Description of Work: They came and they diagnosed the issue. They didn’t have the part with them so it took another week for it to get here and then that part did not work so it took about 3 more weeks to get it fixed. They are not cheap and charge $100 per visit. I also had to make several phone calls to them.

They seemed to think they had taken care of the problem. They seemed to think that they had taken care of the problem. What was worse is there has been a recall on that model. When we looked for the repairman on the inside of the machine there was the model number, but there was a separate silver label that said harness had been replaced. He and I agreed that won’t be an issue because I had work done on the recall three years ago. He called me three days ago before coming that we can’t have the repair part for another week and they can’t come for another week. Mike and I did not talk about anything else about this machine. She promptly looked up and said that we did not need the harness. I then called them and said that I needed more repair that appointment got cancelled because they thought I was cancelling the harness work. The harness then came in the mail. I already had a reschedule so that was okay. I thought I could give the part to the guy when he comes. When the guy came up I asked him why the water kept leaking into the dishwasher and he said that he was not a repair person and he had no clue. He then rescheduled me for after another week. They will be coming back. I think it is a plumbing related issue. I feel probably they could have got to me with the part sooner. They have been very attentive overall. So far their price has been quite reasonable. They do try to solve the problem and listen to me. They were here when they said they were going to come. The call me up ahead to check if I still want them to come in and that we are ready for them. They are good on that.
Description of Work: I used GE Appliance to repair my dishwasher. They are in process right now. It is a 10-year-old dishwasher and they have been here twice and the problem is not taken care of. I told them that my dishwasher was not draining properly and I did not know that water was running from the sink where I have the disposer. After they left the first time after they said they had repaired it my husband got suspicious and found that the water was running in into the dishwasher.

The first technician who came told me the 10-year old fridge needed a new door ($800) and it wasn't worth fixing. Also, the door had been 'recalled' but I missed the time to get a free one. I chose to pay only the $100 for the diagnosis and not get a new door. The next day, I called GE to inquire about the recall and was informed there had never been a recall on the door. The customer service rep said he wanted to "investigate what the service tech told me" and that he'd call me back the next day. I wasn't called back, so I called a few days later. At that point, it gets bizarre. The customer service rep confirms that there was no recall and also tells me he "can't confirm what the service tech told me." I ask for a refund on the $100 I spent for the service call, and is refused since "you received a diagnosis and that's what you paid for." When I reminded the service rep that the technician lied to me and spent less than 60 seconds looking at the fridge and did nothing except open the freezer door before making his pronouncement, the service rep still refused to budge. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was told that they "don't have supervisors." After another 10 minutes, the service rep agrees to let me speak to a "Team Leader" - I guess I asked for the wrong title the first time. I was on hold for 12 minutes before the service rep came back on the phone to tell me the Team Leader was unavailable and that I cold leave her a voice mail. I did that. Several days later, the Team Leader called me back! When I went through the entire story with her, she was sympathetic, but also refused a refund. I finally settled on having a different service technician come to my house for no additional charge (she described him as the lead tech for the area). She also told me that any parts the fridge needed would be provided at a 25% discount and that if I chose to get a new fridge, I would also receive a substantial discount, although I can't remember the percentage. The lead technician examined the fridge, opened up the electrical panel behind the in-door ice and water dispenser and showed me that a solenoid had rusted. Replacing that $55 part fixed the problem. It took him 5 minutes to figure it out and 5 more minutes to fix it. This technician told me while we were chatting that the original service call was by a long time GE technician who was a few months from retirement and "probably didn't care anymore!" Isn't that wonderful!!! Anyway, although I was not charged for the second home visit, I never got the promised 25% discount on the part. This didn't bother me so much since the part was so cheap, but if it had been more expensive I would have been really angry. All in all, this experience was awful. I used up over 100 cell phone minutes on the phone with GE, almost bought a new fridge for no good reason, was called a liar, didn't get the promised discount on parts...but ultimately got a working fridge. But what a way to have to go about this.

It was been an excellent experience. I've had GE appliances in the past, this is the third time I've had GE appliances. I think they're great appliances and their service is great.
Description of Work: They had to fix the ice maker on the refrigerator. They had to add a tube because I flooded my floors.

My freezer wasn?t working right so I went on www.geapplainces.com and signed up for a service repair. They sent someone out with in hours of my sign up and he was able to make the repair within hours of his visit. He even came early and was able to call to see if that would be ok.
Description of Work: They repaired my freezer by installing a new fan.
