Terry Came out personally to provide a quote and measure for the gate and fence. When installation day came, the fence had not been made per his instructions on the work order so he came out and verified then took the gate back to have it corrected. The crew worked on the side yard fence and gate that day. They returned the very next day and installed the gate. Very good workmanship and very good communication from Stump Fence.

Estimator came on time, installer came on time, fence installed with no problems. Better service and result than I anticipated.

A lot of work was scheduled to be done on our property before the fence installation. Matt, of Stump Fence Co., was very accommodating of our last minute schedule changes as a result of other project delays. He represented the company well with his cool and patient demeanor. When the fence work began, it was completed in a timely manner and on budget. The completed project looks beautiful!

Stump Fence installed a redwood fence for me in early April, 2016. Matt came by to provide an estimate and learn what pattern, quality of wood and timeline I wanted. We agreed on using a B grade redwood which would have few if any knots in it. Also, Stump was to paint (my choice of color and paint) the boards before installation. To my surprise, on the first day the crew arrived to remove the old fence with several painted boards to verify the color was what I had chosen. I should point out the configuration I desired was non-standard, and required special expertise to construct. The crew was outstanding in working with me to insure they satisfied my request. Within a week, the crew (the same one each day) had not only completed the job, but put a second coat of paint on the fence and cleaned up all debris. They even used a metal detector to ensure no nails or screws were left behind. This was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I highly recommend Stump Fence for your fencing needs.

Great service! Prompt response to phone calls, and very easy to set up an appointment for an estimate. Stump Fence has done two jobs for us; installed a vinyl gate in October 2015, and a vinyl fence in our side yard in 2014. The workers were on time, polite, and cleaned up afterwards. The second job they did for us, installation of a vinyl gate, the same two workers that installed the fence the year before showed up. Employee retention is a great testimony to the character of a company. Referred them to our neighbors across the street for a new fence which was completed recently.

Terry, the owner, met with me for the initial bid. The whole process was easy from start to finish. Terry was responsive, the job started when he said it would, and the fence looks as great as he promised. The guys doing the work were wonderful; they were friendly and they were gracious when speaking with one of my neighbors who likes to talk to literally everyone. And when they cleaned up after themselves, they went above and beyond my expectation, down to stacking the cement stepping stones that were scattered on my sidewalk.

We had a very specific fence design to accommodate our city's strict front yard requirements. Before providing an estimate, Matthew Stump walked the property with us reviewing all the details we thought of, and some we didn't. He was present and available through the duration of the project, even though he didn't do the work himself. The two men assigned to our job were punctual, thoughtful, thorough and had a fantastic attention to detail. The final result is a beautiful fence that greatly improved the look of our property.

They responded very quick to schedule an appointment. Was able to schedule it for a day and time that was convenient for us. They came by on the day and time specified. They were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Got our quote by email that day. We had 3 companies quote, and Stump Fence was just a tad bit more on price. They were professional, however, I only rated them a B (and the reason why we did not go with them) was because they were not as informative about fences as the other 2 companies. The estimate person just assumed the type of fence and style we wanted and was not very informative on what other styles, materials, or options there were. If you know exactly what you want (style, material, etc.) than he would of been great. Quick and simple. But what we wanted was someone to work with us our budget vs style we wanted.

Matt arrived promptly at the appointed time to give an estimate. We were given an estimate the next day via e-mail of the requested work. On the proposal I was not sure if it described the color of the vinyl requested. After a phone call Matt returned the next day to show us an actual sample of the vinyl color to be installed. We were surprised at the quick response. It indicated to us that we were working with a business that was conscientious and wanted to please their customers. The order was completed sooner than expected and the installation went smoothly. We are happy with our new gate and fencing.

Everything went really well! We were very happy with everything and everyone was great. Will use them again soon for gates in the front of our house. Would highly recommend them.

