We're still deciding if we are going to use ABC Cooling & Heating for the work.

I was told by an electrician that I had a dangerous situation with my furnace which needed to get fixed right away. I called ABC and they came right away. After inspecting the furnace ABC determined I did not have a dangerous situation at all. Since the electrician had offered to fix the problem (even though he was not a furnace guy) ABC guessed he used a scare tactic to get the job. ABC could have 'confirmed' the electrician's findings but they were honest which I appreciated. Since I hadn't cleaned the furnace in 10 years ABC did a thorough cleaning, changed the filter, and then came back another day to clean the heating ducks. Boy, everything was incredibly dirty and they spent a lot of time cleaning it up. The only thing I did not like was that ABC seemed to do a little up sell. The duck guy shined his flashlight way into the dark recesses of my crawl space onto a little white area on one of the ducks. He said it could be asbestos (my house was built in 1921) and recommended I change all the ducks. After the visits they tried to convince me to replace both the furnace and the ducks with multiple phone calls. Since the furnace and ducks seem to be working property I don't believe there is any reason to invest in this costly endeavor. However, since ABC proved to be honest during their visit maybe they didn't up sell and in fact, truly believed a replacement was worth doing.

I was very impressed. I called this morning to schedule a service visit, and the dispatcher said she could have someone at my house before noon! I received a call when the serviceman was on his way, so I knew when he would be arriving. He was courteous, professional, and checked everything out. He even took a look at my water heater as part of the package to see if it needed any service (it didn't). I would definitely use them again!

First they sent a young man who did not seam to know what he was doing the duck and registers connections had to be redone they would not past city inspection or the company's final inspection several time. After my complaints (three times) they sent an experience person out who re did the job and it was find, it pasted the inspections However it took 4 months to complete the job, it should have taken a week per their projection. Finally the work was done properly and I will use them again.

I happy to report I was treated respectfully and honestly by my ABC technician. With my husband out of town, other contractors would have potentially lied or tried to pressure me into expensive repairs or contracts but the ABC technician was prompt, honest and very efficient. My compressor's fuse simply had gotten loose and needed to be snapped back into place and no expensive repairs were needed. I will only go to ABC in a couple years when both of my AC units need to be replaced. A joy to work with after bad experiences with other big name heating cooling companies in the past. Great work ABC!!!

I am trying to get estimates to do some repair on the exhaust ducts of our (1940s era) gas furnace and gas water heater. This company charges $95 just to come inspect and make an estimate. This makes trying to find the best vendor impractical -- you've already spent $95 before you even find out what their charge will be. I suppose they have their reasons for this and don't want to do a lot of quoting that doesn't result in work; evidently business must be good. But this is not okay with me.

It was easy to schedule the appointment. Ben arrived exactly on-time. He was friendly and very efficient in checking for the root cause. He could have easily fooled me into spending money I didn't need to but told me what I needed was to call an electrician. Ben even removed my dirty filter for me and wrote down the replacement size I needed. I had my Angie's list coupon but he said that the deal on their website would give me more off so I ended up paying less than I thought I would need to for the service call!

Overall very pleased. Only issue which is minor, would be the four hour service window they provide, which means it eats up half my day waiting foe them

They were on time and prompt. They have been working hard. They have covered everything that I have asked.

Mike came out on time to explain our options and give a bid. He was very friendly and helpful. He told us that the duct work in the utility area would be ugly which didn't concern us. But it turned out to be not just ugly, but required that we duck when going downstairs and blocked a door from opening fully. This was very unprofessional. When I called later to complain, they fell all over themselves to try to make it right and we were fairly satisfied with the results. But I felt it should have been done right the first time. Secondly, a major reason for getting a new furnace was to filter the air in hopes of helping our baby's severe eczema which is caused by an allergy to something in the house. We ordered a HEPA filter and a thermostat with a fan switch so the fan could be left on all the time to filter the air. The installer put in a regular thermostat without a fan switch. It took 2 calls and several days for them to finally change out the thermostat. Thirdly, when they reworked the ducting, they accidentally knocked against a water spigot in the furnace room and several days later we noticed major flooding of the basement where many boxes of materials were stored. We had to call a water damage specialist at a cost of over $2000 to clear the basement, pump out the water, and place dryers there for several days. The water caused a lot of damage. Neither we nor the installer noticed at the time that the spigot had been opened slightly, so I don't know if we can really blame ABC, but I wanted to note that this happened. In spite of all this we still give them a C rating as the furnace and ducting are working well now.

