Payless Kitchen Cabinets

Do yourself favor and do NOT even consider hiring Carpet Wagon, dba "Payless Kitchen Cabinets and Bath". I hired them to do a renovation of my bath and kitchen. I gave them $1000 deposit to get the job started. Afterwards, the salesman (Anthony Wright) passed me off to a bathroom project coordinator (Shery) and a kitchen project coordinator (Daphne). Both women seem to lack basic job knowledge (did not know what "floor moulding" is), and they both have poor business etiquette and weak communication skills: missed, canceled, and late call appointments, condescending and cavalier about my concerns. This was apparent after just one phone conversation with them, and I cannot trust them to coordinate all phases of the renovation. Also troublesome was that I was told that the project coordinators would not ever come to my house. Instead they would oversee the job by phone and I was to text them pictures. This is not acceptable to me. The salesman originally told me that there would be a manager onsite. Also, I learned that the timeline for each project was misrepresented by the salesperson. Instead of 7 days, the bathroom would take 7 weeks. Instead of 21 days, the kitchen would take 3 months. Very soon I found out that Payless Kitchen Cabinets & Bath wanted additional deposits of over 50% of the total cost for the entire job prior to sending someone out to take measurements, order any material, or perform labor. I may not know a lot about construction, but I do know that payments should never get ahead of the work. All things carefully considered, I decided not to proceed with Payless Kitchen Cabinets & Bath. I reached out by text, phone, and 6 emails were sent without a reply. I finally ended up speaking with Caroline Sakayan (production manager). She didn't want to hear about my experience and did not care about any of my concerns. She was very arrogant and argumentative. Despite no measurements taken, material ordered or labor performed (job hasn't even started), she told me that she will not be refunding the deposit. I feel this is highly unethical, especially under the circumstances and their bait and switch tactics. This whole ordeal has caused me so much stress and aggravation. Now they have me wasting more of my time because I need to fight them to return the money that they are so pathetically trying to keep.

Trust me when I say go with another contractor! To provide context, Payless Kitchen recently remodeled my kitchen including installing new cabinets, a new island, and counter tops with a full quartz back splash. I won't focus on the numerous delays but rather the end result, which leaves a lot to be desired. One of the more significant problems are the rust like brown spots on a WHITE (capitalized for emphasis) quartz countertop, which Payless has admitted are sealed underneath the counter top. Yes, they installed a counter top that has visible defects in my home. They offered $500 as a remedy without an offer to replace the defective product they installed, despite my immediate notice of the defects and their confirmation. I think its important to call out for potential consumers that this is one among many concerns. A few others are the discoloration that is already taken place on the full quartz backsplash and additional electrical work that will need to take place (i.e., they broke the mounting straps on two electrical receptacles). I will repeat the advice I rendered at the top of this post, Do not go with Payless Kitchen for your home remodel project!

Absolutely terrible experience and complete waste of my time. I told Ruth who booked the appt that I wanted a tiled shower. She never said anything about what I wanted except the worker would bring samples. Joe shows up and says they only do manufactured wall systems and it is one big sheet. So Ruth completely lead me to believe they could do what I wanted and the appointment was a total waste of time. Then I asked Joe about replacing my kitchen counter. He takes measurements and leaves. When Joe emailed me the quote, it was only for the shower I didn't want, and it was an absolutely ridiculous price. I could remodel my whole bathroom with high end materials for less. Also I didn't see any info about the kitchen counter he measured. I called Joe to ask about the counter quote and never heard back. He's never followed up or responded to me. Then Ruth has the nerve to text me for a good review. Ha! Totally out of touch. To finish off the horrible experience, Tamar texts me saying his job is to follow up and make sure I had a great experience. When I replied and told him what happened, he never responded. Nothing about the experience with this company was good. Complete waste of my time, and they have no knowledge of how to treat clients.

It started from the salesman he promised me things. When that time came it never happened. So I wanted to put up security cameras where they will be remodeling my bathroom because at this point I don't trust him. The first installers that came out had an issue with the cameras I told them I wanted to protect myself and my property. They called their office and talk to a supervisor and the supervisor told me if I don't take the cameras down they will put a lien on my property. So we argue back-and-forth back-and-forth and I said OK fine i'll take them down. At this point I just want it to be over with. The second crew that came out did the demo. They had an issue with the plumbing had to be fixed. Time has passed to do their scheduling and all the doctors appointments I had. The third crew that came out very nice Young kids. "They work their *** off" I felt so bad for them because I had to educate them on certain things. One major mistake that they did was put 2. p-traps and they didnt compact the dirt and lay concrete. But it was too late they already glued the shower pan down. I had them pull everything back up for me to inspect it. When they pull the shower pan up it got damaged. I told them I'm not gonna except the shower pan because beginning of this process they said it was a special custom shower pan. The coordinators taken care of this issue I asked her multiple times that I want a new shower pan she said that's fine. Two week has passed and they said the shower pan is new. When the fourth installer that came out I told them about the shower pan. Well just say they lied to me again it was the original shower pan all they did was sprayed foam on the and the foam was still wet. I don't mind waiting 8 to 12 weeks I waited this long. They put a mechanical lien.
