Very well. Project took longer than expected and was slightly over our meager budget but the outcome was very nice. I would have no hesitation of hiring Phil again.

Excellent. Very responsive and professional, including two times they had to come back after the main work was completed to resolve two minor issues. The new bathroom looks great and we are very happy. Their price was definitely not the cheapest, but I think that overall it was a good value.

A Wiseman's Home Improvement replaced the windows in my home. I was very pleased with the overall process and the final results. The installer Anthony clearly has years of experience and his meticulous attention to detail was evident start to finish. Ryan bid the job and set expectations which were met to my satisfaction. The quote was fair and the workmanship excellent. The windows are beautiful and I could not be more pleased having selected this company to do the work.

Phil started the whole process by asking us of all details what we wanted to have done and by getting the information he needed came back with a reasonable bid, which we agreed to and confirmed the starting date. Ryan and his assistant Ron showed up promptly on the date agreed and started to tear up the old bathroom (59 yrs old). They proceed with full speed, with minimum breaks. Phil assisted us in selecting the tiles for shower, advised us on floor samples and countertops. After tub was in and the gorgeous italian shone tiles lined the shower wall we knew the results will be what we wanted, paint, new toilet, vanity and linen closet and new floor sealed the deal. I have to say that Ryan is a person who does not waste time, does every detail perfectly and both Phil and Ryan are very pleasant to deal with. After the bath was finished Ryan started with kitchen, got new countertops in, new back splash, and new floor. Results of these remodeling are wonderful. We are very please with the work performed, not sloppy but done with perfection. We highly recommend Ryan and Phil as reliable construction business.

I expect to go with A Wiseman?s Home Improvement in the spring and will update Angie?s list accordingly.
Description of Work: Since I had a very positive experience with a bathroom remodel in 2015, I wanted to discuss a replacement window project for 2016 with Ryan Wiseman. Ryan shared options and considerations that I may want to take into account such as vinyl vs. fiberglass, R factor and UV protection. He also explained the replacement process for my current aluminum windows, screen options, etc. I particularly like the lifetime guarantee that comes with the product he recommends. Pricing is better than 2 previous quotes.

I contacted Wiseman Home Improvement via the link on Angie's list in early December. I was contacted via e-mail the next Monday, with a follow up phone contact within one week. Their representative, Phil Nanni, met with me shortly thereafter and gave me a bid of $6,999 for a complete remodel, including new toilet, vanity, tub, tile, flooring, and paint. The bid did not include replacing of floor joints if needed. I was advised that they were about 7 weeks out and accepted the bid for an expected late January commencement of work. I was contacted by Phil in mid-January and advised that they could begin January 13th, if I had all the fixtures ordered. Phil was extremely patient with me as I am on a budget, and had never had the time or funds to remodel any part of my 1939 home. I wanted to maintain the vintage look of the bathroom, which at that time was green ceramic floor tiling, and a bad redo of what had been vintage pink tiles on the shower walls. I know that the trend is all to earth tones, but he was accepting that I wanted a vintage look. He also assured me that he would not permit me to make horrendous choices and have it end up looking like a gas station bathroom with all the tile I wanted. He met me at the tile store and the major decisions were made re: tile: 4x4 inch white tiles, with cobalt blue lines in the shower and along some of the walls. Mosaic white tile on the floor, with occasional cobalt small squares. Work began on January 13th and was completed by January 20th. This is the only bathroom in our home, and they were able to put the toilet back in for all but one night. First Ryan Wiseman and his assistant Ron tore everything out, lots of noise and dust and they worked very fast. They found, as I feared, dry rot, rotten floor joists, and dead rats. They replaced all of the wall studs that were rotten, and repaired the floor. They stayed on schedule; at the end of the first day, the subfloor was in. Next day they put the tub in and the rough plumbing. The next day came Mike, the genius tile guy. He was amazing. He finished up his work late Saturday. On Monday, Ron and Ryan returned to texture the walls, and the plumber Duane did his work on the shower plumbing. On Tuesday they painted and on Wednesday, Attilla finished up with hanging the medicine cabinet and installing the vanity. Lots of challenges, but they cheerfully worked through all of them. Cognizant of my budget, they stayed within the bid, reminding me of the estimates of various fixtures in the original bid. The only variance was an additional $400 for the repair of the floor, and extra tile work I requested. The final damage was $7,800. I was very pleased with the craftsmen who came into my home, the adherence to promised timelines, and the outcome. It is beautiful and has the look that I wanted.

