His prices were ridiculous and I would never use him again. The reason why his pricing was so astronomical was that he was gonna go ahead and put in a shear wall behind the siding which wasn't necessary. He came when he said he was gonna come.

When the kitchen was redone, they set up a temporary kitchen for us which functioned extremely well. We fixed and ate most of our meals at home during the remodel. This project finished on time. They built the kitchen and powder room cabinets. The cabinetry is beautiful as is all of their work. They put in tile for the backsplash in the kitchen and powder room. We were so pleased with their work we continue to use and recommend them to others. They also co-ordinated work with our landscaping contractor since the back yard was being redone at the same time. In 2010 they designed the front porch based on our ideas of what we wanted. It is gorgeous and fits in architecturally very well. We have gotten many compliments on this porch. Again they co-ordinated with our landscaping contractor who was redoing the front yard. In 2011 they replaced the brick chimney with a non-brick chimney which is safer in the event of an earthquake. They suggested we install a gas insert into the fireplace (which we had not thought of) and we are so glad we did. They are very good at making suggestions of things that work well. We always carefully consider any suggestions they make. In 2012 we had a bad water leak into our living room from an upstairs bathroom. They recommended a plumber for us and repaired the ceiling. We also had them replace French doors and windows as part of this project. Everything went well and we are happy with the results. On this project they suggested some accent lighting on the cabinets around the fireplace. We agreed and are happy with the suggestion. On The Beam Remodeling does high quality work. They pay great attention to details. They set up a time schedule and keep going until the job is done. They take care not to damage the premises. They also clean up after themselves and they stand by their work. We trust them and their recommendations. I give this company an A+.

.The quality of the work was very high, particularly the custom made wood cabinetry. On the Beam finished on time and their work was within budget. The contractors also showed flexibility as they honored our cost-saving decisions (e.g. using tile instead of granite, keeping the bathroom's layout and several fixtures, such as the toilet and bath). They incorporated these decisions into their design. The resulting work is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

From the first day he set foot in our home, we have referred to Steve Schliff and the OTB team as our Contractors from Heaven! Proof positive: we have since hired them for several other projects, including extensive interior upgrades throughout our home. In the nearly 10 years we have been working with OTB, we've had nothing but excellent service, top-quality craftsmanship and respect for us and our home -- we have lived in our house during each remodeling project, and they made it as painless as possible. They did what they said, when they said the would do it, and when anything unexpected came up, as it does in remodeling, they communicated with us and worked it out to our complete satisfaction. When I called to get referrals for minor repairs several years after our bathroom remodel (e.g., cracking grout due to an earthquake) they insisted on taking care of it themselves to ensure it was done to their high standards. Because we weren't able to remodel our home fully upon move in, they have worked with us over the years to bring our vision for our home to reality. On our first job, we solicited competitive bids. On the Beam wasn't the least expensive -- though they were competitive -- but ,as a big believer in "you get what you pay for," we trusted our instincts and chose OTB. I rated their price excellent, because the quality was well worth the slightly higher price. We definitely made the right choice.
