If I could give zero Stars I would, do not ever do business with this company. Run away as fast as possible! The Sales Person did not listen to me and give you paperwork you can not read or even understand, change dimensions and make you sign and pay pronto. Way over what they are allowed to charge the design was completely incorrect and when you try to deal with company they say "no money back" and don't even take care of the damage they cause to your home

do not ever do business with this company under any conditions. Run away as fast as possible! the designers do not listen to the customer and give you paperwork you can not read or understand, change dimensions and make you sign and pay pronto. the design is always incorrect and when you try to deal with company they say "no money back and now no product because you refused to accept incorrect design - as you signed contract." too bad , tough luck, your money is gone and you're left with nothing.

We paid 15,000 dollars for a medium size walk in closet back in 2015. We live between NY and LA and the closet was barely used during these years. The quality of finishing is so poor that the top layer is peeling in multiple places, both tilted hampers stopped working (one fell on my feet and hurt me), several decorative planks fell off. I have been trying to schedule repairs under their “7-year warranty” with no result! Originally I was told over the phone that they charge 89 dollars to come in to do repairs and all I need to do is to make a list of what is needed. I made a list and called them to schedule but this time was told they will charge me $120 dollars for someone to just “come to look at the damages and to give me an estimate”! I was shocked and mentioned the warranty but the representative laughed at me and said “what? You have so many damages, you want a brand new closet?” She refused to connect me to her supervisor. I tried to email my questions to them-no answer, called and asked for a supervisor many times- he is never available/at lunch/gone for the day. Today I signed the agreement to pay $120for them to just come over since I have no chpice. When I called to schedule an appointment, after signing the agreement, I was told they can’t schedule me in because everyone is gone for today and they are also very busy! Imagine that! I will be posting multiple photos I have. Please don’t repeat my mistakes, don’t order anything from this company! There are other companies who do stand behind their products.

I had read all the bad reviews before hiring Closet World, but I had such a good experience with Trey, the designer, who was punctual, gave me good advice, and was not pushy, that I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The booking and payment was easy, but once they got my money, it all changed. I had to call the day before the installation to confirm the appointment. Ok, no problem. I told them specifically that no one lived at the property so I would have to make a trip to meet the installer instead of waiting at the house all day. They said they would call 30 minutes out so I would have time to make the trip there. The installation time was given to me between 11-1. After 1:15 past and I did not receive any calls, I had to call the office to check what was happening. So it turns out the installer had already arrived at the house, was let in by a contractor working there, and proceeded to start installation without informing me. OK, fine, I got ready to leave. I arrived within 20 minutes of the phone call, to find the installer had already left. OK, I thought, maybe they are efficient, but I thought I had to sign a slip to say I was satisfied with the finished product. But no way was I satisfied with the finished product. The installer left a mess where he finished the install - since the house is a building site, ok, fine, I can clean it up. Then I look at the actual shelves and drawers. The wood/melamine is dented and warped in lots of places. Where they have drilled holes the wood is broken. The drawers don't close properly and don't line up and are all crooked. Because the installer had already left without even checking with me, I had to call the office to tell them I was not satisfied. They said they would get in touch with the installer to come back and fix the problems. I asked to be informed as I was at a building site. So I waited at the building site, half hour past and no phone call. I called the office again to be told they could not get hold of the installer and they would call me once they got hold of them. One hour and 0 phone calls later, I called the office again to be told the installer could not be reached and they would have to reschedule to come out again. Great! After already spending a day on this, I get to waste another day of my time so that they can fix their mistakes. Also, they charged my card for the finished product even though I NEVER gave the final ok. They couldn't come out until a week later to fix their mistake, and on the day of scheduled reappointment, where I have already made all sorts of arrangement to take yet ANOTHER day off, conveniently their "van broke down" and they couldn't come. However, they did not let me know of the cancelled appointment until 30 minutes past the appointment time, so there was no way I could go back to work or rearrange my other appointments anymore. So I already wasted 2 days waiting for them, rearranged my life to attend these appointments and now I have to do it again. I wonder how many times this will happen and how many days I have to take off. This is unbelievable. They have no problem charging my card though. Thank you for delivering an inferior product, not doing as promised, and wasting 2 days of my time and counting. I hope this review serves as a warning to others. Just go to ikea. You get much better quality for half the price.

