They came on time, they were perfect, the quote was exact the GGI quoted me $684 but the coast overhead garage charged me $364 for the same job.
Description of Work: They did rubber stripping for both of my doors.

My 2nd edited review was quite mild (giving them the benefit of the doubt) but here is the truth now: They took my awning manuals on purpose. They thought that by doing so I would be limited in what I learned and how to adjust my $5,000 dollar awnings. (and they knew if I saw my manuals I would see just how easy it was to install without needing them.) How this conclusion was made? One of the installation manuals was found in my trash bin torn up (by hand) into little bitty pieces. (The other Pat admitted over the phone that he grabbed it by mistake.) The last time I had seen something torn up like that was when you didn't want someone reading or gaining knowledge of something on that paper. Otherwise why would Pat take the time to tear up the installation instructions into little pieces. - Ummmm.... know what a PDF online is??? Apparently not. (and it's no wonder he tore it up. The install is so basic.) The bottom line: (Chronologically) -Bought two expensive motorized awnings. -Called and got Anthony on the phone. -Without confirmation Anthony and Pat show up at my doorstep the next day. (You'd think wow what superb service right?) Keep reading... - They drill 16 holes - Anthony starts drilling the holes before I could scratch my a**. - They charge me $800 dollars to drill 16 holes in stucco. (17 because actually Anthony messed up and drilled one in the wrong spot.) - To haul away the containers that my motorized awnings came in - Anthony said $25 dollars. (Most companies that charge you a rate like that would have hauled it off for free and also my city trash would have done it for free as well. - but I let them do it because I was so happy I was getting this installed) TOTAL: $825 to drill 16 holes. -That's not all ! I asked if they could tack my power cords to the stucco. They said they don't do that and that wouldn't be included in the installation price. Really? Yeah let's leave a motor cord from a high priced high class awning just dangling -in the dirt of the planter area. Really nice presentation! - Despite their hefty price INITIALLY I felt like I was getting service from two stand up individuals. Boy was I wrong! This has not been the case. (These guys must be in some serious debt or something desperate.) - First I noticed that the manuals were missing. Pat said that he or Anthony would return stop by and return them the following week. - They never came by and since then I have left messages because I need one of the arms adjusted as it is not level and hanging too low. - run around, run around, run around. - do not return my phone calls. -Weeks later I spoke to a "Peggy" on the phone who assured me they would return my call. - never returned my call. These guys are truly AWFUL!!! Once they already got paid for a job (OVER PAID) they just move on to the next victim. Wow if I could go drill 16 holes everyday and make what they made off me each time? I wouldn't need a Bachelor's or Master's degree ! I was ready to put them in my book for future use and refer many friends and relatives. Forget it. I'm glad I didn't. That would have been embarrassing. AVOID THESE "I WANT TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK" F#%KS. They do not even know how to use a level!!! 2nd edited original review: (1st one was actually a great review talking about how I thought they were the last of a dying breed of good ol' American contractors - then after a few run around phone calls (after they already got my money) I realized it wasn't true - then it was revised to this review: If you didn't buy the product through them - their installation charge is extremely expensive. Also if your unit(s) come with manuals make sure you retrieve them or make it known you want them or it will be assumed that they're trash. Another thing regarding if you don't buy the product from them - they will charge you extra for throwing containers and boxes away. (if you want them to throw away) Most would assume that came with the high installation charge - was charged $800.00 for installation and $25.00 for throwing containers away. The install took roughly 3 hours.
Description of Work: drilled 16 holes and hung two awnings.

The price for purchasing the awning and installing was lower than anticipated. The delivery schedule was longer than anticipated. I was told it would be 3 weeks and it was more like 5 weeks. I don't know if the problem was with the manufacturer or Coast. I was not given notice of a delay, and when I finally called they said they would install it the following Tuesday, but I got no confirmation. Finally on Friday when I was ready to call them, they called and we agreed on a date the following week. The technician was very professional, very friendly, and did the job in a timely manner of getting it installed and then showing me how it operated. However, when I placed the order I wanted and paid for electrical work ($150) to get an external box added for the motorized plug. After it was installed I noticed that the box was not installed and the motor was plugged into a different outlet. The technician was not aware of the order to install the box, and it turns out the motor was ordered for the wrong side of the awning to accommodate the location of the box. I had also asked for a new garage door opener receiver due to interference with the naval facilities radio communication causing my garage door opener to work with great difficulty. We discussed several options and I agreed to installing a new opener at a cost of $350.00 for the opener and the installation. He agreed to come out the following Friday am and was prompt and installed the power outlet, moved the motor around and installed the opener. It has worked perfectly so the option chosen was the best. The few bumps were not serious enough to cause me to not want to use them again or to not recommend them.
Description of Work: I originally contacted them as the local Sunsetter Awning dealer to purchase and install one of the retractable awnings and have an external power outlet installed for the electric motor. I then added a new garage door opener.

THE PROFESSIONALISM AND THE FRIENDLINESS WASN'T JUST BUSINESS-LIKE. HE TOOK THE TIME TO SEE THAT THE BOTTOM LINING WAS MOLDING AND HE REPLACED IT. HE ASKED IF I WANTED TO HAVE IT REPLACED, WHAT HE WOULD REPLACE IT WITH, AND HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST ME.
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED A GARAGE DOOR AND I HAD THEM COME OUT TO ADJUST A SLANT ON THE DOOR.

I HAD TO CALL A COUPLE OF TIMES OVER A WEEK PERIOD BEFORE SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME, BUT IT WAS A GOOD PRICE SO I PERSISTED. THE GUY THAT SHOWED UP WAS NEGATIVE ABOUT THE PLAUSIBILITY OF THE INSTALL, ALTHOUGH WE HAD ALREADY MEASURED AND WE WERE RIGHT. HE SEEMED MIFFED ABOUT THAT. HE ESTIMATED THAT USUALLY IT WOULD BE A WEEK FOR INSTALLATION, BUT SINCE THIS WAS A SPECIAL ORDER, IT WOULD TAKE 3 WEEKS. SEVEN WEEKS LATER WE GOT OUR DOOR. WE LIKE THE DOOR, GOOD PRICE, BUT TERRIBLE SALES GUY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Description of Work: WE HAD A PLAIN WHITE ONE PIECE SMALL PANELED GARAGE DOOR INSTALLED. ONE PIECES AREN'T AVAILABLE ANYMORE SO IT WAS A SPECIAL ORDER.