I tried to explain to Mr. Nanni that I wanted to redo my kitchen as we will be selling the property within a year. Phil Nanni informed me that I must replace the existing cabinets with his custom cabinets and he would have his design person contact me. He informed me that I would not know his cabinet maker as he used "a Russian". (I actually think I've met this person during my rental remodel). When I tried to tell Mr. Nanni custom cabinets would not work as we would recover only sixty to seventy-five percent of such cost at sale he insisted I would "get it all back when you sell". I have 32 years as professional Realtor, I Know this is not correct. A search on Realtor.com shows my figures were correct. I am sure most of his clients believe his statements, which is a really sad thought. Phil Nanni was rude, dismissive and completely deaf to any attempt by me or my husband to explain our needs. I'm sure he needs to pay for that nice new Jaguar since his price was high. I found this man offensive, uncooperative, and impossible to work with on any level. We threw his card away before he could drive away.
Description of Work: We had an appointment for Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 12:30. I kept our communication here on Angie's List and the representative acknowledged this date and time. The person representing Wiseman was Phil Nanni. Phil called me on the date of our appointment and insisted we were to meet at 12:00. Thankfully, I was able to return to the property shortly after twelve o'clock to find a brand new silver Jaguar waiting for me. Mr. Nanni argued that our appointment was for twelve. I let the matter drop.

Dear [Member Name Removed], I apologize that you found me lacking in professionalism in any way during the free consultation. I would like to set a few things strait regarding your comments & hopefully clear up some of the misunderstandings that may have occurred. I ask if you liked the current layout of your kitchen & you said you, "loved it." I recommended custom cabinets because your kitchen is a unique shape and the cabinets are unique sizes, many of which we would not be able to find in a semi custom or off the shelf option. We also discussed cabinet refacing which was thousands less but not mentioned here. I apologized when I arrived a half hour early & explained I had the appointment on my calendar at noon & offered to come back at 12:30. You said that was not necessary. The Jaguar is a 2011 model & belongs to a friend of mine. I drive a 2004 F150 pick up truck that was not available for me to drive that particular day. Again I apologize that you were not satisfied with my professionalism. I try to be both polite & respectful at all times especially during consultations.

My wife contacted Wiseman's Home Improvements, and she spoke with Ryan. He gave her an estimate for 2 bath remodels, which is just a rough estimate, and we know that. He then scheduled us with a woman named Sherry, who came over to look over the bathroom. Had a little talk about how great Ryan is and how great their small but growing company is with remodels. She then measured ONE downstairs bathroom, and then, for some reason, forgot her tape measure when we went upstairs, so she measured the two other bathrooms using the squares on the linoleum. Fine, the squares more or less a foot, so I decided to just let it slide. And mind you, I offered to go downstairs to get her tape measure. She is engaging, and appears to be decent about the way she talks about bathroom remodels. So on we go, and we told her about what we want. It is mostly my wife who has the input, while I either disagree or agree with that. We want tile...porcelain tile. And we told her we are on a budget, and she said she will work with our budget. She then proceeded to show us cultured marbles, and while it seems to be ok, I already said I don't want it for our bathroom. My wife did not even agree about it being used for our bathrooms but she did agree the COLOR is nice. She said she will work on our bid as fast as she can...even told us she will send us an email about their bid in about 3 days. We liked her at first, like I said, she seems to be a straight shooter...which actually is the opposite. Three days went by......my wife was sending her pictures via email that she said she has not received....one whole week...one and half week...She was also contacting Ryan...but nothing...he difficult to contact as well...then a day before the 2nd week, it came. She said she has sent out bids for glass shower doors, that is why it took awhile...we decided to let it go, since we want the bathrooms done. And we hoped that they will have better deal than the others... but behold, they are way as pricey as the other more established, bigger contracting companies we talked to. (yes sherry, we had other bids as well...so we know it does not take 2 weeks for a bid. it is probably a good thing to wait 2 weeks, at least we were able to speak with other contractors and get bids after 2-3 days of seeing our bathrooms.) But the more upsetting thing is, she insisted on using the fake marbles she has shown us despite the fact that i said i do not like it and despite the fact that we said we like tiles. And she included stuff like hardware for our vanity that we asked not to be touched, painting the bathrooms that we said we would not like to do, install new towel racks, med cabinet, fan cover (???) light fixtures, mirror...all of which we never asked for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess she will be the one to live in our house so she decided to just go ahead with revamping everything without our input?!?! Her reason? Tiles are more expensive, and labor intensive...Yeah, we agree, but we asked her what if we take that fake marble of yours and put in the tiles we want with the labor in your bid...She then started rambling about are we going to provide the materials? It would take longer time due to waterproofing, putting a pan etc... Wiseman improvement, isn?t that why who make a bid? to give us an overall price for everything? And Sherry gave us a timetable of 2 weeks before she submitted her fake marble bid for each bathroom...so if tile takes longer, does that mean one freaking month to remodel a bathroom? Just curious, we decided to go ahead and tell her to change her bid by including tiles...she said she will work on it with all the smileys... that was over a week ago. I guess I have to thank her, at least we dodged a bullet of a remodel. We initially really wanted them due to the positive reviews. The least you can do is to let us know you are not interested so we can move on. What a waste of time. I do not understand why Angie's List even have these kinds of companies. Angie's List is supposed to be a reputable website with reputable companies....obviously, it is pretty much the same as all other websites. I don't even think some positive reviews here are real at all.