This story has so far taken place over a 5 month period. 1. "Designer" wrote a contract for 5 cabinets. 2. I changed my mind and asked for 4 before I signed. The designer used white out on a carbon, multi-page form to change the figures. I paid half a down payment, the second payment covering the rest due upon installation. Note to Self - NEVER allow a contractor to white out a contract. Start with a new contract. 3. Day of installation, it was determined that 4 cabinets would not fit. By phone the manager gave me a figure verbally for the cost of the remaining 3 cabinets. No new written contract. Note to Self: NEVER sign off on delivery of a product or service on paperwork that shows incorrect figures, no matter what verbal assurances the delivery guys or the manager give. 4. Two days later my charge card is charged for the original 5-cabinet second payment. 5. Two weeks later two cabinets fall off the railings to the ground. They were replaced. 6. I call the manager to work out a resolution to being over-charged. He does not take the call. That day my charge card is charged an additional $300. My charge card company later gets that reversed. 7. The third cabinet falls off the railing to the ground. It is replaced. 8. The original second payment charge still stands on my charge card because Closet World will not provide an amended charge for services rendered in writing. Closet World does not take my calls. 9. The matter is being taken up through legal channels. I hate those cabinets.

I regret trying to "save a buck" because in the long run, I got what I paid for--cheesy, cheap cabinets and shelves--and installers that don't really have a high skill level. I did complain to the person at the Hayward office and he tried to have the problems "fixed" but the installer did exactly what I asked him to do and no more. You would think they would stand back and look at what they did but they only fix something if it is pointed out to them. They're nice guys...but they're truly not in what I would call a professional category. As mentioned above, the salesperson washed her hands of the entire situation after she sold the job. I think the sales people should have to visit the job AFTER the installation so they know what their installers are actually capable of. I should have guessed things would be imprecise because her drawings were very imprecise. They have a slick book you can look at but don't count on your job looking like one in the book. In the past, I have used California Closet and there is no comparison between the two companies. The California Closet people--from salespeople to installers really know what they're doing. Closet World has oversold themselves with a 40% discount coupon in the newspaper--so they're spread thin and the result is a cheap product for a cheap price. I wished I had spent the extra money and gone with California Closet. If you're thinking of Closet World, look at YELP too. I wish I had looked before I signed on the dotted line.
Description of Work: I had a cabinet built in a 1/2 bath, a cabinet installed over my washer and dryer, and a closet turned into a pantry. The salesperson was good in establishing a relationship; however, after the job when I wanted to tell her about problems with the installation, she danced away from the whole situation. The quality of the cabinets is poor--very cheap looking. And the installation is very, very poor--ill-fitting cabinets, no caulking originally, cracks, nail holes, chipped shelf, imprecisely removed base board...and on and on. I had to revise the design for the pantry because the salesperson didn't suggest the shelves be less deep in the front than in the back of the closet. It seems to me that would have been something she would have be sensitive to but she wasn't.

The first installation attempt was performed in early June. Some of the components were incorrect (size of one of the office closet components) and the new installation was scheduled for later in June. In the mean time, we have realized that the drawer lock which was ordered was not installed. During the second installation attempt, the doors of wrong size were delivered and the workers realized that drawer rails were incorrect and reported on that, and scheduled the third installation for a few days later to repair the drawers. However, different technician was sent and they did not have the information on the rails. This technician realized a different problem with the locks and had to reschedule and also ordered cleaning and hole caps, and rescheduled the fourth appointment. In the mean time, the information on the rails and hole caps was lost and the fifth appointment was scheduled. After taking the fifth half-day off, I realized that this appointment was never entered into the system. Rescheduled the sixth appointment as of now. I would like to point out apparent complete miscommunication between the technicians and managers costing us a lot of lost time and frustration.
Description of Work: We have ordered a custom office closet in early May. It included the designer visit which then moved the design to the installation department with whom we have been dealing with ever since.
