heartily recommend them.

OC Decks was absolutely amazing from start to finish. They came on time, gave a fair and accurate quote and advice, and their team members were consistently punctual, neat, and professional. This was a very emotional project for me- as a single mother running a household alone with tight resources, it is very scary to have to crack your "nest egg" and trust that you are making the right decisions about what work needs to be done, who can and should do it, and if the price is fair. I received 3 quotes and OC Decks was not only the most reasonable, the scope of work was more comprehensive (7-layer process) and the detail/description helped me understand exactly what was going to be done and why it was necessary. They were upfront about possible additional expenses (if they found additional damage, termites, etc,) and the range of options. I felt very safe and secure- like my home was in very good hands and that they were truly looking out for what would be best for me, my family, and my finances. I highly recommend them- and have already to neighbors. In fact, my immediate neighbor next door remarked at how impressed he was with their work (we have the exact some house layout) and noted that he paid more to have a lesser job done 10 years ago! I feel confident that I got the best quality and the best deal- and feel very thankful that I found OC Decks. I wish I had a "before" picture, but the "after" picture captures the true sanctuary that OC Decks helped me create!

Ed and Sharon are awesome! Sharon was the go to on the project and communication was fabulous- she always responded super fast to any question or concern I had along the way. She was constantly working to problem solve and make sure everything was done right. This company is very fair and works hard. Getting a deck repaired is a very stressful process with the financial cost and all the unknowns involved. Throughout it all I felt very well taken care of- they went above and beyond for me. Everyone I came into contact with was very professional. A shout out to Mario- he was working closely on the project and took it to the finish- he also went above and beyond to make sure the final touches were completed. The workers had to enter my home and climb two flights of stairs to access the deck. Every one treated it like it was their home. They laid tarps and cleaned up each day. It could not have been done better. This is coming from a "clean freak" perspective!!

OC Decks more than met my expectations. The owners, Ed and Sharon Kim, came out to look at and evaluate the project, gave me an acceptable cost estimate and time frame for the work to be completed. They had no problem with me having already picked out the new composite decking material at Lowe's, they took care of everything. Their workers showed up on time every day, worked diligently at dismantling the old decking and preparing an all-new base and framing for the new one. They used good and appropriate tools, knew exactly what they were doing. The new decking slats were placed just right and they finished everything off to my satisfaction. The workmen were polite and considerate of my backyard. I was able to communicate with them easily. Ed and Sharon came out again to inspect the completed job and to make sure I was completely satisfied. I had intended to pay by credit card but was informed that a 3% surcharge would have to be added to the cost. The invoice did not state this fact and I was not told this at the time the estimate was given. I had no problem paying by check but someone else may and I'd suggest that this information be communicated to the customer ahead of time. I had a leak in my garage and damage in an adjacent outside power closet that needed to be assessed. Ed figured out that the leak was from the balcony above and through the flooring. Cracks in the stucco were also contributing to the leak. Sharon & Ed were fantastic to deal with. Their attention to detail was very much appreciated. I wasn't at home for most of the job and Sharon continued to send me pictures and even a video to show me how things were going. Repair looked great and with the recent rains all seems leak free. I would defiantly recommend OC Decks. Great work!