Dear Mr. [Removed member name], On behalf of the team here at Wiseman Home Improvements I would like to apologize for your experience during the bid process. I am not going to make excuses for some inexcusable reason we did a poor job of communicating with & hearing you about your bathroom projects. I want to assure you all of our reviews are real. When we do a project we do it to the highest quality standards in our industry. We use quality materials and craftsman to perform the work. Our tile work is done the old fashion way where we actually float the walls before applying the tile. We do all of our frameless glass shower enclosures using custom cut glass - not store bought enclosures that don't guarantee a perfect fit & finish. We also use Diamond Seal to prevent water spots & Fusion grout for mold & mildew protection. Our marble enclosures are also custom measured for a perfect fit & fixtures installed by a licensed plumber. Again I am very sorry that your free estimate was not handled properly & we hope you have found the right contractor for your project. If you would like to speak to me you may contact me at 916-832-4110. Sincerely, Phil N.

Our condo kitchen was functional but a huge eyesore. From the get-go, I was quite pleased with them. Summer is a busy time for contractors but Phil got back to me literally within 10 minutes of my email and I had an appointment the very next day for an estimate. Phil listened to exactly what I wanted--and more importantly what I didn't want. We were in the process of moving out so work didn't start for a few weeks. Started on a Tuesday and wrapped up that Saturday. New sub-floor, flooring, cabinets, installed new outlets, fixed the electrical nightmare under the sink, put in a new circuit and painted This was budget job and having had a few other estimates for 10k+, I wasn't sure how it would all end up (we're planning on renting so I just wanted the kitchen to look good and be durable) but I have to say I'm really thrilled with how the kitchen turned out and the quick turn around. Between flexibility, overall punctuality, professionalism and budget, we couldn't be more satisfied with Phil and his crew.

Overall it was a good experience. They were very quick and made living in a construction zone with a 1 and 3 year old a bearable process. I was very happy they got through all the demo and reconstruction and made construction area as clean as possible. My house was in good shape a few days in and then we just had to wait a week for the counter tops to get the sink put in, but it was very livable. I also work from home, so they were very accommodating when they needed to turn power off to do electrical work and restored power to my office quickly. Everyone on their team was very nice and they would put in full days getting the job done as efficiently as possible and tell you what time they would be back the next day when they were leaving.

My original flooring installer refused to repair water damage encountered during bathroom floor installation, stating the amount of damage was too extensive for his experience level. I made multiple calls to contractors for help, Ryan was the only contractor to respond promptly. He came out that same day, appraised the damage, and had a worker out the next morning to complete the repairs. The work was done quickly, neatly and with excellent quality. I appreciated Ryan's responsiveness to my sudden and unexpected need for a contractor's services. I am very pleased with the quality of work performed. I would call A Wiseman's Home Improvement for any future home repairs/remodeling.

Wiseman's Home Improvement provided for a complete Master Bathroom Renovation. We had just bought the home and none of the bathrooms were wheelchair accessible. The bathroom was enlarged by approximately 35 sq ft (taking out the Master Bedroom Closet). The entrance to the bathroom was moved. A walk-in bathtub was installed. A custom cabinet and sink was design and installed, so that the wheelchair could roll underneath the sink.Electrical, plumbing, new lighting fixtures, new bathroom fan, custom tile around the tub, new tile floor and painting. All were accomplished according to contracted timeline and within the contracted price. We were very pleased.

This was so refreshing! Great expereience from start to finish. For starters, a real person answered when I called -- every time. They did the work promptly, and with very little notice. They arrived on time, charged a very reasonable fee, left no mess at all, and it was all done within 25 minutes after he arrived. My review is late, but that's good because I can report no leaks at all. He even spent some time giving us some great adviced about construction problems left by the previous guy in our remodeled bathroom. If we can recover some cost from the last guy in court. We will use Wiseman's to "fix" what the other contractor did wrong.

