GREAT SCOTT MAINTENANCE

Scott was very prompt with a visit and provided a comprehensive quote the same day. His enthusiasm for his work and love of fine wood work was very evident. He began our project on a Saturday, with a helper he sanded both rooms and applied the first coat of finish the same day. He finished up the following Monday. Very conscientious about cleanliness and keeping dust to a minimum. Repeatedly apologized about the noise, which was unavoidable. Scott is also a very nice guy, very smart and a good conversationalist. I'm very pleased with the final result and would recommend Scott to anyone.

My Brazilian cherry floors in the family room had lots of staining from pets and needed help. Scotts Maintenance did a great job removing the stains and restoring the floor. It looks great now. I would highly recommend them.

Scott is friendly and professional. Communication was quick. He was a few hundred dollars less than another company's quote so we hired him. The job took about a day and a half. I rated B on price because it seems like a lot for floor cleaning, but I guess that's what you pay in SoCal! The stone is absolutely clean & shiny, but it wasn't too bad to start. The dingy grout was the reason for the cleaning. Plus, some grout had become missing. Scott replaced the missing grout. However, overall the grout is not as light as when we moved in 2.5 years ago, but Scott assured us he cleaned as clean as it could be. He suspected our maid was using something oily like Pine-Sol, but I found out later they use a stone & granite cleaner, so that's not it after all. I hope the 'clean' lasts longer than a couple of years. If not, we may bite the bullet and replace with engineered wood. Our previous residence had wood and in the 5 years we lived there, it never needed this type of cleaning and always looked gorgeous!

Scott was awesome, he is reliable and takes great pride in his work. He would not leave until the work was up to his standards. He came back a couple of times to inspect and make sure we where happy with his work. I would strongly recommended Scott and I will have him do more work around the house. He is a hard worker and gain my respect. I would give him a 10 rating.

Scott is the greatest! He was easy to work with, extremely knowledgeable, very hard working and created the most beautiful perfect oak hardwood floors. He took my very old, very worn oak floors and returned them to outstanding! Thanks, Scott!!

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Scott is very professional, friendly and attentive to detail. It is remarkable that he was able to restore our grout to it's former color AND able to fix the small chips (which I didn't expect or even ask for) in the tile. He also took the time to recolor a few small strips of grout near our shower that stood out awkwardly from a bathroom remodel we did. He exceeded our expectations in every respect. HIGHLY recommended and a true gentleman, to boot.

We had a great experience- Scott was punctual, friendly, and sincere. He spent over 5 hours slaving away on the shower and it looked great after. A couple few weeks later we noticed a couple areas that needed some attention and Scott came back and touched them up for no cost. I highly recommend working with Great Scott.

Scott was punctual in our appointment. He was professional and honest. He originally quoted me a much higher price, but determined that it wasn't involved as he originally thought given my photos I had sent him. He did a great job on my shower/bath floor in re-grouting problem areas. I would definitely recommend him and use him again.

Scott was professional & polite & conscientious. Sadly enough, I think some of the Angie's List providers are aggravated when they come out, due to high responses and possibly getting paid less than they would like. This was not the case with Scott. He let the finish dry amply between coats and didn't act rushed. The floor is old and was stripped of its original finish and Scott worked h****** getting a nice sheen back on it. He did some minor repairs on the floor too, without charging extra. The floor looks much better after Scott worked his magic.

He did an amazing job! He cares, really professional and nice - he felt like part of the family. He really loves wood, and his work! He gave me a list of recommendations for the stain, and made a grid to show me what it'd look like. He made my 80 year old wood floor look new! All the stains and rot are gone.

WOW! Scott is a 10+++ in my book! From estimate to completion he is a first rate guy and I would highly recommend you call him first for any flooring maintenance needs you have. He is timely, considerate, very reasonably priced, very professional and most of all his work and work ethic is above and beyond! We just purchased a home and the hardwood floors were abnormally shiny. When other companies told us we needed to re-finish the floors for ten's of thousand of dollars, Scott explained and showed us how the floors were just a victim to an over application of Bona Hardwood Floor Polish. He said he could clean them back to their original glory and he did! Our floors look brand new and Scott and his crew did it for almost 1/10th the price other companies wanted to charge us. We have almost 5,000 sq feet of flooring that Scott worked on for 2 days. Yesterday he and his crew were there for almost 11 hours working diligently; they were committed to getting the job done! They even threw in my balcony. At the end of the day he and his crew were just as kind and pleasant as they were when starting the job! They worked so hard. We have already talked to him about coming back and taking care of the discolored tile in our courtyard. Wish all contractors and service people ran their business like Scott does!

