I bought a house in Penn Valley in October 2000. The sellers provided an invoice dated 2/15/99 from All Phase for a new 3.5 ton Payne heating and air conditioning unit installed the year before. I was assured by the owners that the unit was more than adequate, and larger capacity than needed. The house inspection in October 2000 determined the unit was working properly in that it cooled the air 20 degrees (on an already cool fall day). My first summer in the house, July 2001, the unit was not able to cool the house on 100 degree days. (Where I live, it frequently gets over 100 in the summer.) I had the unit serviced, and discovered the unit was 3 tons, not 3.5 as specified on the invoice. I was told by several licensed technicians that a 1860 sq. foot house in this location would require a 4 ton or 4.5 ton unit. When I contacted All Phase about the problem and spoke to the owner, I was told the 3 ton unit should be adequate, and there would be no service provided. The unit froze completely within days. I hired another company to replace the undersized unit provided by All Phase with a 4 ton Payne, which has performed without incident for 12 years now. I would never trust or recommend this company. They sold an undersized unit that was a smaller size than listed on the invoice, and refused any responsibility when it could not heat the house on a hot summer day.

They are very thorough and explained the condition of the unit; if there is a problem that needs repair, the service person fully explains what the issue is and the repair needed.

The service tech was friendly, thorough, and went out of his way to make sure the unit was in excellent overall shape before he left. He kept the price down, and gave me an estimate of a possible future repair that might become necessary. I will definitely use this company again.H
Description of Work: The heater had stopped working. We had plenty of gas in the tank, and the thermostat and the furnace fan were working.
