Nick and his apprentice Matthew were very friendly and efficient. They arrived on time and quickly diagnosed my dryer problem. They replaced the blower and charged a reasonable price. The oven would take 45 minutes or longer to heat up to a temperature sufficient to bake. Samsung sent two repairmen on two different occasions but both said it was "within spec" and did nothing and left. Out of frustration we called A-1 Certified Appliance based on their reviews on Angie's list and company summary. Nick, the owner, came to our house and identified the issue immediately and repaired the oven within a half hour. Nick's experience from years of doing repairs with various mfg. and models enabled him to quickly determine the issue and repair it. We definitely are keeping A-1 Certified Appliance business card and phone number for future reference. We would definitely call them again and call them first.

GE French door refrigerator with bottom freezer. Freezer is working fine, but the refrigerator temperature was hovering at dangerous temp (between 50-60 degrees F). After YouTube research, I was convinced that I had an evaporator system malfunction. I contacted Nick @ A-1 Certified Appliance Repair for a diagnosis. We spent 15 min talking about the fridge problem, and what he recommended was to defrost the fridge and freezer for 48 hours because the drain line was probably plugged with ice and not draining properly. Since he has been in the refrigerator repair business for over 30 years, he had seen all the issues. Fast forward one week later when I finally had the time to defrost the fridge & freezer for 48 hours. The fridge is now working well for the past 3 days with the temp hovering between 32-38 degrees F. Nick knows his stuff, and I applaud him for his no-B.S. and honest diagnosis for just a service fee visit! His recommendation saved me $400 + if I had him install a new evaporator system. Unlike other service industries which uses unethical scare tactics to sell unassuming consumers unneeded and useless service, I so appreciate Nick's honesty and work ethic to recommend a cheaper solution rather than recommending a new evaporator system as I initially mentioned. I even appreciate his mentioning that if the defrosting did not quickly solve my problem, then I can call him to schedule a follow-up visit where he would dismantle the rear of the fridge to fully diagnose the problem. In his 30-years' experience, he said that 9 out of 10 times, my issue would be solved with defrosting. Nick does more than just fridge repair (i.e. washer, dryer, oven, dishwasher, stove, just to name a few). I will definitely use him for future appliance repairs, and he is a local chap in the Huntington Beach area.

First off, the office staff was very pleasant to work with. They showed genuine concern and were able to accommodate my needs in a timely manner. Nick showed up on time and had the Dryer problem assessed in a very short amount of time. He gave me a quote, which I accepted, and then immediately began work. He took the entire Dryer apart (needed to replace all of the worn parts), replaced the defective parts, CLEANED THE ENTIRE DRYER, and put everything back together in what seemed like no time at all. The Dryer is working better than it has in a long time!!! Nick's professionalism and easy manner were a pleasure to work with. Will call on him again if I have any Appliance Problems.

Called A-1 Certified Appliance Repair early in the day regarding our 12 yr old KitchenAid fridge; freezer working fine but NO cooling on fresh side. No one was available but my husband left a message. Nick returned his call as soon as he could between jobs & he came out later that SAME DAY after finishing earlier scheduled repairs. Nick not only perfectly repaired our fridge that we originally called about BUT ALSO our 8 yr old GE wall oven that had suddenly stopped working a few years ago. Now, lest you think we are crazy/nuts for previously not even INQUIRING about repairing the oven (Lo these many LONG years), here's the thing: My hubby is very creative AND a really good cook; he has continued doing so with the NOT WORKING oven, using only the broiler function which DID still work! He has even cooked (perfectly) a few 16lb turkeys plus several larger roasts etc etc etc FYI . . . !! We want to do a kitchen upgrade/remodel (hopefully sooner than later); therefore, we didn't want to spend really ANY money on this older small oven since we were sorta getting by (thanks to Hubby's cooking chops) & we'd be getting a new one with the "redo" - PLUS we were expecting it to cost BIG $$ to repair. GUESS WHAT? Nick found that one simple part for the oven, just the ONE - called an igniter - was dead, so he replaced it. To our happy surprise, this was the ONLY issue keeping the oven from working like new AND it was NOT at all expensive (downright CHEAP if you ask me)! So, overall? Nick is totally professional, thoroughly knowledgeable & well qualified. Personally, he is kind, friendly, amiable, conversational (about the job/appliances themselves + just in general), funny & completely "at ease". It was actually really pleasant, almost comforting, to have him around our home while doing his repairs. That's not always the case; even with excellent repair jobs, sometimes you get a grumpy, grouchy or "strong but silent" type guy that makes the overall experience relatively unpleasant & awkward. Not so with NICK! From here going forward, we will ONLY be using NICK from A-1 CERTIFIED APPLIANCE REPAIR for any & ALL appliance repairs. I don't have a single issue regarding our experience with Nick that doesn't rate an A+. I had chosen to call Nick over other appliance repair listings while honestly feeling more than just a little bit hesitant, since he only had 7 posted reviews when I found him on Angie's. Others I read about & considered had on average many, MANY more posted/detailed reviews (a few had 100 or more). However, each of the 7 folks who reviewed Nick rated him an A in EVERY category; one review stated that they have been using Nick for 10 yrs now & would never call anyone else. That review - plus all his other really good reviews - made me decide to give Nick a chance over the numerous other appliance repair guys who had really A LOT of very good (all A's & B's usually) & also MANY more reviews posted. We are SO happy that we made the choice to call NIck. Everything from start to finish was just really easy & flowed along like a river. Nick is a pleasure to have working in your home & he REALLY knows his stuff. I was SO thrilled just to have our fridge working again with very minimal cost (have YOU priced NEW fridges lately? HOLY COW & BIG YIKES! especially if you want a 3 or 4 door "French" style fridge - which is the preferred & most widely produced type according to CR) plus Nick's professional opinion that we will get at least 10, maybe even 15 more yrs out of it! (I was already prepared, via Consumer Reports ratings, to buy a new fridge ASAP; while we continued dumping out melted ice water & reloading every cooler we owned with MORE fresh ice, trying not to lose any food). I had even done some preliminary price comparison browsing online starting with Lowe's, expecting that the repair costs would be too high, considering our current fridge was purchased (at Lowe's) in 2006 . . . O Ye of Little Faith, right? NO, NOT! Once I had researched & chosen Nick late on Saturday night & after spending same Saturday night + all day/night Sunday (continuing on into Monday till Nick arrived) getting down ALL our coolers, filling them with the perishables & subsequently/periodically needing to RELOAD all with fresh/UNMELTED ice (Nick does not post any Sunday hours, SAME as all the other appliance repair guys we also researched on Angie's) . . . SO, the call to Nick was put in on Monday morning & by dinnertime Monday, our broken fridge was like new again & humming along merrily! AND we now have a perfectly running oven again too! We highly recommend Nick & give him the most excellent rating!
