The first technician took out the dead bug, and had the AC running again. He did not check for cold air, he pretty much went to his van to write up the invoice. I had to run to the van and told him that the main problem was because there was no cold air coming out of the AC. He then came in, tested the vents, and confirmed that there was no cold air. He then put a little bit of refrigerant in and said that he ran out. He told us that he would have to ask someone else to come out the next day to fill it up. On 2nd day, the technician came out, went to the attic to determine the air flow, then reversed the vents in each room. He then went to the AC unit, put in 2lbs of refrigerant then found out that there's a restrictor that restricts the refrigerant to the house. In the end, the problem was not fixed, and we ended up paying $300 and we still don't have cold air for the house. Lastly, at no time that we were told the cost of the refrigerant ($89/lb) but were told that we'd need 9 - 10 lbs. We had to ask for the price.94578

They came out for a service call on my furnace that was not working and the technician said that it was a bad circuit board but the furnace was nearly 20 years old and recommended that we replace it. After a lot of back and forth, I decided to replace the circuit board and the service technician said that they would credit me back the full amount if I decided to replace the furnace. A day later I decided to replace the furnace and schedule time for them to come out and replace the furnace. The person installing the furnace told me that he would only credit me a portion of the new circuit board which I argued that the other person said I could get full credit and he said that sorry he shouldn't have told me that. I was contemplating saying forget it and going with a different company but he was going to at least give me a portion of the credit so I decided to go with them anyway. Other than the annoyance of not receiving full credit, they replaced the furnace and everything is working well. As an update, they have been calling me to do a quality check on the furnace which is really nice so I decided to give them another chance to do the quality check as well as look at our AC unit that was not working. So I called on a Saturday and scheduled an appointment. I didn't receive a confirmation call so I called on the day of my appointment and they had no record of me scheduling the appointment. That is 2 times they have disappointed me and I will be using a different contractor.

Some confusion about recommendations, but some value as well.

ABC Cooling and Heating was fantastic We, my wife and I, had been concerned that someone would come out to our house and try to sell us a whole new air conditioning system or some other related product that we didn't need. But our concerns were unwarranted. ABC's service technician, Bruce, was very professional, thorough, competent, and most of all honest. He answered all of our many questions in a friendly manner. He tracked down the problem quickly and didn't once try to up sell us on anything. Our experience with ABC Cooling and Heating was nothing like the horrible experience we had with another Air Conditioning company when we first moved into our home. Based on our experience, we would recommend ABC Cooling and Heating to our family and friends.

Went fine except that the technician did not carry new filters for the furnace so we had to go get them and replace them ourselves.

ABC Cooling Heating Plumbing provided excellent service from initial call to completing installation of a new water heater. Same day service was provided, which was a great relief. Customer representative indicated that full diagnosis of my old water heater would be performed since not all water leaks are indicative of automatic replacement. Technician arrived within 1 hour of my call and eventually showed me that the old water heater had to be replaced. I was pleasantly surprised that the technician did not charge me for a drip pan ($70) that he included as part of the installation. I thank him and ABC Cooling Heating Plumbing for their prompt and professional service and therefore, highly recommend this company for anyone having water heater issues.

They were professional and gave good customer service. The guys that came out were on time and it took them about 4 days to do it. They were very dependable. The price was comparable. I will be calling them back for something else.

They have a very special employee in Robert. I made an appointment to have a Furnace inspected before I sign a lease because the Property Manager insisted that it was brand new in perfect condition. However, when Robert came to inspect the Furnace we found out that it kept shutting down repeatedly because of the limited number of air ducts the contractor built. He was very knowledgeable with the entire system and easily shut down the arguments by the shady Property manager. Basically, the original contractor installed a 66k BTU furnace with just 4 air ducts, so it kept over-heating and would shut down automatically after 5 mins. He demonstrated multiple times to the Property Manager that there is a problem with the furnace and she said she would follow up with the original contractor. A few days later, the Property Manager calls me to complain about how terrible ABC cooling is because the furnace actually works when you replace the filter? So I call back ABC cooling to see if the excuses by the Property Mgr could be true and Robert was SUPER HONEST about his work and apologized for not checking to see if that "might" be a possibility? Even as rare as that could've been, he volunteered to come back again "FREE OF CHARGE" to check and make sure. I NEVER doubted ABC cooling and was skeptical with the Property Mgr's excuse but nevertheless Robert came to inspect the Furnace again, with/without the filter but it made absolutely no difference! Wow, in a day where many people lie about their work, Robert had no problem coming in to re-check the inspection he already did to make sure his clients were completely satisfied. I will no doubt hire these guys again and recommend them to everyone I know. They saved me a lot of money because had I just accepted the lies by the Property Manager, I would've signed a lease and found out that I have to replace the furnace for $2.5k+! Thank you to ABC Cooling and specifically Robert who was absolutely a 1st class technician! Amazing service.

It went very well. The technician was punctual, curteous, and knowledgeable. We had ABC come out to clean and tune-up our furnace. He replaced the electrostatic filter and vacuumed in and around the furnace. He also checked all the components to ensure proper functioning. The company offers a yearly tune-up service and we signed up and paid in advance for next-years tuneup. The cost was the same, so their was no discount for signing up ahead. The positive is that I don't have to remember to make an appointment and they will contact us next year.

I purchased the big deal. They gave me some very helpful advice. I'm sort of a do it yourself person so with the advice they gave me I could do it myself, about sealing my vent. Anyways I didn't choose to spend the money to do the things they recommended otherwise. The coupon was a good deal. The inventory itself was I think well done but their plan after their inventory I did not like. They were great and very responsive but a little expensive.

