Heater at my 85 year old mothers house went out right before Thanksgiving, I used Angies list to call ABC they sent someone to her house within hours of calling. Naturally, there were multiple problems with the old (25-30 yr old heater), we were given an estimate that included extra labor for having to remove and replace the water heater too since the closet both were in was a tight fit. This was the eve of Thanksgiving..they, happily, scheduled the work for the day after Thanksgiving which we were grateful they could do that that quickly, they were prompt, courteous and professional and didn't have to move the water heater after all and removed the extra labor charge. It was somewhat difficult because of the location of the heater. There was a hose that wasn't tightened completely and a little water leaked but they quickly returned to inspect and fix the problem.

It went fine. He came out and gave me an AL discount, which I did have to mention. He diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate. He gave me the model number for the part and allowed me to obtain the part myself, which I was able to obtain the part and complete the repair myself for a lot less, which I appreciated.

They were really professional. They do great work.

They were responsive. They were responsible for work. I would use them in the future.

This is the first time that I have used Angie's list so I was cautious. I made the call the person that answered the telephone was prompt and pleasant. I was given a two hour window and the person called before they arrived and they arrived within that two hour windows. The service person was concerned about possibly tracking dirt into the house, so they put on covers for his shoes. The service was performed promptly and I was pleased with the service and the price.

I had them come to clean the ducts because we had a bad smell coming out of the ventilation for our AC. They found out that there was leaking sewage from a pipe under our house. ABC really took care of us, as they found and hired all the necessary contractors to clean the sewage underneath the house and to fix the pipes. They were life-savers because I would have no idea how to handle our situation, and they handled everything for us in referring us to the right people.

They did a good job the service men that came out identified the problem and got it fixed.

Through an offer from Angie's List, I contacted ABC Cooling and Heating to perform a full house energy audit. From the get-go, everyone I spoke with and meet from ABC was thoroughly professional and personable. The house audit was literally a blast, what with the big false door whose middle is a huge fan being mounted on our door frame and blowing the air out of the house. The audit was quite complex, with exploration of the crawl space, attic, ductwork, etc. My favorite diagnostic tool was the handheld device showing the "red hot" areas of heat loss. Then the hard-bound report compiled by ABC noted all areas that could be improved, with several options given for our perusal. We also came to find out that through both national and local programs, we were eligible for energy rebates, making the final cost to us quite attractive. So, the time finally comes for the work to begin. David, Tony, and Allen were the best! This crew worked for 4 sweltering days on this project. We live on the CA coastside and do not need AC. Unfortunately for them, we had a heat wave that week! These men were so professional, respectful, polite, clean, and extremely quiet. I never even heard them remove the ductwork from our attic. They always made sure to put on the surgical booties when walking through the house! All along the way, they answered any questions and took the time to explain the workings of the furnace and its features, especially the need for a small outside drain that removed any condensation in the system. We worked with brothers Mike and Jeff Cecchin for all the initial proposed package and Mike was always speedy in all email replies. Jeff was overjoyed that our project would be of low-cost to us, again due to all the rebates. And he created several different options for the project, again with full explanation along the way. This was a project that was sheer pleasure from start to finish. We definitely can notice the improvement to our house - it is warm and cosy and the system is whisper-quiet. ABC Cooling and Heating really knows their business and they also understand the importance of customer service. Thanks to everyone at ABC.

My central heating furnace ceased delivering heat on the night of 01/02/12. After searching Angie's List I e-mailed three contractors on the morning of 01/03/12. ABC Cooling & Heating responded within three hours and set up an appointment time for the afternoon of 01/03/12. The technician diagnosed the problem as a defective ignition module and replaced it at a cost of $475.00.

Never had work performed as they couldn't complete the simple task of calling me back. Other bids came in at $10k, so I guess it's their loss.

ABC was prompt in responding to my call today. I am very pleased. I called and the dispatcher had the man in the field call, and who did so within 5 minutes. Ben had appointments all over the East Bay but was at my house in just shy of 3 hours. The wall heater problem turned out to be a very simple fix, I am too embarrassed to say how easy it was... but he checked everything out and was very professional, and extremely nice. I am so relieved! A kind service man!!!! And a great price!!!!! Right away. I could not have asked for more.

We definitely needed a duct cleaning after we replaced our floor with a new hardwood floor, complete with sanding and finishing, plus, the ducts had never been cleaned before (the home is 37 years old). Scheduling the appointment went fairly smoothly, though they did have to call me once to reschedule from the original appointment day to the following day. I asked them to give me a 1 hour notice on the appointment day as a courtesy, as it would give me enough time to come home from work for the appointment. On the appointed day, they arrived in the middle of their 12-4p window. While they had forgotten to call me ahead of time, they were willing to wait until I arrived home from work, which I did about 30 minutes after I received the call at work. The technician was very professional, pleasant, and efficient, and completed the work in about 1 hour 20 minutes. The price was as quoted over the phone, and before he left, I ran the furnace and found that the air was much cleaner than before. He reported that he had removed a substantial amount of dust, which was most likely from our flooring project earlier. We are highly satisfied with the service, felt that the price was competitive, and are considering recommending them to our parents, who also live in the area.

