US Standard Appliance Repair

He checked the refrigerator quickly and said we may have already fixed it by cleaning the coils and to wait 24 hours and check it again. US Standard had a discount coupon with Angie's list so this only cost $25. 24 hours later it had still not cooled and we discussed it over the phone with Mike. He told us the compressor was failing and it was not worth the money to pay him to repair it considering the appliance age. So we did replace the refrigerator but it was a pleasure to do business with a knowledgeable, and honest provider like Mike at US Standard. We will contact them again for the next appliance repair.

The issue was found within the first 5 min and a work-around suggested. The washer was old and I did not want to repair.

Mike diagnosed the problem quickly, gave an estimate and est to work. He had the right parts and finished the work quickly. He was knowledgeable and courteous. I'm very satisfied.

It went very well, i didn't know what was wrong, I was expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised that the repair was simple but required some disassembly to change out the drain line heater. The drain line froze up which caused the evaporater to ice up. I highly recommend this company, they know what they are doing, communicate very well and charge a fair price.

Although I was impressed by the reliability of this company to come out during the window of time and giving me 1/2 hour notice that they were on their way, this turned out to be over a month's time and very frustrating. The job required multiple visits to my home. I had to call the owner and his helper back several times since the first few visits did not fix the problem. Two ice makers had to be installed. The first one was not "long enough" so didn't come into contact with the ice as it built up and therefore never shut off. The owner's helper added a piece to it to make it longer (never did that before!) and that didn't work. The ice maker should have just been replaced at that point. Now, I am left with an ice maker that does not shut off automatically so constantly makes ice. I now have to turn the ice maker on and off all the time which is an inconvenience since it is not easy to access the on/off switch. The owner has now REFUSED to come back to my house to finish the job. I called GE (the distributor of the ice maker) and their customer service person told me that the sensor is bad. The owner denies there is a sensor in the unit. GE also said that I had every right to expect the owner to stand behind his work. There is a 90 day warranty on parts and labor but doesn't seem like he wants to stand behind that statement on the invoice. The owner suggested I took advantage of him but if calling him back after each visit when the frig wouldn't hold the temperature or the ice maker was not working properly, I disagree with him. I did NOT take advantage of him and his company. I just wanted the repair to be made. I've had appliances fixed over the years and never had such a disagreeable experience. I feel like I've been left high and dry and the job is not unfinished. The owner's "secretary" said she would reimburse me for the cost of the icemaker; the owner let me know that he would NOT reimburse me and would not come out again. I would never use this company again.

Great! We had a rusty water valve replaced that connects to my 25 year old never broken Maytag washer. David was fast, figured out what the problem was, gave me an estimate then fixed it. 45 mins.

The tech diagnosed a corroded hot water valve (internal to the washer), as well as a faulty water pump. He had both on hand and replaced both within an hour or so.

Very happy with this company and the seviceman, Mike. They were able to come help me the same day, on a Saturday, within 3 hours. It was great. Mike was very honest, explained the issue and what to do if it happens again.

Boris came within an hour of my phone call. He could not have been nicer or more professional. He replaced my 15 year old burnt out dryer heater. He replaced it, vacuumed out the dryer unit and fixed a couple of other minor issues. Overall cost was $180.00. Yes I would absolutely call them again!

Technician came on time and did the fixing. He was very efficient and knowledgeable, the job was done very quickly. The charge was a bit expensive to us, but hopefully worth it. The Angie's List discount wasn't allowed. Only purchased coupon was allowed.

From the beginning with a phone call to Julia to the end of our service call with Victor this company was SPECTACULAR!!! We will use them again for other appliances in the future, We bought the service on a deal offered by the company on Angie's List. Best $45.00 we've spent in a long time. Victor arrived early in our window, diagnosed the problem and fixed it, plus cleaned up the floor, too! Ready for the Holidays and all our guests, thank goodness.

I've called US Standard late on Friday afternoon and was able to set the appointment for next day. The technician showed up on time and called me 30 minutes before his arrival. He quickly examined the fridge and determined the cause of the problem: the logic board. He was able to repair the board. The whole visit took less than 1 hour.

Mike was prompt and efficient. He figured out the fix and was friendly while doing it. Only charged service fee. I would use him again without hesitation.

Good - Mike showed up when he said he would and immediately diagnosed the problem - needed a new electronic control board. He had the part in his truck; removed the faulty one and installed the new one and was done in 15-20 minutes. Bad - I was grossly overcharged for the part. He started the price game at $430 and made me feel like he was giving me a bargain at $380, which is what I paid, but I was scammed! When I later called Sears PartsDirect I was told that the part cost $90. I would not have minded the company making 100% profit on the part, but 400% is outrageous! I saw a similar review on Yelp about a washing machine repair which gives me the impression that this company's policy is to charge for parts what the repairman thinks the market will bear based on the situation. In my case he knew that I was desperate since my food was melting. I want to deal with someone who has a parts price list he looks at and the price for a part is the same for everyone.

David, the US Standard technician, arrived on time, was pleasant and professional. He checked all connections, serviced the appliance, and returned it to working order. The company provided a 30 day warranty for the work performed. We were very pleased and will not hesitate to call US Standard for future appliance issues. Additionally, the service call fee was very reasonable.

We were so impressed with US Standard Appliance Repair. First they were incredibly responsive and actually managed to fit us into a busy schedule that same day! Their technician went right to work, was very knowledgeable, taught us several things about microwaves over the stove and did a superb repair....and the bill was the best part. We had estimates for just the diagnostics visit which were twice as high as the whole bill. HIGHLY recommend them.

Honest opinion on need (or lack of need) for repairs. David really understood what the problems were and what he could do to fix them. Very informative on repair constraints created by newer technology & gave us options for us to think about. I would certainly use this company again.

They came the same day. The serviceman was on time, professional, and very nice. He knew what was wrong, fixed it in a reasonable amount of time, and cleaned up after himself. I would highly recommend this company.

We were fortunate to receive same day service on our old washer and dryer. Our serviceman was very efficient, knowledgeable and pleasant. I was very pleased at how quickly he made the repairs. In my opinion the price charged was very reasonable.

The service call went very well. Boris arrived within the earlier part of the designated time window, even phoning ahead when he was about 10 minutes away so I'd know when to expect him. He was courteous, professional and efficient and showed me the problem. Julia was great on the phone setting up the appointment, and I'd even asked if she would call the day before to confirm, which she was glad to do, and did. My experience with them makes them the company I'll call if I need appliance repair in the future. This is a great company, and I'd recommend highly recommend them.

The washing machine had been making horrible rattling noises during the agitator and spinning cycles. I called, in the morning, expecting an arrival date later in the week. Luckily they had someone available the same day. Julia answered the phone right away. She sounded very busy, but was also very polite and listened to my issue. At first, they were going to send someone on several days out, but an opening came up on the day of my call. Vlad arrived precisely on time. He was extremely polite and professional. He tested the machine, checked the underside and determined the drain pump needed to be fixed. 30 minutes later, the job was done and the machine is as quiet as before the issue started. We own a number of rentals and, as long as they are like they were today, we intend to use them as one of our regular vendors.

I really appreciated the integrity of this person named Mike. He could have taken advantage of the situation. I appreciated his honesty. I was thinking that I would need to call various repair people for the water heater and heating units. What a relief to learn that he had the experience to know that the problem was not the stove, but the gas meter. An inexperienced person would not have known.