Very friendly and informative from the first appointment throughout the entire process. Appreciated the personal contact and explanation of the process as well as expertise about safety and efficiency of our home. Jeff Cecchin helped us through each step and was easy to work with- he was always responsive to calls and questions.

They are on time and courteous. They do what they are supposed to do. It doesn’t look that they are trying to up sell me anything.

My furnace stopped working around 11:00pm on a cold Saturday night (February 1st). A little after midnight, I left a message with ABC Cooling & Heating requesting someone to come out to check out my furnace. I received a call back around 7:00am in the morning (Super Bowl Sunday) and was told they would find a way to get someone out to see me that day. Before noon, a technician arrived, diagnosed the problem, replaced the ignitor and had my furnace up and running in less than an hour. It has been a month now, and everything is running smoothly. This was a very good experience for me (and the 10% discount was a nice adder).

I worked with Jeff on the pricing and details. He is friendly, good, was prompt and explained the work in detail. He came to discuss couple of times in person before work started. Jeff also came by to see the progress after the work started. Tony and Amitesh did the actual work putting the new ducting/water heater. I was very impressed with their work..detail oriented....provided honest options/opinion. They both take pride in their work to perfect it. They are the best and I would request for Tony/Amitesh for future projects. Jeff, Tony and Amitiesh..thx guys!

Their estimates were in keeping with the others we received. They did a good job with the installation. They are part of the energy upgrade california program, so the whole process takes a little longer, but you may get a rebate in return for the patience and effort required.

They didn't follow up. They were pretty much on time and able to give us a detail estimate of what would be done. They were very courteous, told us what would be done and how much time it would take to do the entire installation.

Ultimately, I think it wasn’t worth the money. The report was obscure and they never explained what it meant. The more I researched it, I also came to question their methodology, too. They never actually followed up with me so I got the services done with someone else with better customer service.

I had three visits from this provider. Two for a wall furnace and one for plumming.|Regarding the wall furnace: they charge $59 for the visit. I was quoted almost $700 just to change the valve. I decided not to do it. I also had a technician to come for a quote for a new wall furnace. I was quoted about $1700. Both time, they called in advance; they were very polite and respectful of my decision.|ThenI also called them for the plumbing problem, after I had a terrible experience with another provider and voila! it was fixed. That was $125.00. The assistant answering the phone was also pleasant.

The job was done quickly and I was very satisfied with their work. I would call them again.

Sales (Bill) - The company did a good job of assessing my needs and quoting me accordingly. I wanted a modern high efficiency furnace that was appropriately sized for my needs and that is what I got. They did not try to sell me expensive options that had very low return on investment, and they did not oversize the furnace. PG&E rebate program - I choose the company because of their ties with the PG&E rebate program. This required an energy audit, which was done professionally and with a detailed well documented report. Their recommendations included items that ABC was paid to fix and well as items that I could take care of on my own. The documentation provided in the report (before and after blower door test and duct testing) qualified me for a $2500 rebate. ABC took care of the PG&E documentation so I got my rebate. Installation - The installation took two days. Work was done professionally and in a timely fashion. The installers stayed late on the second day so that they finished the installation within the required window. A subcontractor (asbestos abatement) had made a mistake so ABC had to cut an extra vent hole - they took care of dealing with the subcontractor so that there was no additional charge to me. Permit - ABC took care of obtaining the permit, but I worked with the city to arrange the inspection. The city required more than the usual amount of paperwork for duct testing, but ABC worked with me to get the extra documents required by the city. Service - I signed up for a three year service contract. I will provide updates on their service later.

I don’t know how the company is but I didn’t like the guy that was out at the house. He said that some kind of switch should be replaced but I have done anything about it. I didn’t even invite him back into the house. He was kind of pushy and I had to stand by the air conditioner because I was afraid to leave him alone with it. If it wasn’t for the package, it would have cost me another twenty-five or thirty percent over what he was going to charge me. In order to get a reduced price for the coolant, I had to take their extended package for the heater and air conditioner. I really didn’t want that but I took it just to save money on getting the coolant for my air conditioner. All he did was put in the coolant and tell me the switch was bad which he tried to get me to buy, I could have just bought it and put it in myself for $40 or $50. Then he was looking at my furnace and told me that I needed to replace some parts in my furnace. I have had the house for over twenty years and the furnace has always worked fine. I wasn’t too pleased with scheduling an appointment either because they rescheduled it but he was there fairly on time.

A home inspection flagged that our furnace pan was rusted and there may be a leak. I contact ABC furnace and they were able to send a diagnostic technician out the next day for a $60 fee (which was 1/2 the cost of some other companies and significantly faster). The technician was on time, called when he was on his way (they give a 4 hour window) and was very professional and friendly. However, I was told that our pan was cracked and would need to be replaced along with the coil and that we should also get a sensor. I asked if we could only get the pan and sensor since we didn't need the new coil and he had to check. He called back the next day stating that they could just do the pan and sensor and it would be approximately $1400 or $1900 if we did the coil too. I had my trusty handyman check the pan and he said he did not see any cracks and would be really surprised as the pans are incredibly sturdy. I then paid $120 for a second company to come out to do a diagnosis. The technican also flushed the system as part of the diagnostic fee. This other company (which actually has even more positive reviews than ABC) found no such crack and simply recommended a sensor for $133. I'm wondering if many people go with ABC due to the cheaper diagnostic fee but then end up paying way more money for services and parts they don't actually need because they don't want to pay a second diagnostic fee for a 2nd opinion? Anyways, proceed with caution and get a second opinion. It is possible the ABC technician honestly thought he saw a crack, but it is 2 against one (plus a major savings).
