The workers from Bay Area Home Improvement were really good. They came in under budget and time. They were really friendly. They were terrific about cleaning up. The little things went a long way. The work was excellent and they even gave me an upgrade. They were great. I really liked them and I have nothing but positive things to say about them.

An almost painless exercise. Robert (estimator) came out to measure for new windows and make recommendations. Since the two picture windows were closer than 18" from the floor, I had to have tempered glass for the bottom part. I wanted to completely reconfigure the windows, so Jeremy came out to look at the project and make his recommendations as well. I wanted as much uninterrupted picture window as possible so I could have a nice view of my garden, but also wanted ventilation and did not want to spend more money than I absolutely had to. They made the recommendation that I have sliders on the bottom 18" and that glass would be tempered. I didn't think they could do it all in one day, but they did. Paolo and his team were courteous and respectful, and cleaned up after themselves. The windows look fabulous and I have received many compliments. They also install roofs, paint and entrance doors. A family owned one stop shop that serves the whole Bay Area. The window caulking is starting to deteriorate. Also, I didn?t notice until a few weeks after they had installed the windows that both had been installed in the wrong order. Numerous follow-up calls went unanswered, and the customer service and follow-up are terrible.

I was pleased to use a local company for this work. I thought they were very competitive and professional. They did show up on time as well. There were two people doing the work. I was very satisfied with the quality of the windows and the installation.

I hired the company in September, and asked that the windows be replaced before end of October. The windows weren't completed until Thanksgiving. The workers were generally courteous. The garden window was manufactured incorrectly, so it had to be reordered. It took another two months for this be installed. One of the bedroom windows leaked quite a bit during the New Years storm. I called the sales person and was told that someone would be out immediately, but it took two weeks for a repair crew to come back. I had to ask for a written receipt at time of payment of each check. Providing written receipts does not seem to be standard business practice. I did receive a final accounting of all payment, but expect to also receive receipts each time I make a payment.

We were not pleased with Bay Area Home improvements, as the man who sold us the contract was just a good talker. The men who came to do the work were terrible and we fired them. It took them 4 months to do a 4-day job. We had to call them so many times to get them even to come to work. They were always coming late, at about noon they would show up, and they did not even know what they were doing. The sales man left them alone and none of them even had experience as, they were all learning at our expense. We had to constantly go over their work, and they made a huge mess everywhere. They worked and had no care for anything in their way, even my kid s toys. We had to go behind them and tell them to clean up their tools and mess. They broke 3 windows leaving the shattered glass lying around and we even found some in my child's bed. This company was terrible and we fired them, and finished the work ourselves. We paid them but knocked $900 dollars of the price.
