carpet cleaners
+ -1 moreThis company quotes 2 rooms for $69!! Since I had used them last year, I knew it would be more for my stairs and small hallway--I paid @$125 last year. Well, when the 2 guys showed up yesterday, one wearing an AllBright shirt, he proceeds to tell me that its going to cost me $149.98 for carpets, $120 for carpet protection & $195 for deep cleaning!! I asked what happened to the $69 for 2 rooms? He said that didn't apply & told me he could do the job for $290.00! I said that was more than double what I paid them last year & I couldn't afford it! We settled on $250.00 which I still was not happy about, but, since I still have to have my windows cleaned & needed my carpets done & dried before the windows could be done, I was stuck! I spoke with the office this morning, but all the lady did was apologize and said that she was sorry that I was not pleased with the price--I told her they didn't even do under the bed--which every one else has done! They also left the stair SOAKING!!! I STILL have heaters blowing on them!!! I told the woman this morning that I will NEVER use this company again!! The vehicle they used this time didn't have ANY company decal, it was a rusted out white panel van!!!

Description of Work: I called this company to set up an appointment for a quote to clean VCT floors. The initial call went well and got an appointment for someone to come out the next day. My work doesn't allow me to always answer my phone, which I said on the initial call. Wednesday came and the worker never arrived. At the end of my day I had a message from earlier in the day, the guy was calling to confirm. I called him back and told him I had already confirmed the day before and was unable to answer my phone during the day, the biggest issue was that he cleaned linoleum floors, not VCT floors. He was nice enough to call the office and let them know they were sending out the wrong guy. I wasn't too upset at this point, my work situation is challenging and miscommunications happen. I received a call the next day from the receptionist, she said she was going to send her boss, we arranged an span of time for him to come. I got a call Friday to confirm for Saturday, again she said linoleum and I corrected her again, but the appointment was confirmed. Saturday came and went, nobody showed up and nobody ever called. I'll try someone else.

Description of Work: On December 15 I was scammed big time! I wanted my dryer vent cleaned (it's long and requires a professional every year or so) and the furnace checked for safety and cleaning. What I got was a sales job that I naively accepted as necessary. The whole operation--"cleaning" the air duct vents (which is highly questionable) and "sanitizing" them--took 1.5 hours with one "technician" and cost $600. It is my fault for not sending him packing out the door. I really do know better. But--if they are listed on Angie's List, I want your clients to know DO NOT CALL OR TRUST ALLBRIGHTOC. When I contacted the company the next day, asking for at least a $100 deduction in the bill because I know that at least 3 of the vents were not cleaned--of the 8 for which I was charged $30 per. The crown molding in the living and family room prevents those vents from being removed--and there are only 4 other ones in the house. I received two replies stating that I signed it (I did, much to my regret) and live with it!

carpet cleaners
+ -1 moreAfter allowing the carpet to dry, it was apparent that the traffic areas had not gotten cleaned properly. I called them back and talked with the owner (Tim) who assured me they would stand behind their work and scheduled a return for 11:00 to 3:00 on Saturday (holiday weekend). We waited all day with a no show and never a follow up call to explaing their abscence or reschedule. I think they talk a good game, but don't live up to their promises.
Description of Work: Schedule them to clean carpets based on a three room plus hallway for $125.00. They had cold call with information on the special and my wife set it up. When they arrived they at first would not honor the hallway work as quoted. They were more interested it trying to provide additional services (duct cleaning) than doing the work. I ointed out the high traffic areas that I wanted special attention to and the indicated they would pretreat and get the traffic stains out. The two man team was in and out in less than an hour, after offering to clean the dining room abolstery. I had to encourage them to move the dining room table out so that the area could be cleaned properly. The left the carpets far wetter than prior efforts have done.