We were very happy with the installation. The technicians from A B C Cooling came when they said they would, did not make a mess and cleaned up at the end of each day. The whole installation took three days. one day taking out all the old ducting, one day installing the new, including a redesign of the plenum system and increasing the size of a couple of floor register boxes, and the third for the installation of the new furnace. They conducted duct leak tests before and after the installation, and showed us that the duct leakage was down from over 20% to below 2%. We would not hesiate to use them again.

Submitted bid for comparison and was not the cheapest but the most knowlegable. Did removal and installation of new tankless water heater as well as remove and install new furnace in new location (attic).

They were very good. The quality of the work was great. We were very pleased with them overall.

Reached out to the three most highly rated AC contractors on Angie's List for the Palo Alto area to get an AC system installed in our new house (built 2012). Because of the very high ceilings throughout, extremely limited attic space, complex roof layout, and a surplus of tight spaces and dense insulation, this was a very difficult job. So difficult, in fact, that one contractor couldn't come up with a workable solution at all, and one other suggested a system relying on external ducting that would have obscured the majority of the skylights we have running along the length of the house. ABC was the exception. From the beginning, they showed themselves to be thoughtful, creative, attentive, detail-oriented, and very responsive over email. The sales rep who showed up met every milestone on time, from sending concept drawings, to seeking input from his installers, to coordinating for a permit with the city. At one point we reached a technical impasse with combining our radiant heat with forced air cooling under the control of one thermostat. Rather than giving up, ABC called me, brainstormed with me, and then we came up with a solution together. In the end, ABC was able to devise a beautiful, functional solution that frankly would have stumped anyone else who looked at our house. We settled on a start date, and despite some last minute curveballs from the city, ABC was able to get the required permits and start the job on time. On the day of, the supervisor and the installers walked my wife and me through every detail again. Every cut to be made, every duct to be installed, every pipe to attach. When everyone was happy, the job began. And what ensued was the most fantastic experience I've ever had with a contractor of any type. Relentlessly punctual, responsible, respectful, detail-oriented...what else could you ask for? Not a single debatable decision was made without our full input. In terms of project management, ABC handled all of the other contractors involved on our behalf (roofing, electrical, etc.) and kept them in line despite multiple hang ups that would have stalled anyone else. And the best part? The installers were so clean - almost fastidious - that you would never even know they had been there at all when getting home at the end of the workday. And you couldn't have asked for a nicer, more responsible set of gentlemen running the show. I especially want to make sure that I call out the efforts of the installer, Stuart Bullis, and his partner Jacob. These guys did a better job with our system than we had dared hope, given the level of difficulty. Absolutely fantastic! In short, I couldn't have asked for a better experience with these guys. Best relationship I've ever had with a contractor. Just amazing all around!

They were quick and knew what they were doing. Their service was expensive; but you get what you pay for. They were on-time and were here when they said they would be. This company had a good crew that, obviously, had done it before. They did not have any problems accomplishing the job.

They did a good job. They did the job that I asked them to do and they answered all the questions. They did on the time that I expected. It was just that there was small things like that they didn't take out their shoes when they got in so the carpet got dirty while they were fixing the furnace. Their price is reasonable.

The technician was good and professional.

I was confused about their pricing. They have a deal where they come back out and check. It took them a week to get the part. I felt that they should've explained the pricing better because I didn't understand it. They need to clarify that before an appointment is scheduled. They did get the part and got my furnace working though. The service guy was very nice.

We did not go with them in the end because their prices were a little bit too high. They were quoting us about $9000 just for the furnace, which was quite high.

They were very nice. The problem turned out to be a fuse issue. The contractor was very professional, and what I actually paid for was the trip out and the fuse. He was highly recommended, and he did a great job. He even left me with the old fuse and suggested taking it to the hardware store to replace it.

Initially I contacted ABC to repair a faulty furnance on a weekend in the winter of 2012. They were one of a very few companies who offer service on the weekend. They responded within an hour. A blower motor was found defective. Unfortunately, it had to be ordered, which took over a week. The new blower was installed succesfully. The technician suggested we get a quote for a new furnance, which we did, since it was about 15 years old. We had a new furnance and central air conditioner installed in March 2012. The installation took almost 2 full days but without any issues. Technicians were professional and well trained. The installation was inspected by a City of San Jose building inspector. He mentioned that he was familiar with ABC's work and didn't expect any issues based upon his experience with the company. He found no issues and passed the installation. It has been working fine for amost one year.
