+ -1 moreRick was prompt, friendly and professional. He offered and explained several options. We agreed on a compact fairly simple unit and a couple days later he installed it. He made an extra effort to maximize adjacent storage space . . . even though tucking tight to back and side walls was more difficult for him. A week later, Rick stopped by our home to make sure that we had no issues/questions regarding the new unit. This follow-up made Rick a "star" in my view.
Description of Work: Replaced old Kenmore softener with a new "Flect" softener and hauled off the old unit.

Description of Work: The cost is in line with everybody else these people are extremely courteous. Have a wonderful lady working in the office. Never had a complaint they're always calling me on time to see if I need anything. I never complain if I have to change appointments

Description of Work: They replace our salt water conditioning system and installed a undersink R/O unit. They were quick and efficient. We have been using "Fred's Softwater" for over 20 years and they have always delivered excellent quality customer service.

+ 0 moreAfter being told by another provider that my soft water system needed to be replaced, I asked Fred's for a second opinion. And Rick was awesome. He was a straightshooter and very thorough. I never got the feeling that he was trying to sell me something or take advantage of my ignorance. He explained everything as he went--and confirmed that, indeed, my current system is working just fine. After my experience today, I'm dumping the people who normally provide this service and going exclusively with Fred's.
Description of Work: Inspected soft water mechanisms and measured current output.

Description of Work: SERVICED MY SOFT WATER SOFTENER. REPLACED THE TIMER. AND ALSO REPLACED A FLOAT DEVISE IN TANK CAUSING THE MACHINE NOT TO WORK PROPERLY.

+ -1 moreSaid he could fix the leak in my old softener but it was not taking any commands to recharge. I decided to go with renting a softener for $25 a month. He had to come back to install it so he turned off the leaking softener and put it on bypass. He returned in a couple of days and was able to use all the salt in the old one plus 2 extra bags I had so I had no salt charge. He hauled the broken softener away and cleaned up the garage floor. Very quick and efficient.
Description of Work: Removed the old softener and replaced it with a rental.

Description of Work: I called Fred's and explained the problem that I was having with my brand specific commercial softener. Fred's said that they did not work on my brand, but said he would have someone that did, call me right away. I received a call from Big Mike within an hour of speaking with Fred's. Big Mike knew his stuff and had me up and running within a couple of hours. I was so happy with the referral that I even bought an RO system from him. I installed the RO system on Saturday and had a few questions. I call up Mike and he walked me right through it. Great job Big Mike! Thank you Fred's for having enough confidence in your own business to refer a quality professional to me. I will never forget you and your great service!

+ -1 moreMy water softener hadn't been serviced in 10 years; it started screaming a year ago, and I just unplugged it. I couldn't find anyone to repair it, so it sat for a year. I found this company on Angie's list. Rick came out promptly and not only figured out the problem, he helped me clean out the tank, taught me how to check the system myself and even gave me a manual he had on hand. He could have milked this for a whole lot more, but he has the integrity and pride of knowing he knows his stuff. I can't give a higher recommendation. Wish I could find more people like him.

+ 0 moreRick, the repairman was prompt, friendly, knowledgible and reasonable priced. His work was skillfully done as he has been in the business for around 40 years. I would definitely recommend him to others with any type of water softener problems.
Description of Work: Repaired leak on the mechanism that processed the water. The leak was a slow drip that had to be analyzed by taking apart the mechanism and replacements of washers and tabs were done. Additional problem that occurred while repairing, was the water pipe leaking caused by corrosion and was replaced.

+ -1 moreTHIS REPAIRMAN WAS VERY PUNCTUAL AND COURTEOUS. HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WAS HONEST BASED ON THE AGE OF OUR WATER SYSTEM. HE CLEANED UP AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED.
