Absolute FLAKES! Ben Came out for an estimate told me he would be able to schedule it to be done this week and then ghosted me. I called back explained to whoever answered the phone I was looking for a follow up and not even a return phone call. Not even decent enough to call or email and say they didn’t want to do the work. Lacking professionalism and common courtesy. I did save a whole bunch of money and did the work by myself in a day. I do have more work to do and would rather do it myself or offer it to a company with work ethic.

We had A&A come out for duct cleaning after going through all the details of our house, heating and air conditioning systems, and concerns. They gave us an estimate range along with a range on how long it would take them to complete the job. However when the technician started the job, it did not take long to know that we were not going to be satisfied with the job. After watching youtube with different companies videos on duct cleaning, one expects plastic to be put down where they are working, protecting the corners of walls and doors from equipment cords, inspection for the ducting system and equipment heavy enough to take care of the job. However, there was no inspection on the ducting system. We were told he would know if the machine got basically jammed, then he would know there was a problem. After only two ducts were cleaned where only about 6-10 ft of hose was passed through the ducts, we stopped him from continuing the cleaning. There was no way that cleaning that short distance was going to do a thorough job. Not for what the charges were. That hour costs us $115. The only good thing about the whole experience was the technician himself. The young man was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. My advise is to watch youtube or something like that and be prepared to ask the necessary questions so that your expectations are met without wasting so much time, energy and costs.

since the incident i have had conversations with the company and they insist that i signed a completed invoice and that was the end of this transaction.he has since turned this matter over to a collection agency which i cannot see ending well.
Description of Work: last year i was looking to purchase a home in grass valley ca. one of the heating system's did not work. one of the neighbors works for a&a air conditioning and since they advertise free estimates i scheduled a time to have them tell me the condition of the system. when the technician arrived he had me sign a work-order to begin.he then prepared to crawl under the house and read the diagnostic code from the system.this is a unit that is only a couple of years old so it has current electronics that tell you exactly what is wrong, all one has to do is count the flashes and check the corresponding chart. the technician was done and ready to leave in approximately 45 minutes, but said he didn't know enough to complete the paperwork so he would finish at the shop and get back to me.three days later i recieved the estimate in the mail.the work -order that i signed turned into an invoice for $165.00,not the "free estimate" i requested.apparently the only free estimate is the estimated time of arrival.

Response from A & A Air Conditioning Heating
On or about the 1st of March, 2011, I was contacted by the member and his wife by a knock at my residence door. They were in fact looking at the residence on Nuthatch Ct. which is next to my home in Grass Valley and at the time was bank owned. They politely introduced themselves and told me that they were interested in the 12202 residence. After a couple of visits to my residence and I can safely assume seeing my work van in my driveway, which I do drive home regularly, I was asked about the hvac system. I explained to the member’s that we regularly do inspections of hvac systems for homes that are in escrow or being sold and explained the procedure and pricing for such inspections. I also instructed the member to call our office to set up an appointment if he chose to have the inspections done on the two furnaces at the residence. The member did in fact call on the 3rd of March at which time he was again informed of the cost of inspection, which is standard protocol at A&A and in fact, the appointment was set for the following day, March 4th 2011. The dispatch reads, “Inspect two units, including checking to see if upgrades to vent motors have been done.” Our technician Cecil thoroughly inspected the units on the prescribed date and found several problems with the equipment. At no time was the member asked or forced to sign a blank service order prior to A&A beginning work. This is a stretch of the truth for what had actually happened. During the inspection the member had instructed our technician that he had to leave prior to the completion of our inspection which took the technician 1.5 hours to complete. Our technician did not have the service order completed, as he was still doing the work. Our technician did get a signature on a partially completed tag which already had the pricing, but not the full report, as the inspection was still in progress. Upon completion of the inspection, the member was given the full report and at no time ever questioned or complained about the pricing for services rendered at the Nuthatch Ct. Property. A&A has been extremely patient and have tried to work with this customer. Payment arrangements were made at one point and only after the matter was turned over for collection, have the allegations begun. As for advertising free estimates, A&A does offer free installation estimates and the ads which are placed in many local sources can clearly be identified as, FREE INSTALLATION ESTIMATES. A&A at no time was given any directive to do an estimate for replacement of the hvac equipment which we would have happily done free of charge. The only directive from the customer was to inspect the current equipment, which he was fully aware of the procedure and the cost to do prior to the work being done. I won’t bother addressing the license and insurance issue other than expressing my concern for someone or some website making FALSE allegations about our company. A&A will however promptly look into that matter and correct it accordingly. I suggest the member contact the CSLB if he were truly interested in checking our credentials, as Angie’s list is a mass media website and not the official state agency which monitors and enforces licensing issues in the state of California. This is just a desperate attempt to avoid paying a bill by falsely accusing the company of being an unlicensed and uninsured contractor. A&A has made every attempt to work with the member for well over a year to resolve this matter in a mutually satisfactory manner and now stands firm in our decision to turn this matter over for collection. Sincerely, Daniel E Kumetat Service Manager A&A Air Conditioning

I was completely satisfied with the way they did the job for me. They are probably the best people I have ever worked with. I would absolutely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of A&A Air Conditioning Heating & Sheet Metal in December of 2010. They took out an old furnace and installed a new furnace and installed central air conditioning.