The provider showed up for the estimate as scheduled and provided a timely estimate. Their estimate was in the same ballpark as the other service providers, so there was no real cost advantage. We chose them largely because their authorization and scheduling process was easier. We made out initial inquiries around the winter holidays, and so it took a while to have the work scheduled, but that was not due to any lack of responsiveness on the part of the company. There was a small communications snag during the scheduling process, however. The Angie's List concierge got in touch with the company to find out if/when work had been scheduled, but no one in the office seemed to know about the project. I had been communicating directly with one of the Stumps to authorize and schedule work, but I guess it was somehow not communicated to the office staff. Once the work was scheduled (there were some weather delays), the installers arrived on time as planned. However, there was a major problem with the installation. The main components of both gates were built at the shop and transported to our home for installation. The smaller gate was installed without incident. The larger gate, however, did not fit the space. A temporary chain link gate had to be installed since they had already removed the old gate, and the new gate had to be taken back to be re-sized. This was very disappointing, but they were able to come back and install the correct gate three days later. Upon installation, the gates were given a second coat of paint (one had been put on at the shop); however, it needed another coat before it really looked right. We called to let them know, and the company sent someone out to give the gates another coat of paint. While they were there, they noticed and repaired a small defect in the gate - something we hadn't noticed. That was a nice bit of service.

We needed 2 wooden gates to the backyard replaced. I called Stumps Fencing to come and give us an estimate and was able to schedule an appt smoothly. Terry came 30 min later then the scheduled time but called to inform us of his progress which was was nice. When he came he told me that on the way back to Glendora there would be a lot of traffic. Throughout the appt, I felt that he was in a rush. There was hardly any details given. I had to ask questions to get the details: Will there be locks? What's the warranty? How long does the process take? etc. At the end of the visit, I asked him to ball park the price for me. He told me it would be approx $4000 to change out the two gates. Stump Fence was the 3rd quote I had been given for the job, and his price quote was also double the price of the other 2 companies. Instead of giving me an explanation as to his high cost (ie extended warranty? better materials? more experience?), he simply told me that he "would not waste my time with a bid" and literally just drove off. As my husband said, guess he didn't need the business.

All went well with one qualification. After the bid was accepted, I told them I had the "10% off" coupon from Angie's List, and then I was told they would honor that. When it came time to do the job I was told that the 10% had already been taken off the original $3,500 bid. I didn't argue the point, but I am not comfortable with it. The price charged was competitive.

We needed a automatic gate installed in the far back part of backyard. I contacted Stump fencing and Matt came out to my house on the appointed date and time. He was extremely friendly and professional. He took all the specifications and made an awesome suggestion to do a solar panel powered gate, since there was no power in the area where I wanted the gate to be. The cost was extremely competitive. When we decided to go with Matt and the concrete was being laid for the driveway, Matt came out a second time to coordinate with our concrete contractor on what needed to be done so, Matt could start making the gate. After all the concrete and the brick wall was done, Matt's crew arrive on the scheduled date and time. His crew was professional and extremely courteous. The gate was up in 2 days and works perfectly. I strongly recommend Stump Fencing for all those looking for someone to install a gate or fence.

Stump Fence Co. was one of 3 fence companies I contacted for estimates on having replacement fences and gates fabricated and installed. Matt Stump came promptly, measured, and gave me recommendations regarding the materials. I received an email estimate the next day. With an Angie's List discount Matt's estimate was very competitive. There was a small glitch with a change of date for installation, but Matt's crew arrived on the next date agreed upon. They came on time and were personable and polite. They did a great job of the installation and took away the old fences & gates. I had given Matt a drawing of the design I wanted and he executed it exactly to my specs. Everything fit perfectly and the materials are top quality. I will be happy recommend Stump Fence Co. and use them again.

Matt was extremely professional. He listened to my concerns and provided an estimate that included ways to address what I was concerned about. The crew that actually did the installation was prompt, efficient, communicated when necessary and kept me informed of what was going to transpire. They were excellent -- really, really good. They were easy to work with. They do quality work. The owner is good and the crew that he sent out was excellent. Everything was cleaned up really well. They didn't leave any rubbish or anything else behind. I was very impressed.

They were really good. We got quotes from some other people and they just looked at it and said here's a quote. He walked it through and asked what kind of fence. He made suggestions and said the fence was set up this way and it would probably be better to switch it around for more access. We had 4 different gates and 2 different types of material. He walked through everything. He was really on top of it on the quote process. His quote was more but he provided much more service and a better product. We would absolutely use them again.

Other companies either didn't come out to my area or didn't return my phone calls. They were pretty quick. They came out and started the project on one day and finished it the next.

Contacted Stump Fence to replace our original side gates that were old and rusted. We selected a simple ring design seen on their web site that matched nicely to our exterior. Got the estimate by e-mail the next day and accepted the price. Even though Stump Fence had a backlog of work on damages from high winds earlier in the month, the gates were ready within the time promised. Installation was quick with no fuss. The installers were professional and were done in about two hours. Quite please with the final outcome.