Scott Sandberg was the best. He consistently delivered what he promised. Every morning he arrived on time (actually, he was a few minutes early every time), which is such a welcome change from so many contractors. He wanted us to be happy, and went out of his way to create the perfect stain. He achieved a very contemporary greyish color, still showing all the wood grain. He was very meticulous with his work, and reapplied several coats of stain and varnish. We now have gorgeous hardwood floors that don't look refinished -- they look like they were newly installed! His pricing was fair, and he was a pleasure. We let him and his helper work in our house while we went out of town, and were totally comfortable. He is very trustworthy, very professional, and takes pride in his work. We recommend him highly.

He did a great job. Our floors look amazing. It looks like we installed brand new hardwood floors. You cannot tell where he replaced damaged boards He gave us a quote and let us get back to him when we were ready. After a couple weeks and 3 other quotes, we decided to go with Scott. We decided to stay with my parents while he was working because we have small children. Scott was great at keeping us up to date. He sent us picture of his progress, called us everyday and welcomed our family that came to check in. After he sanded the floors, he put down 5 stain samples so we could pick the one we liked the best. When he was done, he thought the floor could one more layer of finish so he added a 4th coat with no additional charge. He completed the project in 5 days. When we buy our next home, we will be calling him to do our hardwood floors.

It was good. They didn't refinish the floor, they just buffered it and it looks great. He did it promptly because we were going to be moving in for the next few days and he was able to offer a solution to the problem that wasn't totally refinishing. It's just to make it look good for now and he did a great job.

A stellar job! I called yesterday and spoke with Scott, who was able to fit me into his very busy schedule on short notice. He arrived on time and explained in detail what he planned to do and what to expect in terms of cost and how long it would take. The floor was very dirty and looked terrible. I'm a pretty good DIY person, and I had stripped and re-sealed it myself twice, but it never came out very well. Scott is a true professional and knows his chemicals - he had some kind of "secret sauce" that stripped the old stuff right off. It looks fabulous now. He put three coats of wax on it and it's better than it was when it was new. Scott was very generous with his time, and even explained to me what I could do to clean my wood floors if I wanted to do it myself. When he left, he sold me some of the high grade polish that he uses at his cost. I really could not be more pleased, and Scott is a great guy besides!

overall my experience was excellent

Met with him on job and he sounded like he was qualified to do job. Next day received phone call telling me that he wasn't sure he would be able to do project the way I wanted. We met again and he decided to do it. He proceeded to sand floors to remove all stain and texture. So far so good. Applied first coat of stain and let sit overnight. Next day applied second coat and this is where first mistake was made. We were looking for a very dark finish and he decided to leave the stain on without wiping it off. We looked at it the next day and it appeared to be good. He proceeded to apply clear coats (polyurethane) and floor looked great a couple days later. We moved all furniture including a piano back onto floors. A week goes by and I notice some of the clear coats are peeling off. He comes back out and decides he needs to sand all of the finishes off again and start over. He says he shouldn't have left stain on with out wiping it off before applying clear coats. I begrudgingly agree. This time he sands through the veneer at a couple locations. He finishes the floor the proper way this time and it looks great except the areas where it was sanded through. He attempts to fix these areas but is not able to get it right. I now have no choice but to hire someone else to repair these sections. First an additional repair was attempted but inevitably I had to remove and replace 2 of the sections of wood and finish them to match. He did go over and above what he had contracted to do but I felt like he wasn't really qualified to do the project. The first red flag was he had all rental equipment from Home Depot and then the materials used (stain and polyurethane) were not the typical that flooring professionals use (I believe they were bought at Home Depot as well). He was very polite and really tried hard to make the project right but in the end he was not able to finish it complete.

Scott and Don did a great job. They are craftsmen and artists both. On time every day and finsihed the job in 6 days as promised. I highly recommend Scott and his team of professionals.
