I did not like the pressure I felt. I tried to get out of the contract, but they put additional pressure on me. They told me I would not be unable to void the contract (despite my request being within 24 hours) because of the discount I had received. I believe that had to do with a larger order they were filling. The company stated their lawyers would not allow them to cancel it. They did agreed to discount the rate further, but I was still far from happy. Their window product does seem good. They also agreed to come back out to my home to address some minor concerns. However, the company was far from professional. While they returned calls promptly, they took quite some time to come back out for follow up work. I would not consider working with them again.
Description of Work: They installed 2 large windows and 1 smaller.

When the doors came is when the problems started. My installer brought the doors and temporaily stored them in my garage, free from any weather. When my installer unvailed the doors, he was disappointed as they were not preassemble as ordered. Pacific was told about the unassembled doors and said they would come out to assemble the doors at my house. When he came to the house, he very well dress, too well dress to do any work, nor did he bring any tools to work with and he attitude was.... he didn't care at all. What he did do was give us some vague instructions then left. My installer was left to fend for himself and took an extra 8 hours to assemble and installed the doors himself. Now at first, the doors appeared to be fine but after two (2) days hung the wood on the doors began to split and crack and glue began to ooz from behind the wood panels. This was totally unacceptable. We immediately informed Pacific Doors. By this time my installer and I were throughly dissatisfied with Pacific and their product quality and especially their attitude. Pacifics reponse was that because we installed it exposed to exterior elements that, that was cause for rejection of the warranty or return for refund. So because their exterior doors could not handle exterior weather after only 2 days that was our fault. I don't think so. It was so obvious that the product quality was inferior. It looked like the wood that was used may not have been curred or it was just too green that it split. And the glue that held the wood slatts together was not appropriate for an exterior door. Very poor workmanship.
Description of Work: On August 30, 2010, I purchased what I thought was an exterior double door with accessories. The clerk on duty (Juan) at Pacific appeared to be knowledable and proceeded to tell me about the doors I was about to purchase. Since I'm a satisfied returning customer, everything seemed as it should be professional and fair dealing. I selected the doors and picked out a color and my installer provided Pacific with all the necessarry specifications to make the door. Juan did tell me that if the door received too much sun that it would eventually fade, but that it could be easily maintenanced, he recommended every two years and that Pacific Doors & Windows could provide that service. Delighted and feeling reassurred that again I was getting an outstanding product I proceeded to place my down payment of $1500 to order the doors. Juan told me the doors would take four weeks even though he told my installer 4 days. But thinking I was getting quality I was willing to overlook the miscommunication. On October 5th I was called that my doors were ready for pickup. I ask to see the doors but the clerk on duty was a lone woman and was not able to pull out the doors for my review . But she did lead me to a backroom and pointed to my doors that were wrapped and covered (consealing the fact they were not pre-assembled). She appologize that I couldn't see them in their entirity but she reassurred me if there was an issue they would gladly work it out. She also said any accessory not used I could return for refund. I told her within a day or two my installer would be by to pick up the doors. With that I then made my final payment of approxmiately $1000 and left.

Maybe I could have done this stuff myself, but it would have taken a couple days and a few trips to the hardware store. But time was of the essence, and Alfred was on the job the morning after I called him. The front double-doors were out of true and needed new weatherstripping, which he installed. I couldn't afford to replace our partially-rusted six-foot picture window, so he Bondo'd and epoxy'd the rusted window to keep the water out, and all is well. The security gate just keeps renters from prying into our deck furniture that we are storing under the house, and Alfred beautifully made it look like it was a structural part of the house. The deadbolt was dead-easy. All performed by Alfred and his sidekick in four hours. Awesome work. I will totally call them back when I am ready to do a larger project.
Description of Work: 1. Trued our front double-door, which wouldn't close properly. 2. Bondo our living room picture window, which had nearly rusted through. 3. Install security gate in crawlspace under house. 4. Install deadbolt lock in garage storage area.

The store offers a wide array of styles and designs. My door was a special order so it took a few weeks to arrive. They do carry in stock doors too. Their location is very close to my home so this was convenient. The installer was very flexible and talented. The company offers an honest approach to their way of business. My front door looks fantastic upon completion.
Description of Work: I had a 36 inch front door installed. It has a decorative glass piece in the door and a glass and side window as well. The company removed the old front door. They had to reframe the new door and replace the wood trim.
