• Ductless Mini Splits
o Basic central air setup.
Works as an air conditioner without the ducts.
o Instead of a single condenser feeding into a single air handler, a ductless mini split will have multiple air handlers.
o Central air uses ductwork where all the rooms get air evenly.
o In a mini split, every room is getting air individually.
o The indoor unit blows air from your home over cold evaporator coils.
Pulls in warm air and then releases cold air.
It cools the home by connecting to 1 outdoor unit.
o Within the outside unit, the refrigerant dumps the heat it took from your home’s air.
o In a regular split system, the indoor unit is usually in the attic or closet.
o The central purpose is to take your home’s indoor air and transfer it to its central location where it’s being cooled and returned to the home.
o Many advantages over a AC system
o They are heat pumps so they can heat and cool without a separate heater.
o Easier installation and alternative to installing multiple ductworks.
o Temperature controlling, in each room, due to each room having its own indoor unit.
o Many different options
Ceiling recessed ducts
Horizontal ducts
Floor mounts
o Prices may vary dependent