On time, less expensive than quoted. Did a real good job of cleaning.

They provided good services. They were very friendly people. We were comforted to know that they do background criminal checks on all their people that come into the house. The sales representative that came to do the quote was very friendly and was able to give me a quote the same day. He talked to us about the different types of furnaces. We did a competitive bid against them and some other people and we ended up deciding that they were the right fit. We think we would hire them again.

I want to thank Angies list, first because we got the names of all the companies that we asked for bids from Angies List. We chose ABC because they were prompt, gave the bid on the spot, we had to have asbestos removed and instead of guessing that amount from another company, Jeff called the company and got an exact price right then. Their bid spelled out exactly what they were going to do. It was not a list of things then a dollar amount and nothing was added to the bid that was not talked about. I was able to schedule the exact date for my work. I did set it up almost a month ahead of time. Allen and his team came promptly on the date agreed upon. Allen was a great point person and team leader. He walked me through exactly what was going to happen when, for example when he had to test the electrical he asked if I had any computers on and advised that I should shut them down. He asked where we wanted the registers and put them where we indicated. He was very polite and called in more people as the job became more challenging. Jeff had told me that the job could take two to three days. It took two, but after the first day, you would never know they were there because they cleaned up so well. Jeff came in near the end of the first day to help me with the tax credit and PG& E rebate papers. Allen went over the whole system, walked me through it, including maintenance. I would highly recommend this company. It wasn't an easy job, my house is 60 years old with a low roof, and this was during a heat wave. These guys were great. Again, Angies list-thanks for the great experience!

Changed air filter (I had one). Opened furnace panels and checked visually. Checked for gas leaks in gas pipe. Operated furnace and checked for proper operation. Connected pressure gauge to outdoor part of air conditioning to check refrigerant pressure. Connected electrical meters and checked voltage and current. He carefully explained what he was doing and the results. Knowledgeable and professional, would recommend.

The entire thing with the installation and the furnace was $9000, but I got a $3000 rebate. The price was good because I can't imagine if anybody else could have done anything cheaper for me. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Everything went like clock-work. The technician was excellent, gave me lots of advice, answered my questions, and did a thorough job in checking out the system. Really an enjoyable experience.

Jeff Cecchin came out to our home and gave us the options for replacing our old furnace. He was very helpful in not trying to oversell any product and getting us just what we needed for our house. Once the papers were signed, the job was scheduled prompty and the old furnace was removed and the new one was installed without the need to relocate it. The job was done in a neat and timely manner. Jeff supplied all the paperwork and links necessary for the tax refund and rebates for the new heater. We were very pleased with ABC Cooling & Heating and would use them again. We would highly recommend them to others.

After a few false starts on the appointment time, the technician came out right on time and did a very thorough job of cleaning air ducts. He took a little over an hour to clean both the air ducts and the dryer vent. He was professional and cleaned up after himself. I would definitely use again.

Of the 3 HVAC companies that visited our house to quote for installation of a high efficiency furnace, the ABC salesman (Jeff Cecchin) was the only one who knew that a duct leak test was mandatory for newly installed furnaces as of Jan 1 2010 under Title 24 Part 6 in order to pass inspection. Jeff quickly determined that this would mean installation of new return ducts to replace the space between floor and ceiling used as a ?duct? in our 25 yr old house. He personally inspected the supply ducts in our attic and found a large leak which was fixed during the installation. We used the occasion to install 2 returns in the upper floor where there had been none before. The installers were very experienced and did excellent neat work which easily passed the leak test. One worker, Rob, stayed until 8.00 pm to finish the job on time. Unfortunately, local code dictated a metal return duct in the garage that acted as an echo chamber for furnace sound which was very loud inside the house. After attempts to reduce sound by turning down blower speed failed to reduce internal noise, ABC returned and replaced the garage duct with a double duct (insulated duct inside metal duct) and a sound box that solved the problem. ABC did not charge for this work which took two installers ~ 6 hours. They certainly lived up to their guarantee of complete customer satisfaction and I would recommend them without reservation to anyone..

Furnaced died over the weekend. ABC came out on Monday to give me an estimate and had it installed by Thursday (they reshuffled schedules to try and get heat restored to my home). Responsive, good installation team, very clean/professional work.

I spent about $4,700 and I thought it was a good price. My interaction with them was excellent. They were prompt, gave me a good estimate and held true to the estimate. They were very detailed oriented and made sure I filled all the forms I needed to file for the federal and state rebated. They did clean work and were very professional.

It was a good price but it was expensive. We got quotes from quite a few people. They gave us a high end product, which is what we wanted. They provided very good service. Their customer service was really good and we didn't have any problems.
