The overall work yielded a vast improvement over the previous state of the home. Now that the work is completed I am finding that there were many shortcuts taken, in addition to many instances of shoddy workmanship. The overall crew assigned to complete the work were lazy and needed constant oversight to ensure work was actually being completed. The provider's attitude was less than stellar and projected a " I can't be bothered with you" sort of pretentiousness. After intially being quoted a timeline of 6-8 weeks start to finish, it turned out to be a year before all the work was finalized. The provider was not receptive to our needs and "talked the talk" but did not "walk the walk". I needed to have the county contractors association file a complaint on my behalf to the provider just to establish a verbal dialogue. Upon completion of the work much of the clean-up was left to me and my family as paint cans, tools, and demolished debris was left strewn through out the property and inside the home. Budgetary concerns of ours were not taken seriously and no attempt was made by the provider to ensure we did not exceed our budget. On several occasions follow-up work needed to be accomplished, indicating that the initial work was either not completed at all or not properly completed. Basically, things were not done correctly the first time and necessitated continual follow-up calls. The provider did not possess any accountability for any of the project and used/recommended below board sub contractors. One subcontractor actually got involved in altercation with another, leaving myself to mediate the situation. The counter top and cupboard sub contractor was extremely overpriced for the quality of work and timeline of which work was completed. The same can be said for the staining and painting contractor. After the flooring dispute was settled, the sub contractor (Shannon Stewart) that receives our highest praises was the flooring installer. His demeanor and work ethic were second-to-none, price of service and quality provided were both excellent. After a long year of constant battling with Lou and his foreman Brent of Freschi Construction, we are, for the most part pleased with the overall job, but wanted to give an open and honest critique. If you seek high quality workmanship at a fair price in Nevada County CA, please steer clear Freschi Construction.

Freschi Construction Inc did such a good job. He has big equipment. I called Lou Freschi and he came out the same day and gave me an estimate and he didn't try to up sell anything. He came down and within 2 or 3 days, I had a new drive way and he also banked it so the water didn't down and the job he did is beautiful. I would call him for something else in a heartbeat. His crew was wonderful and he has all the stuff and equipment required for the job. They engineered the driveway right there. It is a gravel driveway but they did it so well that it still looks good after two years.
