R1 Pool Service

I used to perform most of my own pool maintenance including chemicals, filter cleaning and fixing equipment such as pool sweepers so I understand what goes into a pool service. Unfortunately with an ailing back and some long work hours, I hired Luis to take over my DE filter cleaning. That was 8 years ago and since he has replaced 2 different pool pumps and installed a new DE filter. I cannot be happier with the service that he provides. Luis is a hard working, honest individual but most importantly he has expert knowledge and deep experience with pool maintenance and repairs. I highly recommend R1 Pools as your next pool company.

Excellent service. Luis Rodriguez gave a fair estimate, was very professional; explained all work that was needed and work that could wait if we chose to. He was always on time and communicated with us in a timely manner and in a very professional way. He left area very clean and he even completely arranged a DWP rebate for pump installed (pictures and documentation). He was also very available for questions after work was completed. We would definitely recommend him.

Mr. Luis Rodriguez is a very professional, knowledgeable and very kind and courteous person. His pricing was very fair and he was very easy to contact; answered the phone the first time I called and every time thereafter. We were very pleased with his explanation of what needed replacing and with his availability to do the work. Only our filter needed replacing; he did not try to persuade us to replace the other equipment. We decided to have him replace the rest of the equipment since it was very old and not energy efficient. He also provided, not only the documents needed to qualify for the LADWP variable speed pump rebate, but many pictures showing the new pump settings and encouraged us to send them by certified mail to ensure that we receive the rebate. This showed us he cared; he went beyond that which was necessary. He was very attentive to answering all of my concerns with the pump settings with explanations that made sense ( my current pool service could not or would not answer). We were so happy with his service and knowledge that we asked if he would do our maintenance vs. current company but he politely responded that we are out of his service area. We highly recommend this very responsible and professional person.

After having used a pool service for many years, the quality and timeliness of the company deteriorated (change of ownership, too). It was time for a change. I went on Angie's list and was pleased to find 3 well qualified pool service companies. I chose R1 Pool Service after an incredible interview and analysis Luis did of my pool and all of the associated equipment. The evaluation of the state of the pool was the most important for me to make a decision. Listening to Luis plan for restoration of some items and improving others over time with a high degree of maintenance and care confirmed my decision to hire this firm. It has been a year now and the pool and equipment are in tip-top shape this despite fires, winds and lots of rain. Plus, he even brings my dogs treats.....who could ask for more...not me.

We have been using R1 pool service for 1 1/2 years and our pool has never looked better. Luis is a true professional and takes a lot of pride in his work. He is extremely thorough and explains different types of care that the pool needs in the winter and summer months and always makes sure that the pool is cared for like it is his own. When he comes each week he brushes the sides of the pool down like no other pool man ever has. He takes his time and always leaves our pool sparkling. Luis is a gentleman and always explains things in depth and with upmost curtesy. He is conscious of costs and I never feel like he is trying to take advantage of me by overcharging. I have used R1 twice now for major pool repairs. Both timers were great and I have recommended to others. The first repair was replacing the heater and pump. The second repair was replacing the pool circuit board. I cannot speak more highly of the work.

Luis is much better than our previous pool service companies. He's more expensive than some, but everything looks and works so much better. We've been using him for about eight months now. Great guy.
