LOWE'S

I've used them before. That's why I called them. There was a little bit of confusion about the price. That had to do with the guy who came out to take the measurements and everything for the job. He didn't include everything in it. So, it ended up costing me more.

The contractors were good, but going through Lowe's was terrible. It was excuse after excuse, after excuse. It took months to accomplish what typically takes a couple weeks.

The store had an installer come to my home to measure. The installer made measurements. I went to the store to follow up on the estimate for the job and the representative told me that the installer was no longer working with Lowe's; and I agreed to have another installer make measurement. Another installer never called to measure my door. I called Lowe's several times and they promised to have someone call me to set up a time to measure, but still no one called.

Lowe's (with their subcontractor Add Insulation) has been ALL SALES and NO SERVICE from the beginning with this. I would NOT recommend that anyone employ them. The sales rep Robin, from the Northridge CA store, came to our house twice when we were shopping vendors. We signed the contract on a Saturday and they immediately took $3000 from our Visa. We were told, the installer will contact you on the next business day to schedule. But we didn't hear from that installer until the middle of the following week, after reminder messages. They eventually installed it. The work was adequate and the crew was professional. Sales rep Robin had told us, this will qualify for a utility rebate. I called DWP and was told, there's no such thing. I called Robin for info; she said, well one of our customers said there was a rebate. She had no info. I did the research and found out it was the Gas Co., so I followed their online procedure. We had never been given a final "paid" receipt from Lowe's, so I asked for one, and it was finally sent by mail, and then I submitted copies of that and the contract to the Gas Co. The rebate app was REJECTED. The Gas Co.'s response was, ?NOWHERE on the contract for sales receipt does it say WHERE the insulation was installed". WHICH WAS TRUE. I requested a revised sales receipt or explanatory memo. The Loew's sales rep referred us to a woman at the store, who refused, saying, ?My manager says we can't change it, we never have a problem with the gas company, it will be fine". Then after several additional notes by email I was told, ?the subcontractor (Add Insulation) will send you a document stating that it was attic insulation?. That vendor then sent me a document which did NOT include "attic"! Upon contacting them about this, they said, ?We can't change it, someone from Lowe's will send you a new memo." Which did not happen, until 2 days later, I finally called the assistant at Lowe's Northridge (again) ? I said, ?My wife and I are coming over to the store, can we meet with you please?? Then finally she sent the memo. This is all ABYSMAL customer service. It has been over two months since we signed a contract and we still aren't finished with this business. THUMBS DOWN from us.

I purchased a storm door and closet doors from them, which they installed. They did a very nice job. They also installed a new water heater for me that I bought from them and did a good job on that as well.