Our experience was great, no pressure customer service from the moment we requested an estimate for our shower/tub replacement. We previously had a high pressure estimate from another company for the same project and over $2000 more, as well as it would have been a longer time frame to get the job completed. A Wiseman's Home Improvement Inc completed the job from start to finish. The job took a day and a few hours the following day to complete the project, just as we were told it would take. Actually, it was a little less time then we were told :) Everyone that worked on the project was very professional. They made it top priority that any decisions that needed to be made during the project were asked before anything was done. The shower/tub looks great! The ease of this project from start to finish makes us look forward to having A Wiseman's Home Improvement Inc back in our home for a kitchen remodel in the future. Again, we are completely satisfied with our experience and look forward to more remodeling in the future with A Wiseman's Home Improvement Inc.

From the very start the experience with Ryan Wiseman the owner/contractor was exceptional. The estimate was scheduled on 3/5/14, and he was on time. He completed and sent me the estimate back the same night. It was thorough and covered the scope of all work to be completed. The price was fair, so I decided to hire him. Since I was providing all the materials for the job, I had to order a couple of items before work could begin. I received all items on 3/14/14 and contacted Ryan via Email our normal communication avenue. Work began on 3/17 and the job was completed on 3/19 much to my satisfaction. Ryan was very professional, always on time and did a great job in all aspects of construction; electrical, plumbing, tile work, painting and crown molding installation. He was very responsive and answered all questions and correspondence in a timely manner. In the future, if I have another remodeling project this company will be the first I call.

My newly remodeled bathroom looks FANTASTIC!! Every time I see it, I feel as though as I am at a spa; which is exactly what I was told I would be getting,. by his team before the work had begun. Ryan (the contractor) and Phil (the manager) did a terrific job making sure all the details have been addressed, before, during and after all the work was complete. This is exactly what any homeowner would want; someone to really understand their visions and carry out their plans. Often times, you hear about the horror stories, but this is a success story all around. I have already recommended this contractor to everyone I know and I can't wait to show off the complete renovation to everyone. Ryan has a great crew. We are very pleased that we found them. They are very professional, friendly and easy to talk to. Don't bother getting estimates from anyone else, give Wiseman Home Improvement a call and you'll be sure you did!!

I did not go with Wiseman's. I was still hoping to apply my Living Social coupon but since the service was UNDER $2000 , I could not apply it. It is not Wiseman's fault as LS screwed up the special and I have not been able to be reimbursed. I also had a time limit to get the repairs done on my siding to my house and by the time they were able to come give me an estimate, my handyman was able to go ahead and do the work. Wiseman's bid was higher and my handyman's labor was lower (but I did need to purchase the needed materials for repair). The work ended up needing to replace almost 3 times the area due to dry rot. I know that the original price Wiseman's quoted would have also gone up and would have cost me considerably more than what I put out. However their rep that they send out, Sherry Hooko, is very professional and is an asset to Wiseman's.
Description of Work: I did not use this service as I went with my handyman Rick instead. I wrote this review once before but I keep getting constant requests from Angie's List to write a review on this provider.

It took a while for them to provide an estimate. As it ended up, I used a person that I had previously used from Angie's list. I had a Living Social coupon that I was trying to redeem but they (Living Social) had messed up the special that was actually being offered. Wiseman's has been trying to get LS to clear up the discrepancies but have been unsuccessful. It was not their fault as to the misrepresentation, however I now have an expired coupon that is not redeemable. I have not yet used Wiseman's service to date but they seem to be very experienced in their line of work.

I purchased a Living Social coupon that offered 500.00 worth of work for $39.00. To good to be true? Evidently. When I finally got someone to return my call and I told them what I needed done (Lights installed and some wiring added to my home) I was told they were not a handyman service, I then added I wanted french doors installed and my patio covered. I set up an appointment and they were an hour late. The owner, Ryan, came to my home to look at the jobs I wanted done and told me I could use the living social coupon on the whole job or either part and would send me a quote. He was very nice and professional while at the house. When I got the quote from Phil it was for the 2 jobs combined (I took the electrical out of the job even though to me that was a home improvement). I asked him to break the 2 projects down and when he sent it to me he said I couldn't use the living social coupon on only one project, I could only use it on both. In part I understand where they are coming from but in the Living Social coupon it didn't give a limit on the amount of work that was required. Would I have used the coupon on one of the projects, yes. Will I at this point? NO! I believe they would have done a very nice job but am so dissappointed in their professionalism. I wish I could comment on the quality of their work but would not use this company ever at this point.
Description of Work: Gave a quote for work requested.

Ryan knows his stuff!!! His workmanship is excellent. He knew exactly what he was doing and was done in less than an hour. He cleaned up beautifully. His price was less than everyone else's. I was so impressed I had him look at a bathroom project I was planning to do. I would not hesitate to hire him again and would refer him in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: Ryan replaced an existing over-mount microwave.
