It took them a little while for them to get the estimate back to me. So, I chose not to go with them. They are a local company in my community. The guy was knowledgeable. I will consider this company for a future quote.

Brian scoped out a full deck replacement for both my upper and lower decks, but I decided to just go with our upper rooftop deck and a bedroom balcony. He came out to my house and did a free estimate/inspection. He was really clear about what he would be doing and had a sixth sense about the state of my deck, just by looking at it. Brian provided a detailed estimate and scaled back the work to fit into my budget, including retrofitting the lower deck rather than replacing it. He was flexible about timing, fitting it into the schedule of my vacation rental, so we didn't lose any business. Brian was upfront about pricing and experienced in what it would require, material and time-wise. In the process of tearing off the balcony railing, he figured out that the decking and joists were rotten. He replaced them both for the cost of materials only, which was a huge relief for me. He did an awesome job in the construction. The balcony was rebuilt with outward facing joists and parallel decking, rather than the parallel joists from before that were not structurally sound. The railings look great and everything was built very solidly, with redwood instead of cheaper fir or PT, stainless screws and bolts and careful construction. He also was careful to clean up any extra nails or construction debris, and I had no complaints from neighbors or guests about anything relating the the deck. Brian was great to work with and I highly recommend him.

I have had this contractor take care of a lot of things for me and he is the best contractor that I have ever dealt with. This particular job was very tedious and labor intensive. I thought that Brian did a great job and he is very professional. The only thing that I might mention is that is he very busy, so sometimes it is hard to get a hold of him. I will most certainly call him in the future for anything I need fixed or repaired.
