They were prompt at returning my call and setting up the estimate (mid-November). I was not charged for the estimate. Michael arrived on time. The entire electrical system replaced in the house later that month, so Michael suggested we wait until that was completed to replace the furnace. He did a good job of explaining everything and what different options would cost. He was very knowledgeable and the price was about what I expected. We thought about keeping the duct work, but he noted how much it was leaking and that patching the leaks would be almost as expensive to patch it than to just replace it all. Besides the original duct work was installed in a weird configuration with some of the lines not using the natural bays in the basement ceiling. He did notice the boots for the vents were in good condition and thankfully didn't contain asbestos, so he said those could be preserved and save me a few bucks. We scheduled for December 11th. Ernie and I wish I remembered the other guy's name arrived right on time. They got to work right away and were super friendly. The job was supposed to take three days, but they finished in two and did a great job. There are seven vents in my house and they rerouted the duct work for some of them when they replaced it, so it freed up ceiling space in the basement. The furnace works great and I'm very happy with the service I received. They hauled away all of the debris and leftover materials when they were done. They completed the permit and the inspection. No hassles for me with the process and work quality. The estimate was right on with the actual final cost. I plan on using them when my furnace needs its regular service. I highly recommend them.

They never bothered to respond to my request for contact/survey at the offered price.

It took the technition 15 or 20 minutes to get the pilot lit. It turned out there was air in the gas line. There was a $59 charge for coming out, but then there was an additional $57 for diagnosing and lighting the pilot.

I was called back within an hour on a SUNDAY- the technician arrived and replaced a cracked ignitor-(sp) . We were SO impressed we will use them in the future and recommend them if asked. Excellent-especially since most people in this profession are CLOSED on weekends!

The service turned out really well. They were professional and did a great job. They were always available when I needed them. I had called other companies and got quotes that were lower but they did a great job with the installation. I would suggest checking into competitors pricing.

They were helpful every step of the way making it clear as to what they were going to do, and what I needed to do on my end. I thought they were great!

Bill from ABC called ahead and arrived right on time. We spent over an hour discussing the following details: Why replace vs use existing. Furnace and AC efficiency. Equipment and manufacturers Installation procedure and time frames. Cost and financing. Warranty and repairs. He did several walk-through of the house and took many measurements to ensure that the proposed equipment would fit and meet the needs of the household. Bill provided a detailed breakdown of the quote and financing options. It was a pleasure consulting with him after having dealt with a couple of other marketing reps from other companies. We did decide to put away the replacement of AC and furnace for a few months, but when we are ready, ABC is the place to go and Bill is the guy to contact.

Even though other companies, including the one I have used for years, were too busy to respond, ABC Cooling and Heating scheduled a same-day after-hours visit. They offer up to $500 credit for a replacement, so I scheduled a visit. The estimator was on time and professional, gave me a lot of information, and did not pressure me to buy a new furnace. I decided to stay with the old one for now, but when it's time for a new one I will definitely call these guys!

Overnight the heater stopped heating. I checked Angie's list and settled on ABC, partly of course because of the spectacular reviews, but also because they were open on Saturdays. I called and talked to Sue, who was both friendly and efficient, and thought she could find a way to squeeze in a tech visit between 8 and noon (it was already 8:30 by this point so that pretty much constituted "right away", which amazed me. About an hour later Sue called back and said Michael was in Palo Alto and would be there soon. He arrived shortly after. Michael is a very nice and competent heater technician. We looked at the heater (a 20-year-old Rheem 80+ (the efficiency rating). The fan was running but the burners were off (the gas water heater next to it was running fine, so we knew it was not a gas problem). In the course of the inspection the burners suddenly came on. Michael ran some tests from the thermostat to verify that it was turning on and off properly. He pointed out that the heater was probably near end of useful life (I agree) and offered to have someone come out to give us some replacement options, and gave me some information on new heater efficiency (~98%). I said I would talk with my wife about it and Michael said that's fine and did not push further. My own conclusion is that the cold weather had, over a week or so, caused the fan cover plate to lose contact with the kill switch (not sure what it's actually called) and this is why when he inspected it, the switch was tripped and the heater came on. In any case, after verifying that all was well, Michael came inside and performed a CO test at a heater vent -- luckily it came back with good results. Then it was just the paperwork. All in all, and not just because I only had to pay the $59 diagnostic fee (which I find incredibly reasonable), it was a very pleasant experience. Would recommend to all. NOTE: I am writing this review very shortly after the service was performed, but Angie's List requires the service date to be in the past. Rather than waiting till tomorrow to submit it, I "back-dated" it to yesterday. However, the service really was performed today, Saturday, 12/15.

