Jerry from Precision came out, discovered the problem and corrected it but also took extra time to be sure my door was properly balanced, opener aligned and stops properly set. He did not leave until he was satisfied that everything was right. I love his dedication and caring customer support. Very satisfied with the quality and the cost.

Excellent. James W. arrived on Saturday morning after we called Precision Door Service on Friday night. he had the door unjammed and working in no time and I felt confident with the workmanship and his expertise. I would call them again and recommend them as well.

The Pros: Answered the phone at 5am when I called. Very courteous on the phone, detailed, and immediately gave an acceptable window (10am-2pm). The Cons: Didn't call ahead of time despite telling me he would (minor). Coming near the end of the window (minor). Then the work was "You have to get all these things new", which included two springs, a roller, and two drums. The full cost was $1125 with installation. I then checked and found a new door, fully installed, from another company would be closr to $1300, and it would include an actual new door, springs, motor, and everything else. We ended up paying because our car was trapped in the garage before the guy arrived, and we didn't feel comfortable saying "No" after he started working. So, while prompt, if you can avoid calling them, you should.

It has been over a month now since James and Jerry came and repaired my boggled attempt to install a new garage door opener. I installed the opener on a Saturday and, the install was fairly easy, but the door just did not work right. The door would catch and sometimes get tweaked, not come up all the way, or go down all the way. I called Precision on Monday and was talking with an extremely pleasant and professional scheduler. She asked if they could come out the next day, Tuesday, and I explained that it would not work with my work schedule. She then explained that they have evening appointments, and that they have an opening for 5pm Tuesday. I booked the next day appointment. About 30 minutes before the appointment I received a call from James that he was on the wat and should arrive in about 15 – 20 minutes. Upon arriving, James introduced himself and Jerry, a training technician. After showing James/Jerry the new garage door opener installation and a visual inspection of the door, James (and Jerry concurred) that the problem was the spring. Based on the age, they also recommended that I replace the rollers with newer “nylon” rollers. They wrote up the contract and started the work. Less than an hour later they had replaced all parts, had the door opening and closing and started on “optimizing” the new opener setting the travel, adjusting the belt and setting the stops. They also showed me how to lubricate the moving parts. The total repair took about 2 hours and the door has NEVER work that effortlessly or quiet! James and Jerry were the epitome of professional and knowledgeable! The company needs to video these guys and use it as a training video for others. I cannot come up with one negative from this experience starting with the call to the repair service to the follow-up email asking if everything went well! NOTHING could have gone better! The workmen were scheduled to arrive-on a FRIDAY- in a little over an hour after I called Precision Door Service (thank you Leah-for being so kind and so professional). They, Mike Jones and his personable, hard working trainee arrived promptly ..., and even called me ten minutes prior to arriving...to let me know they were on their way. I was impressed...overwhelmed, actually...by the previously posted reviews. My own viewpoint is that there should be a way in which to rank them A++++++++++; I was 'over the moon' ... bowled over...by their performance. If I was offered $1,000 for each and every inadequacy noted during their time at the house, I would have netted exactly $0.00; perfection was accomplished. Might I also add that they would not leave until the work was done to their satisfaction (a higher mark than my own, to be sure); that meant missing dinner, and still having to go to another house to perform more work- before driving home (estimated to be 9 P.M., in all likelihood). All the same, they never grumbled or looked at their watches...they just worked happily and briefed me on each and every part of the job. Where the **** do you find people like Mike Jones ?!? I would trust and recommend Mike Jones to anyone and everyone. They/He Constitute THE BEST People...Doing the BEST Work! It Is Impossible To Commend Them Too Highly. We had an urgent situation. The spring had broken with my wife's car stuck in the garage (Those **** garage doors are too heavy to lift without the spring - lesson learned). James came the next day as scheduled. He had to work around our trapped car for most of the job. But he did it and was careful not to damage the car. He knew his stuff and had the spring and the door open repaired in short order.

Work was done quick and efficiently. The tech was professional and courteous.

When I was given the original estimate, I was NOT told about the extra charges that were on the bill. These were $20.00 for labor and $9.98 for a Fuel and Recycle Fee.

The installation was a difficult one for our 120+ year old Victorian in San Francisco's Mission District. Our garage door is both narrow and "short", and only one design of door would fit, and even then the installation was complicated. Moises, the installer, worked carefully to make sure this difficult job was a great success.

This company was very responsive, clear about timing and cost, offered convenient appointment times (after work hours!!), showed up on time, friendly and professional, and were also very sweet/patient with my curious children.

I would avoid this company at all cost. Precision grossly overcharged for services and took advantage of my elderly father in law. Precision charged my 90 year old father in law $320 for a part that can be purchased for $20 at Home Depot. They also charges $220 for 45 minutes of labor. I called the owner and he said he would refund $200. We have yet to receive the check. Aggies List needs to do a better job of screening its providers.

The job was completed in a reasonable time frame and the door works very well. The springs appear to be working as advertised and the door is much quieter after the tune-up.

Called and scheduled work and received estimate of $299 to replace both springs. When the installer looked at the door, he said it was a good idea to replace the 3 bearings. I asked how much and was given an outrageous price ( > $200) for parts that cost about $20 (there is no additional labor required for this, as the existing ones have to be removed to replace the springs). I said no thanks, and was then told that if I didn't do this there would be NO WARRANTY on the work! This is classic bait-and-switch, and seriously aggravating; I'm sure this is not the installer's policy, but it is completely unacceptable. I told him to leave immediately and that I would be writing this review. Not only did they cause me aggravation, but they wasted my time and now it will take longer to get the repair done.

I did not use this garage door company. They submitted an estimate. I selected another company to install my garage door.

Michael L. was the estimator representative and he was very informative and helpful with our options. Luigi our garage installer was professional and was unable to install the mail slot due to tools and parts needed. The mail slot was installed a full week after the initial garage door installation, after a few phone calls and talking with management. Better communication and follow through would have helped the situation. Overall, we would hire them again.

One of the springs on our ancient garage door broke yesterday (noted last night), so we called Precision Overhead Garage Door Service to replace both springs (as the other one is also over 25 years old). James came to day, and provided SUPERB service! Entirely professional and courteous/friendly, with no “up-selling”. He replaced both springs, reattached the door, and even upgraded our sensors with sensors he had replaced at another house (which despite being used, were newer than ours), and when the door did not work he swapped out the switch to see if that was the culprit before simply “rebooting” the motor by unplugging and plugging. The end result is a perfectly functional door, fully lubricated, with somewhat upgraded components (and brand new springs) all for the cost of just the new springs! James is a gem, and Precision is definitely our “go to” company for any future garage door needs. It’s always a real pleasure to experience excellent customer service in Silicon Valley in 2018, as it’s getting to be hard to find, so kudos to James and Precision Overhead Garage Door Repair!

First, Mike came out, looked at the door and opener. He said they weren't very old and all I needed were the panels. We set up an appointment for the installation. The installer arrived--even early --for the appointment. He got to work and let me know when he was finished. It was a beautiful job! I am very happy with them.

James did an amazing job installing our electric garage door opener. He arrived on time and worked fast. He was knowledgeable of the work that needed to be done and helped us make the right choice in selecting the opener that would work for our door. Very happy with the service we received.