I would give them 5 A’s. Everything they said they were going to do they did. They put the new furnace in and if it needed adjustments they came out right away and fixed it. They gave me a fair price so I was very happy with them. I am having a colder winter so that was a smart move getting the heater. It has a good warranty. If I have their service policy they will insure everything on the furnace for 15 years and it will be no cost to me if anything goes wrong. I do have it serviced. They come out when they say they are going to come out at the time they are going to come out. They service it. The first year of service is free. What I like about it is the 15 years. If I keep the service policy and when they come out and check it, anything that goes wrong with it or if it needs a part, I don’t pay for it. They guarantee it for 15 years so I am happy with that. They will be out in May to check the air conditioning. I have them come out twice once for the furnace in the winter time and once for the air conditioning in the summer.

I'm very happy. I was happy to pay the cost for Angie's List for that alone. That was a great referral. I'm extremely happy. They were professional, they do what they say, and they understand the product and the quality. It's a company you seem to trust and the price seemed like it's reasonable based on our experience so far.

The experience has been excellent and outstanding. They were very professional. They were reasonably priced. It was about what I was expecting for a complete system replacement. I would absolutely use them again.

Met with ABC to go over estimates. Goal was to replace distintegrating heating ducts, but was prepared to replace furnace. Separate company and expense to remove duct boots due to asbestos. ABC listed as one of the companies to perform energy audits and file for state energy rebate ($500 per 5% improvement). Energy audit was $175, and interesting in itself. I think you can get a very basic energy audit for free, but this one involved pumping air through the heating ducts. Uneventful replacement of furnace and ducts. Workers were courteous and on-time. City inspector said he has inspected many homes, and ABC does consistently good work. Mine was in-line with his experience. Minor nit... permit paperwork did not list replacement of duct work. Had to be re-filed, and re-inspected. ABC threw in some addition work: replace gas line to water tank, cap gas outlet, install weather stripping. Much appreciated. Rebate arrived according to estimates.

The service went very well. They were professional and came out when they said they would. They had a reasonable approach to do things when I needed to have it done. I will consider using them.

Had to end up replacing HVAC, so got no benefit from the service. Not their fault but...

It was pretty good. They talked us into doing a lot of repairs but they were very professional and we're happy with the work.

Called them on Sunday of a long weekend at around 10 am and they gave me a window of 11-3pm on same day. I got a call around 11:45 am from tech stating they will be there by 12:30 and sure enough arrived at 12:20. Tech came out to diagnose (min charge $60). Figured out that it was a cracked ignitor. Showed me the crack and replaced on site for a total charge of $210.00 (after $25 discount for coupon from website). I looked around online for the same part and saw it for $150, so this was a very fair price in my opinion. Work took about 30 minutes total.

Went well. No probles. They were quick and efficent.

They are great. Their equipment is good, their service is good, and I have referred them to my niece to take care of her furnace too.

They were able to send someone over the next day to my rental property. After they inspected the A/C, I received a call to inform me that the freon was low and it would cost me about $400 to have it filled. The gentlemen also told me that he quickly checked the surrounding area and thought that the chances of leakage was low, although it would cost me extra if I want a full inspection. The person was very professional and finished the job quickly. About a year later, I asked them back to check the A/C because my tenant thought something was wrong with it again. They sent someone over and checked for free because it was within one year of the last service. They found out that there was nothing wrong with the A/C and taught the tenant to use the A/C properly. I highly recommend this company because I felt that they were honest and professional. I am not sure about the price because I have not obtained a quote from other providers.

I called because something was wrong with floor furnace. There was a $59 consultation fee. The service agent said one part had to be replaced for about $250. He had the part but couldn't fit in the crawl space. Since he had to come back there was going to be an additional $59 fee on top of the $50. They sent someone who could fit in the crawl space and replaced what was said needed to be replaced only to find that the gas valve needed to be replaced. Another $500. I'm told that this is often the case. I had it. If only they were straight about what was needed and the possible costs it would be O.K. but to have them keep coming up with something new- no. I finally spoke with the manager who credited me with the $59 fees and waived the $250 fee and promised I would have heat by the end of the day. But no- even the service agent said he had the part that was need he actually had a similar "generic" part. I didn't want a generic part I wanted the proper part for my furnace. He left and was able to get the proper part and after three days I have heat. Major abuse of my time and too much stress. Scott the manager was very helpful in getting everything done and I guess they are going to speak to their service agents to be more comprehensive when giving estimates. I believe they do quality work but I was the unlucky one to get them off their game.

They were very good and I would use them again with no hesitation. They went out of their way to check and see what was the problem. They went under my house, which is very small and replaced the duct. You just can't everything because it is under the house, but it seems everything has been working fine so I am assuming they did a very good job. I trust the guy that I talked to.
